Yep, Specifically, I have 2 14mm non-carbed GonG stems.
planetvape are also working on another adapter that will cost a bit more, but will improve flow and let you finish a bowl quicker. that one isn't out yet though.

I just purchased one - thanks for the info. I was impressed with the response time and friendly emails from planetvape.ca. I'll certainly purchase their new Solo bowl, please keep us posted.

I just posted a review of my new ToroMicroverter in the customized vape setups thread, but I thought some of you might be interested in this part:

It's an awesome size (I can pocket it), it's actually quite similar to the solo.
Here are some pics that show it next to a solo for comparison:

I gave it a go with my solo first, and I love how they pair up.
I've performed the performance of the solo with my smaller pieces (Aqua-Vape, Blaze 11-Arm a/c, EHLE 100ml) and the Toro didn't disappoint. It clouded up quickly, and cleared just as fast. I didn't notice as much drag with the solo, I'm thinking it's because the Toro has such a small mouthpiece, there's less of an initial flow to feel restricted? whatever it is, I've noticed similar things with my other small pieces.

Hey guys,

I thought you might be interested to know that I finally released my review podcast about the Solo. You can check it out here:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend presents his long awaited review of the rechargeable portable Arizer Solo vaporizer, which has long been a favourite of some dopetribers despite early models suffering from technical faults. First, the Dopefiend unboxes and charges up the Solo, describes the features and why the early models with ceramic herb chamber were replaced, and fires it up to test it out with some tasty freshly cured bud. While sampling the fresh, cool flavour of the hits from the Solo, the Dopefiend looks into the auto-off feature and the different temperature settings. Next, the Dopefiend brings Son of Gonzo in on the testing of the Solo and the pair of them discuss how portable the unit is, and whether it's stealthy enough for on-the-move vaping, before loading it up and sampling the cool, fresh vapour the Solo produces while remarking on the lack of throat irritation caused by the Solo in comparison with the Volcano, leading to a discussion about where the Volcano and the Solo stand in the modern vaporizer marketplace. Next, the Dopefiend, Son of Gonzo, MildlyAmusedUK and Orson from the London Cannabis Club all hit Panorama Park in the sunshine to test out the Arizer Solo's outdoors capabilities and also to compare it with the WISPR portable vaporizer and the Plenty vaporizer. The DopeTribers in attendance talk about how to load the Solo, how its flavour compares with other portable vaporizer, how battery power compares to butane power and the danger of breaking the glass mouthpiece. Next, the Dopefiend returns to an indoor setting to talk about where exactly the Solo sits in the wide range of portable and home vaporizer units, and how it seems to straddle both categories. The Dopefiend also talks about the pros and cons of the incredibly simple glass mouthpiece and gives his overall impressions, before a Curtis Mayfield-inspred musical interlude from Hophead. Next the Dopefiend takes the Arizer Solo out on public transport, seeing how easy it is to use stealthily on trains and buses, and talking about how the technological advances of recent years have totally revolutionized his cannabis use habits, before finally testing it with some squidgy black hash and giving his final verdict on this exciting new addition to his vaporizer toolkit. Don't miss the first of our incredible LIVE Dopecasts from this year's DopeStock festivities in Amsterdam next week! Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail, follow @dopefiend and the new Virtual VaporLounge on twitter, and check out the forum.

Dopefiend, you are the absolute BEST and I LOVE your podcasts and reviews! I think I can speak for many when I say, THANK YOU!!! Keep up the great work, and looking forward to future reviews for the MiniVap, Herborizer, VHW, and DaVinci ;-)

Well I haven't tried the EQ, but the Solo is very efficient! The only downside is that due to the very small herb chamber, you can't get a totally knock-out punch Plenty-style high from it. But only the hardest core stoners would be worried about this anyway!

hihi well, I also sometimes am not satisfied after one filling, but I also have never needed to do 3 in a row to 'get there'. I think the solo's efficiency is up there with the best(my humble opinion for what it is worth).

thx for the review, my friend from London gave me the heads up on this podcast this afternoon, and as always it does help to give people a better ide of what to expect.

On a little side-note: I have noticed that for me the solo without a water tool is getting ever more difficult in that my troath seems to be getting ever more intolerant to dry and hot vapor...I actually think that now, when using the solo stems without water, I am coughing more then when I am combusting...

This definately makes me wonder if this might also be a sign that indeed very small particles are also making it into the tube when inhaling? I do use a very good screen in the stem that only has 40micron openings, but still I can't help but wonder if the reaction of my troath is purely down to the dry and hot vapor or if this is due to small particles?

Maybe someone here on the forum knows a way how to test this? I talked about this with the producer of the mini vap and he told me that there is a machine that mimics inhalations and from which they can see what exactly is in the vapor that comes from a vaporizer that can be hooked up on it. Maybe someone here has access to such a machine? Would be nice if we could get a clear answer on questions like these...

I have this same problem, as I did with all my log vapes. sore throats, sore tongue and sometimes coughing fits. it just goes with the territory, I guess. It's the main reason I went to the cloud as my daily driver...the water filtration takes care of all these symptoms. unfortunately, the solo has made its way into my lineup more than expected and I still get these issues.

