Happy 420!!!! Mine came today. Vertigo (sandblasted-Win!) Hits like a fucking champ. Its so sick. My housemate saw it and said "Looks like something Batman would use to get high". I am ruined right now. Best 420 ever!! I love it!

Everything about this post is awesome! Happy 420 to everyone, and this next dab is for VXL  It's been a long bumpy road, and probably will continue to be for a while, in some ways. But, you're hard work and effort seem to be appreciated and recognized, and I'm sure they will continue to be!

:peace:

The Herbo is a top rate vape, but where's the heat retention? Have you forgotten that sm specifically designed this model to be superior to every other water filtered vape that relies on the heating element alone to supply a steady temp?
I haven't compared the two vapes side by side, b clearely the herbo heating element his powerfull and although there is no PID to regulate the heat I can assure that somehow, and imHo, those two vapes are not so far from each other in term of thick and tasty vapor. But for a lot of other reasons the Cloud wins it in my opinion.

Biojuggernaut: drip your elb in some isoprpyl it should do the trick.

Hey thanks Raf, if you have a second could you share those reasons? I'm pretty sure i'll still be getting a Cloud, but the Herbo and VHW can't get out of my mind, especially the herbo. ah, i'll probably end up getting all 3, i wish i never sold my VHW 007 kit and herbo sphere but that was a while ago and things change. If you don't mind a little comparison between the Cloud and Herbo that would be very much appreciated. There is already a kick ass comparison to the VHW in the associated thread.

vape4life,
Happy 420!

Received my cloud today. Mine came with a green label. I removed the vertigo label right away with some Lime Away. I really like this ht. The tree in the hydratube is running perfect. Splashguard does its job on big rips.
The cloud really has met my expectations.
I suggest that future versions of ht's have a built in all glass check valve like in fish tanks. That way no water could back flow into the machine. Also maybe a mug style handle for the body so it couldn't slip out of ones hand and your hand would be further from the heat of the unit.

I keep my vertigo ht on my eq when not in use- it fits great.

Thanks to Stonemonkey and the entire VapeXhale Labs team for making my 420 really cloudy.

Downward spiral
My replacement Cloud made it in time for the Holiday, just like the VapeXhale folks told me they would strive for. Props to SM55 and Phil personally for getting me a properly working replacement Cloud!! So far only 2 sessions, but now I am beginning to see what some of the beta testers were talking about in terms of taste, extraction, etc. MUCH different than my original Cloud, night and day between the two. I haven't went past 12 o' clock yet, but nice clouds, great taste, super even color abv, will get to play more later.

Happy 420 all
post more later, very excited and happy now that it appears to be working like sm55 intended

Forgive my oversight if it's been already discussed (can't remember) but is the cloud able to combust at higher temps? I know some have already combusted in it but I assume that due to a hot running unit. I really have no idea... someone else mentioned no combustion at max temp, but maybe that was a cold running unit.

Anyone that has a unit with the noon sweet spot, can you combust at full temp.

Also i'm sure some of you have been putting your clouds through ALOT of herbs lol How has the resin cleaning been on the cloud itself inside the joint, not the HT. thanks!

There was a video posted a couple times (video was of two users, with one cloud, and got reposted when the second user got his cloud) And they went through a bowl, back to back rips, at max temp...no combustion at all :) If I can find the post, I'll link it.

My Cloud Landed today!!!! love this thing only vape that can cut my oil tolerance as I said before the Cloud EXCEEDS Expectations!!!

Most Enjoyable Vape Experience! Every pull is a milky vapor pull!!! The Cloud is what I always looking for from a Vape and now its HERE!!!

and if you missed my video.... my friend got his pre order first...

So in the vid we took rips in chronological order from pack to brown and then display the bowl in the vid for you guys... these rips where taken at full temp which is unnecessary but we wanted monster clouds and we got just that. With the temp all the way the cloud would NOT BURN a bowl!!! VAPORFECTION (as shown in the video) and you can easily taste when its toasted! Perfect temp control and milky clouds every time...

more videos to come soon!!!!

I run my unit @ the max temp for hours and It has never reached combustion.

I have not seen any resin buildup on the Cloud.

I love my Cloud. Happy 420!

. . . How has the resin cleaning been on the cloud itself inside the joint, not the HT. thanks!

Inside the joint itself, I haven't yet had any build-up and I'm not sure there is going to be any. Where there is a little resin build-up is just below the joint, which is exactly where the bottom of the ELB is. The glass widens a wee bit at that point into a section ~5/8" deep before it narrows to a ~3/16" opening. Resin accumulates for maybe 1/4" at and below the bottom of the ELB. (Kinda difficult to describe). Anyway, a Q-tip and little bit of ISO takes care of it easily. Also in that section I've found some tiny bits of ABV; those are easily just blown out.

As an aside, and I hadn't thought about this 'till you asked, I found it curious that the resin deposits are behind the bowl and vapor. I'm guessing that the deposits result from the back-pressure in the ELB that you might recall was discussed in the previous thread. This pressure, along with the turbulence, are to me two of the most interesting engineering features of this machine and really differentiate its design.

Congrats to those who got their vxl's on this glorious holiday. I guess I'm a bit pissed at the bogus 420 deals in San Diego county. Our medical herb can only be delivered and these guys are boning us on great deals.

I'm hoping 2012 orders can be filled within summers end. I love that SG glass piece, wow.

I just have to start off with saying that I love this thing. The VapeXhale team got me some ELBs today. It's so nice to be able to finally get to use the cloud after holding it and turning it on since monday.

