NewVape

What a guy!
Rick,
I have to share with you. I had been lurking on this forum for a couple of days now trying to decide which log style vaporizer to get for my first vaporizer (<= New to vaping). I had in fact been eyeing a cherry RockZap on your website all day. What cinched it for me was the discussion you had above with SmokeStak. I now know I can order with confidence. I am looking forward to my new cherry 'Zap (farthest left in the picture above).

Oh My God breathless anticipation....I know it has been ordered and the post only moves so fast but I can't stand it....Where are teleporters and flying cars and hover boards I feel all the lost hours watching back to the future movies LIES all LIES...

NewVape, thanks for taking the CRZY leap, especially since you are a vapor newby. We will do our best to make it all work for you. Thank you for the kind words.
Will....at least it shows leaving Spokane the day we shipped. That is a good thing. Should be there tomorrow if they are on the ball.

A few more beauties up over the next hour or so.
Happy 4:20 and remember the discount code if you order a Zap.

Wow, those are some crazy clouds. I feel like i've been using my plain jane wrong. I am able to take long hits (1:38secs) was the longest, and it doesn't fog up for me like that after the first hit.. i'm a bit jealous.

I only am getting visible exhale after the first hit, maybe a tiny bit exhale on the second hit, then that is it :/
Vito has the super power to make any vape fog up his room with clouds!

here for the chicks
The variable output has been discussed before. Most of us are connected to a grid that is effected by the amount of power being sucked at any point in the day. The less users = more power output. A lot of people find that the output is less in the day (peak periods) and noticeably hotter in the small hours.

Also, as has been discussed, not all Zaps run at the same temp - especially if the resistor isn't hitting around the 20 ohm mark. The wood type and shape will affect the performance. Have you tried using a coozy/sock to squeeze out a bit more temp. Try it with a couple of socks - it might just give you the edge you need to get the vapor you want.

And herb dryness is a MUST! Let it sit out overnight uncovered and see if you get better results tomorrow.

Happy experimenting :peace:

I noticed this post yesterday already, but I was to high to type up a proper response at the time

Some of us have the same experience in the UD thread though, so I figured I'd chime in.

Technically this shouldn't be possible I believe. If you use a regulated PSU it should always put out the same current, as long as the input is between the specs (lets say between 110 and 240V, which are common values).

Now I'm no expert and just repeating what I was told (feel free to chime in here if you read this Hazy), but if this is correct we should look at other causes for these warmer and colder running logs me thinks.

Is it possible that people who experience this (I'm one of them) don't leave their logs on 24/7 (I don't), and that we just experience our vapes as a little hotter because it has finally fully warmed up after hours of heating by that little 5W element?

I can tell my UD performs better after it has been on for 4 or 5 hours or so. That's how long it takes for mine to feel nice and hot (not warm) to the touch on the outside as well. It'll produce nice clouds after ten minutes of heat up, but it takes hours of heat up before I can extract everything out of my bud and create the dark brown ABV I want. The difference may be small, but it's definitely there.

Perhaps I should add I have a particularity cold log with a resistance of almost 23,5ohm, but I run it on 14,3V to compensate for that. Oh, and I can turn that down to 13,8V after 4 or 5 hours or so. If I don't my pup will get really hot to the touch on the outside and I blaze through my bowls like a mf.

Still lurking as allways. Been zaplings for a few years now. I passed on my 3 myrtlezaps to friends and family . My everyday zap is my brass walnut used with a coozie. I seldom get more than 2-3 hits per stem but that's all I try to get cause I make butter out of my abv for use in baking majical treats. Breaking out my RZ1 burly rock for this special day.
HAPPY 420 TO ALL ZAPPERS both new and old and all lurkers too. Rick , I love you and your product and your continueing quest to make your product better. You have influenced the lives of many.

Respectfully, herb dryness is a preference (and is the "official" and preference of Zapville). However, it does seem certain strains I've experienced work better when dry. But that is few and far between and I think it has more to do with getting a better grind for more surface area. I got a fresh batch of material last night and vaped it without any bit of drying. In fact, I store my material in the freezer. When I want a bit, I take it from the freezer, directly to the grinder, then load the stem.

Happy 4/20 Everyone. Please take a moment to enjoy this excellent jam by The Meter Men (3/4 of the original Meters). New Orleans Funk, y'all...

Cycleb, didn't know you were joining the Zap train. Welcome.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, dry and finely ground. Dryer than you would want for smoking. As far as the grind, I think my small 2pc SC does the job perfectly (can't grind too fine with it), but I grind finer than most. Took a couple of weeks to perfect it all (dry, grind, load, and technique), but it was quite fun experimenting. Now that I've got the basics locked in, I've moved on to advanced techniques. I've been using Moms "marshmallow roast" tip, and doing the impossible by getting even more out of a stem.
This is what works for me. Experiment.

Vito (and any other stem masters), is there any discernible difference in the way the two different glass stems hit?

SmokeStak, welcome also. Ricks customer service is top notch and he'll get you squared away. You'll be wondering how you ever lived without one very soon.

EDIT* SmokeStak, yes, it should feel slightly warm in 5-10 mins.

Wow, and thanks Rick and Magik9!! The glass was here when I got home from work today. The new CRYZ Myrtle was ready, and I was ready,...I thought. I'll write more when I can type. I'll try to take some decent pics when I can move.

420 miracle? Glad it arrived ok. I was hoping it got there by today and nobody played kickball with it, lol. I know a CRZ milks that tube nicely. Enjoy!!

Looks like the good old USPS is on track this week!
A few more beauties up within the 1/2 hour.
Ah, Friday! I love Fridays because tomorrow is Saturday, the beginning of a new work week.
When you get older, it is fun to keep going every day. Relax for a day and you stiffen up........errr..... get achy from doing nothing.

Hi,

I received an Aromazap from Blisssville today (seems like they're the only ones shipping to Europe) but unfortunately it ships with the default US power supply (110V -> 12V / 1A).

I had a look around my spare power supplies and I have two questions:

1) I found a 12V power supply that fits neatly but it has 1.5A. Can I use this one? I remember learning somewhere that higher amperage is not a problem since any device will draw as much power as it needs, but never too much.

2) Does the polarization matter? The power supply that came with the Aromazap doesn't have any markings so I don't know if the plug has the positive or negative pole on the outside/inside. The one I found has negative on the outside, positive on the inside. I'm talking about the plug that goes into the vaporizer.

Happy 4/20 to those still in the right time zones :)

johnny_jungle,

answers to your questions...

1) The 12V 1.5A power supply will work fine. The CRZ draws only 0.6A ( I=V/R=12V/20 ohms = 0.6A).
2) Polarization does not matter. The resistor in the CRZ does not care.

When I remembered to check the mail, I discovered the glass tooty (regular, not HD) I had ordered. Arrived safely and haven't been able to put much through it yet, but pretty impressed so far.

Thanks, I tried it out and it works perfectly. This thing is awesome, packs a lot more of a punch than my LB and it's fuzzy warm to the touch. I love it!

Yep, you want 12v output, 1 amp, with a female plug (I forget the size). I'm not sure where you are but the electronics store here (Radio Shack) will usually have something with multiple plug sizes including the one you need.

Something like this. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3875403

And I believe this is the correct size plug, but please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Scroll down the page to the product summary for the actual size. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3807939#tabsetBasic

Good luck.