Any Solo fanatics here recommend that I sell my m105 and purchase the latest m107? I can get it for $160 from a reputable seller on eBay. From what I gather, the m107 heats up quicker similar to the ceramic version, the stem fits better & no plastic/electronic smell. The only question that I need answered from those in the know - does it produce any noticeable difference in vape quality?

That's why you have a 2nd bowl ready to go!

Tep: I second what Sticks says, nature of the beast, but yeah ofcourse there may be some tiny particulate getting through. I haven't tried the Solo through a water tool yet (well I tried with the VripTech Water Tool Perk, but the draw felt like cement), and have noticed if I keep the temp down to 2-3, i'm good and can appreciate the nuances in the taste of the strain. If I jump to 4-5, then I will get some coughing fits, it's due to the heat mainly IMO.

I find it weird how many can use this through a Water Tool so easily when the draw/drag is uber restricted.

The aquavape (small) works really good with the solo, and gets rid of the hot/dry symptoms...

Cool yeah, but does it moisturize too? I thought it had to be filtered through water (or other liquids) for that?

It's up to you, the m105 runs a little on the cooler side,....if it was me, I would get the m107 especially at that price. It heats up at about the same speed as the m105. The ceramics actually took longer to heat up....i've posted times in the thread somewhere comparing. The m105 and m107 take like a minute to max temp, while the ceramics were clocked at over 2mins. IIRC. The stems do fit better in the m106/m107 due to a new teflon ring added, although they still do loosen a little.

IMHO, the m107 produces a vapour quality similar (no same) as the older ceramic models (m101-m104), which is "better" IMO than the m105.

Either way, you have a great little portable for a reasonable price, you can't go wrong.

Wow! My bad, I thought you were referring to some plastic thing you throw in the freezer, and can't run water through it, just "cools" it, but thought it got warm fast. I will definitely look further into this badboy. Thanks for the clarification bro.

I have found that there is too much air restriction to use the aquavape with the solo, but I was using a 3 hole stem at the time. YMMV

it was the same for my 4 hole stem. i had to do the stem mod to be able to rip the aquavape without imploding my brain.

the aqua in aquavape means water.

Then what the heck is that thing called that i'm thinking of? It's like a plastic filled piece or water (or alcohol or some liquid), and you put it in the freezer. You don't ADD any water to it, and I heard it gets warm in minutes before having to be refroze?

your thinking of the vapor tamer from 7th floor.
here is my aquavape video with modded stem if you haven't seen it.

So, ready for this one folks? I threw my fucking back out with the Solo. Using the Gong adapter to a large tube - getting massive hits (with the too-tight but effective action), and somehow managed to pull a back muscle on my shoulder from sucking too hard bending over the bong. For sure a muscle, no breathing discomfort at all, but Jesus Christ man....

Anyway, I still adore the Solo - got a evolution and its frankly a joke in comparison... but the tight fucking action needs to GO!

lol! Sorry man, I really do empathize because I know what back pain is like (have issues myself). I have thrown my back out to the point of being crippled for a couple of weeks just by picking up a light object and twisting the wrong way.

I agree on the airflow, but PV is gonna help that soon with their new stems. Plus, it's the nature of the beast to be able to get nice vapour out of this badboy (design). That's why I think it's better suited for more occassional use, and not as a daily driver, although you can.

Curious, this tough pull/drag/restriction that makes it feel like a thick milkshake, is this BAD for our lungs because of the strain, or is it GOOD for our lungs because of the work it requires...like does it exercise our lungs? lol I know stupid question....

man, I know the air flow is so restricted I am damn near putting half my face in the bong before I get a good solid hit... I am looking forward to hearing about those updated stems from PV, I know they are getting close.

I don't know about all the different version talk and wanting a certain one. I love my ceramic 104 and have no desire for anything different. Maybe I'm lucky with this model and combo, but it rocks.

I wouldn't say "no plastic/electric smell." I'm still hoping mine will disappear. Not quite as bad as my second 105, that one stunk!

Amen to that! I use it with a water pipe which restricts the airflow even more. I can live with the smell. I solved the problems of the loose stem with a rubber O ring and inhaling herb with a screen. The one thing I can't remedy is the tight pull. I've tried inserting multiple screens amongst other items in the chamber and NOTHING works. I had this thing apart and was ready to start drilling additional holes in the chamber and base of the unit but determined it wouldn't work. If anyone knows any true fixes, without a reduction in vapor quality, please let me know.

I dream of an all glass heating element, a bit more vapor output and a smooth pull in a future model. While I'm at it - I want an Arizer made glass attachment to connect directly to my beloved Zob bubbler and throw in the car charger. Also include a screen pinch in the stem and screens that fit perfectly.

That's my dream vape. Makes me horny just thinking about it.

I went to Home Depot today, and got a few random bits of stuff but no luck with a cap. It would be cool to find a cap that is made of metal that fits just right.. So that you could put it on the stem if it's still hot when you're done. I found something that is barely too big. I'll keep searchin, in the name of DIY or something ha