Compared to the vapes I've tried (bc bud vap, vapor bros, a vapezilla knock off, LSV, NO2, Omicron, SSV(owned and loved), Volcano Classic with Easy Valve Set up (currently own)) this performs perfect for my needs. I have always been a huge fan of glass and have always prefered lots of percolation. I loved everything about my SSV except for how well it paired up with my glass pieces. I only found the SSV worked well with the small Ice Chamber I got from their site, and my girlfiends tiny vase like wate pipe.

My girlfriend never liked the SSV, and sort of enjoys the Volcano. The vape she had enjoyed the most was the LSV untill she tried the Cloud today. She loved how it doesn't matter how hard you inhale, nor the need to inhale forever. She also really ejoyed how the HT mositens or cools the vape. She never enjoyed how much the Volcano would dry out her throat, and would just push the bag too an 18mm jointed piece. The vapor would always be a bit stale and dull that way though.

I must say though that I love the low temp performance of this. We got to try out the the lowest setting with the ELB a little more than half full and got 7 clouds. The flavor was very consistant till the 5th when it got weak at the 6th and 7th, and then just non exsistant for the last one. Very nice way to end a session without the "burnt popcorn taste"

At the noon setting with ELB about 60 to 3/4s full we get around 3 clouds, full blast is two clouds if we have the ELB half or more full, and one if less than half.

I've paired up the Cloud with a small bub I came up with the dimensions for that Mad Rob put together for me. It has an 8 arm tree with two slits and vertical slits on the bottom of each tree, which gives the most even consitent flow and percolation I've ever experieneced. Rob has also made another version with just vertical slits on the bottom. The small volume with the even and dragless draw was perfect with the Cloud. It felt less jumpy than the tree in the Vertigo HT. The taste preservation was pretty much identical to the HT's.

I also used the Cloud with my Luke Wilson 15 arm bubbler (the first style, and I think the first year's batch). Since this had more volume for water I used it when I tried the Cloud at full blast. The Cloud had no problem of clouding up the whole chamber quickly.

At full blast the ABV is darker than than the ABV I get from my Volcano, but is not as black as what I could acheive with the SSV. I think the highest setting will really appeal to some of my non vaping friends. I was afraid that may unit may be running too hot and would combust at full temp but I haven't had a problem with it cranked all the way up!

Thank you so much VX team! Your customer support, awsome dedication, and vision has gotten a vape that has given exactly what I have been looking for in the perfect vape experience.

quick question for cloud pro's. Does the water get warm after sitting on that heater too long?

Can't stop the head rush!
quick question for cloud pro's. Does the water get warm after sitting on that heater too long?
Well the water never sits on the heater "too long" it would be foolish to leave the ht just sitting on the cloud for extended periods of time. During regular sessions the water doesn't get warm, but i find the female joint gets a little warm, but not very. I do find, and i may be crazy on this one, but I notice most with my mobius that the cloud actually evaporates a small but noticable amout of water out of the bubbler if i have several people using it. Its not an issue at all, unless u are someone who never changes the water (which is nasty). Just thought it was interesting and illustrates the extraction power of the cloud in another light.

So I think when I get home from work I'm gunna try the cloud at 12 o'clock again and see if my unit really is running hot, maybe even go higher if I'm feeling curagous and things are going ok. Either way should help me sleep today during the day. Cloud is a god send on nights, quick extraction that can hit real hard which let's me get to sleep at a decent time.

P.S. was also dissapointed with 420 sales, and new mobius pieces, diamond perc is looks like a shabby pentaperc, which looks like a crappier stemless matrix perc they released. Prolly would grabbed a stemless matrix though if they didnt all have stupid male joints :(

quick question for cloud pro's. Does the water get warm after sitting on that heater too long?

I have the Vertigo which doesn't have a recessed adapter and after a few uses, Mr. Smoke No More is on the money in that the female joint tends to get warm, but not uncomfortably so. The water probably ends up being lukewarm, but I doubt it gets any warmer. My own ritual is to just turn off the Cloud when I'm done, and then remove the HT so it doesn't continue to absorb residual heat from the Cloud. At the time I remove the tube, I'll empty the water from the tube without worrying about getting every last drop and then lie it flat on a towel for a few minutes so that I can let it cool a tiny bit before I rinse it with water from the sink. I couldn't imagine that thermal shock would be a real issue given that the tube just gets a tiny bit warm, but I tend to go a bit overboard just to play it safe.

After about ten minutes, the tube is cool to the touch again and I can rinse and dry it, and while the Cloud's internal metal shell is still warm, it's good enough where I can rewrap the HT in the bubble wrap it shipped with, and put both the Cloud and the HT away in a drawer I use for both.

Actually, that "drawer" will evetually be the Nanuk 920 I have sitting in my closet if I could just get off my lazy ass and pluck it to fit my gear. ;)

Cheers,

Giant Robot

Well, I guess if it sits on the Cloud "too" long, then yes, it will get warm. But not "too" warm though. :)

I use ice cold water which chills the HT. It loses its chill not so much from sitting on the Cloud as from the vapor moving through it. By the end of the session it's at room temp, maybe at the most a little lukewarm. Then, like Giant Robot, I just empty it and safely set it aside away from my bumbling medicated hands.

Wow, i've never seen ABV like that before! That's awesome that the Cloud will not combust at max temp.

dirtpie, props for the review!!

PS. I'm assuming the hounds are officially released now? Seems like sooooo many are getting Clouds these days! I know it can't be much longer. Looks like they are almost in 2011 shortly.

whats too long?? I actually thought I'd be able to put it on top and perhaps many will do so since there's no stand for it
