Don't the experts always recommend not to buy the extended warranty?

But no, this isn't an option Vape4Life. That's why it was never mentioned before a moment ago, and not listed on their website.

I wish I bought an extended warranty for my iphone. I've had it just over a year and now the home button won't work. I wouldn't be too happy if my Cloud died after the year, but at the same time I know there is a MASSIVE difference between VXL's customer service and how they take care of their customers VS. Apple! lol

I was just curious, thanks for the info krazy

I've been mostly enjoying my time with the Cloud I've received, it's very much going to displace a lot of the bigger vape names people are familiar with once the kinks get worked out.

I've not seen a clear collection of symptoms for defective Clouds, but mine acts rather erratically so I'd not mind some verification -- mainly, when I turn the unit on, it doesn't always go from red to green -- it'll sometimes just stay red and heat up hard enough that it's uncomfortable to even touch the outer shell. Actually, there's been a few cases where the temp control is simply seemingly ignored and it's set to 'heat up until you can't pick it up' when all I want is about 10 o'clock. Guessing this means warranty replacement, which kinda sucks because I really don't have a lot of time lately to fuss over getting this sorted.

When it does behave, it's quite nice. In fact, I'm going to be getting rid of the dozen vapes I own down to just the Cloud, my RockZap and my Launchbox. I don't really need anything else.

Bummer. Time to log a support ticket.

Mine has also gotten so hot it's uncomfortable to hold a few times. But when I use it the temp is fine. Ive learned to turn it off when I'm done. :)

I still haven't figured out all the behavier of the lights. I use mine in a tool shed. On a really cold morning it will never go solid green but will eventually add a green into the cycle of lights. I figured it was telling me internal temp is good but ambient temp is to low? It still works good at that point though.

So you never get the solid green? How cold is it in there? lol I guess the Cloud should be used in a room temp. environment. Otherwise you may have to log a support ticket because i'm not sure others have said it's uncomfortable to hold. Warm yeah, but not being able to hold it? Hot potato!

One thing that I want to remind everyone is that the cloud is meant to be held by its lower cavity which should be slightly warm or barley noticeable to the touch. Compared to the top portion of the cloud, where it gets warmer.

The top still shouldn't get hot enough to burn you, uncomfortable is possible depending on your personal comfort level with warm surfaces. I have had some friends that have used my cloud claim that the top portion of the cloud is soothing to the touch, and they like it, others find it hot and the hold the cloud from the bottom. I have found holding it in either location doesn't effect my dexterity while utilizing the unit. If anything its more stable holding it from the bottom since I rest my hand against the power cord.

I'll use my IR thermometer to get a reading on both top and bottom next time it does it. I think anyone would rate it as very hot even at the base. But like I said I'll take a toke and it works normally. I assumed it was because my shed was extra hot (85*). As you can see my unit gets used in a wide range of ambient temperatures.

Hi everyone - Just chiming in to voice my excitement for the Cloud. I'm a 10 year smoker looking to finally switch to vaporizing, and after researching on this forum I think the Cloud is the vape for me. I only pre-ordered a few days ago, though, so I've probably got a bit of a wait in store. Now I have to decide whether to just tough it out, or buy a cheaper vape to use in the meantime.

I apologize for the likely redundant question, but is there any estimated wait time to get a unit? Like 2 months? 6 months? Year +?

Thanks guys.

I'm afraid this isn't a matter of simply not knowing how to hold the device, I had read about that in the instructions. This is very much some sort of flaw. There's a strong smell of ozone around the device when this issue crops up and the temperature has no relationship to the dial setting. When set at 10 o'clock and it hits green normally, you can pick it up and you can barely tell it's on and your hits are perfect. If it's experiencing the issue, it can get so hot you do not want to touch it at all and pulling a hit is way rough -- it's much hotter than what set point should be. To make matters worse this can happen at startup, as a few times I've switched the unit on and waited for it to go green -- and now I know if it's been 10~15 minutes without seeing green, it's glitched and likely way hot.

Anyway, yes, looks like a support ticket is in order here. The worst part of this isn't that it's defective, it's that it works sometimes! That makes it much harder to part with temporarily...

I'm not parting with mine even though it does get crazy hot sometimes. But I'm amazed the internal electronics can take it.
