Hi, I just wanted to ask a quick question was wondering if some one can help me out here. Does anyone know the exact weight of the cherry or walnut pd and the power adapter combined? Thanks

You're in luck, I happen to have my newly-arrived cherry PD and power adapter nearby. The weight of the PD alone is 284g, the weight of the adapter is 278g, and their combined weight is, unsurprisingly, 562g. I would imagine that the weight of the PD can vary quite a bit from unit to unit even within the same wood types just based on varying wood humidity, density and the fact that it's a hand-crafted product.

Out of curiosity, was wondering the timeframe in which your pd arrived, from when you ordered it.

I find that whatever the 'current wait time' is pretty accurate from my experience as well as reports from others.

Got my seating tool last week, came quick, and I feel better about the fittings now. Seems solid again.

Man I looooooooooove this thing.

Think I will use it right now and rub it down with some butter.
:ko:

Any tips on getting the buzz butter a bit softer to putting it on with an applicator or something?

Right now I have the tin sitting on top the PD. Good or bad idea?

Get a nail file, a small knife, even a fingernail, scarp a tiny bit off, put it on your thumb and rub it into a warm PD. No need to pre-soften it.

Alright, I've done that before...looks like it's the best method. lol Was trying to avoid getting it on my hands...no biggie.

Thanks. :peace:

In my opinion, your thumb is the very best tool for rubbing it in. Kind of a bonding experience. ;)

I set my buzz butter tin on the top of the PD and let it warm up for a while to soften a tiny bit, then do the thumb method or use a paper towel, depending on which strikes me at the time.

I read from another user on the forums that the different types of wood can make a "big difference". Is this true?

If so, I'm not concerned, I can just put a sock over it to heat it up a bit

Yes, different woods result in a varying temperature. I'm not sure if you could say "big difference" as I'm not sure how you qualify that. Certainly a noticeable difference is the case. This had been discussed many times before and I'm sure if you dig back just a little you can get a more straight-forward and truth-bearing answer from the manufacturer himself. A very simple search should yield good results.

Nycdiesel is correct, the wait times listed on the site are pretty accurate. Mine took just over 6 weeks from time of order to actually being in my hands. Well worth the wait, just go ahead and buy it and I promise you it will still be worth it when it arrives. It is so nice to have a constantly-on vape source that requires almost no thought.

Oh, and it's beautiful. The pictures you've seen really don't do it justice until you hold the thing in your hands.

I just rubbed a new pair of boots in with buzz butter, mello tone, nice look and feel, fucking killed my fingers. may warm the boots up next time.

why warm up the boots, when you can just warm up the tin on top of your PD(it doesnt heat quickly, give it a minute or two and it will be softened enough for you to easily remove some of it)?

I thought of this working well for things like furniture and such(what its originally made for...duh!) but I need to find a place to acquire larger amounts of it, I know theres a place for this....

@ crunchbones: Yup, I got mine at almost exactly 5 weeks when the wait said 3-5 weeks and got the same quote from Tom &Pam  keep in mind, though, the time in which these are made, Im sure Tom has explained his small batch method many times in this topic :)

boot temp took the warm butter temp right away, very stiff at cool leather temp. I could warm a spot at a time by working it, to move better but that is what just about peeled mt finger tips from their bedding. sore next couple days, I do have nice boots now!!.

To make this idiot proof, can someone post a link to the proper Ehle from a recommended vendor to buy direct from?
thanks.....

Here you go....http://www.everyonedoesit.com/onlin..._Bong_Hexagon_Foot__250ml.cfm?iProductID=5909
My PD is still on its way, but I'm quite sure I want an Ehle 250ml and an Ehle diffusor. I was going to order from EDIT but the shipping is ripoff to USA and I'm also concerned about customs, I don't want to risk it getting seized. Could somebody recommend a vendor that has ships Ehle from the USA? Grasscity was the only one I could find and they are out of stock. :/

Shipping's like $14, I know. Not a ripoff, it's international, but we'd both prefer not to have to pay it, i know.
Also wonder if there's any domestic quality alternatives in the same price range....

cleaning is so easy(its also a perfect size for me, mine is just over 11"), I also find that it milks a lot easier then my ssfg travel tube(7 1/2 inch tall mini beaker).

I never use ice.

I use mine with a showerhead downstem as well. but that is optional ;)

Yes it does, as you can see its a low profile bushing on the downstem so its gotta have a 14 female.

heres an example of just whats possible with the right setup and technique. all real sunlight used in the video.

Its crazy to me that you're able to clear the piece without removing the PD stem, I always take the stem and PD off as one piece.

My first real proper GonG pairing with the PD was via the Ehle 250ml as well. Its certainly a great option. Nonetheless, I think the issue of shipping is worth taking into account. The etsy option already recommended is probably more accessible for US shoppers. HVY tubes are available via aqualab as well. Good luck with the new glass!
