"The LSD pioneer who inspired the Jimi Hendrix song Purple Haze went out in a car crash Sunday after he lost control of his car in a storm near Cairns, Australia.
Owsley Stanley, known as Bear, was famous for making a pound of pure LSD in his career, about enough for 5 million acid trips. He maintained that the drug was a benefit to society. Once, after cops raided his lab in 1966, he successfully sued for the return of his equipment."

yeah, light pack for PD bonging makes all the difference.

re: Bubble, I've done pretty well topping things off with a little chunk. Just use the trick of doing things upside down, for at least the first drag and things wont fall / drip the wrong way.

Or even better use that with the bong, and just keep it upsidedownish the whole time.

all bubble would have to clog things, but some works.

re: first impressions using the Soul Shine Family Glass bong with the PD.
It took a few hits to get the drift but I quite like it. Two inches of water is the maximum, otherwise it will leak out from the stem or wet the mouthpiece end of the PD tube.
I'm doing it the same way NYCDeisel does it - the stem directly into the bong rather than a silicone tube from stem to adapter. The PD, if you're careful, doesn't have to be held with one hand. It rests securely onto the adapter but you have to hold onto the bong. It will tip the second you let go of it.
One thing I notice that I like is there's zero consideration for herb falling out of the stem because it's in a near upright state.
It appears that you need stronger more aggressive inhalations to make this happen. I didn't yet get the milky thick yield that we saw in NYCDeisel's video but I'm getting there.
It's a new skill set and it's going to require a little practice to get it just right, just like learning to use the PD in the beginning. Also I'm getting over a cold so my inhalation force isn't quite up to snuff. I did two loads, got about 9 good hits. I verified that the loads were spent by reattaching the stem to the PD, and they were.
It's nice to inhale cool subtle moist vapor and get the same effect.
And yes, loose, unpacked not overfilled loads is the way to go.
Glad I bought this... this is fun.

I am very glad to hear that you are enjoying your new glass! Yea of course like anything it takes a bit of practice, but between that and the nearly 8" tall beaker I have, even through practice, I still found the straight a lot easier to 'milk'. Once I found the right technique, I had to take that video, I wasnt ALWAYS getting hits like that with that tube.

You do need to pull for quite a long time(adjusting water levels and stem pack will help with his) but my personal technique consists of varying the speed of my draw multiple times through out the hit, watching the water can give you visual feedback of this though its almost unnoticeable in my video.

However, having prior experience using the PD with other water devices definitely helped in my situation!

P.S: feel better! I always felt like dry vapor irritated an already irritated throat even more, so the bong is a huge plus for battling a cold/flu.
;)

P.P.S: also note that I dont use the regular sized stems in the bong.

Are you using Whip-Rippers? Yes, I can see how that would make a difference in terms of allowing for a bit more water.
By the way what is the smaller adapter for - seems like it's for smoking non ground material.
Yeah I got hit a few days ago with an intense cold, missed a beautiful NYC day today but tomorrow will be even nicer.
I did notice that it was a lot less aggravating to my lungs than vaping straight.
Forgot to mention that I didn't remove the stem to clear the hit. It's not really necessary as vapor seems to hang inside the bong for when you're ready.
When I develop a bit more mastery I'll put up a video - meanwhile I'll experiment with different levels of inhalation force through the hit.
Out of curiosity I think tonight I'll insert my VB hose directly into the bong stem to see what you mean.

**edit**
actually I don't see how a shorter PD stem would affect the amount of water you could put in because the mouthpiece end only goes into the adapter to a certain point regardless of how short the stem is. on the other hand a shorter stem would seem to allow for better hits.

Yes, I didnt get the water thing, though it does contribute to the airflow, which has to do with water levels... you get the point.

Yea I use the whip rippers, I bought them with the original intent of using for my travel tube since its so damn tiny. but it works better in a bong then the longer stems IMO.

Other adapter? you mean the bowl? for smoking?

and I agree about the weather, I didnt see it today but tomorrow.... :D

Yeah the bowl - the bong came with a large and small bowl (just to get the terminology straight) and the PD stem fits into the large. I guess they're both for smoking in its original intent.

Haven't even checked the mail yet. Some friends down the hall asked if i wanted to go to some local bar tonight, I coughed and said that's highly unlikely.
I'm fine just contemplating the majesty of my new bong.

vapor bonging is healing :peace: just take it easy trying to get those bigger hits, I know how tough it can be, especially if you are congested.

My Purple-Days arrived to my house yesterday afternoon :p 46 days from my order for those wondering, and the juice was worth the squeeze.

The Black Walnut is dark and rich in color, is warm to the touch, and gives off a pleasant aroma and taste -- if it made any sound, it would be activating all five of my senses.:D I ordered a matching Porta-Bily as well, and I am impressed with how tight of a seal the pieces of wood make.

Another satisfying part of the Purple-Days experience is knowing that your money is going to hardworking, kind people. Many thanks!

I love the purple days a lot but i have one problem. I get a sore throat using the PD after a 2 days or so. I find i have to bong vape more often which can be troubling because my household doesn`t "permit" bongs per-say. So i find myself sneaking my bong vape in whenever i can :p

I was looking into buying another vape probably the SSV and my girlfriend wants to buy my PD...that way i can still use it all the time and know its in a good home :brow:

I just find my PD a bit too hot for me because i have a sensitive throat thats why i took up vaporizing in the first place. However the PD is better than i expected in every way and i am glad about my purchase.

^^You could pick up one cleardome's glass stems on etsy here, they seem to cool down the
vapor for me, he also had gridded inline stems here (hopefully he makes more, I wouldn't mind trying one out) which would cool down vapor even more....

yeah i know i have saw those in the past but i dont think i would pay 70 dollars for it plus shipping etc. And i have never seen any of those gridded water inlines for sale so thats probably outta the question :p

My walnut pd arrived in the mail today. It's been heating up for about 2 hrs. I've got some mint diffusing in the cup right now.

It's even smaller than I expected, and I was expecting small :) Very stealthy (one of my #1 concerns) and gorgeous looking. It has great curb appeal :)

I'll do a full review soon. But I want to try it out for a week before i do that.

Thx again Pam and Tom, it's a gorgeous device.

I have been thinking about getting a PD and would like to hear how you like it compared to your MFLB.

Love the concept of the PD.
My main concern about getting one is the fixed temp. I usually Vape at a pretty high temp and I am not sure how a fixed 190c will be for me. Main reason I got a MFLB over an Iolite. Did anyone else have a problem moving to a fixed temp Vape when coming from an adjustable one?

Received my black walnut/bison PD yesterday afternoon. I already love this thing and purchased two additional AC adapters from Jameco so I can easily take it from room-to-room (hey man, I'm lazy). It's a beautiful unit, easy to use, built to last. Thanks Tom and Pam!

There is (always) a lot of pressure to hurry, but some days you have to ignore it, concentrate on doing what you enjoy and doing it right.

All units are about 6 weeks +/- 2-3 days. We operate on a single file system. The line forms at the rear. Next in line is next. I make units in groups and they go out in bunches. NOBODY, has ever paid extra to get to the head of the line. We have been asked many times. :/

I believe 2-10 goes this week, Pammy is away helping a friend and returns this evening. I better not touch the paperwork, but I'm sure it will.
