On my heater, it's perforated, it has that same material in a zippo lighter or oil lantern visibly sticking through the base of the heater.

Idk what the hell the steel clamp proves, I can't get the heat cover all the way down because of the hole (which is poorly blown btw)

I don't care about the hole, I care about the airflow and why there's wick material showing through. I thought it was supposed to be an airtight connection on the heat cover with only letting air flow through the hole and wand connection. It for sure, is not airtight and I'm wondering if this is the root of all my trouble.

I'm pretty sure I figured out what was causing my combustion issues. Some herb was falling out of the wand and hitting the heating element. I din't want to pack the wand but now see that if I use the glass end of the pick tool to very lightly lightly pack the wand I don't have to worry about this and get a better vape altogether.

you know, that's probably what happened to me as well. I try to pack my herb super loosely so sometimes when I unplug the wand I see that the herb is no longer packed, but kind of sloped downwards and fallen over in the bowl..

kertong,
So i combusted last night using my DBV and want to avoid that happening again at all costs. I love big rips so not sure lower temps will work for me. I have it set at about 1 oclock all the time. I don't believe i was pulling too slow although, I did just get this and still mastering it. What else, if anything could cause the combustion? Also do you think I can get good, satisfying hits from say the 11 o clock position?
just try hitting it a little bit harder. I have noticed its all about how fast or slow your sucking. I crank my DBV completely full blast and hit it like a mother fucker champ! I get huge ass hits in 3 seconds that will make most people cough their faces off.

I pack my wand by using the suck in straw type method where you just suck it right off the table. No need to pack down the heat will do that for you.

Thats how I get mine in there as well. But, then it doesn't seem to stay in there well and sometimes gets into the heater cover and thats when the problem happens. I prefer a nice long slow draw myself as well. Big hits, but getting there slowly.

Ordered a second Buddha off ebay the other day. Got it cheap but, I have noticed that I need to go to about 3 oclock on it to get the same heat I get from about noon on my original. Also, when drawing in very slowly the element starts to cool off and then turn white which doesn't happen on my original. Anyone had similar issues or know how to fix this?

VapeVoice,
7th floor said even if your da buddha has been run over by a tank they will fix it for like $25 so just hit them up :)

I will give them a ring but, was just trying to find out if anyone has experienced this and easily fixed it themselves. Sooo if anyone has :)

Just sent them a message. Any idea what the shipping will run me for there and back?

Hey folks,

has anyone ever opened a Buddha?
I'd like to see the inside (without opening mine)

I doubt there's much to see. Just a few wires connecting the heat element, plug socket and temperature control. It's one of the reasons that DBV and SSV are so long lasting and robust, there's very little that can go wrong with them.

Ya, you'll feel bad for spending over 150 when you open one up. Just what tokin said, at least you can fix it easily yourself if needed.

I recently had my da buddah serviced by ssv they sent me a new HC with what looks to be no heater shim. The dial position is also diffrent but even at 3-4 oclock i seem to get very airy hits. Do i need a heater shim or am i not finding the sweet spot. Ive owned the vape for over a year before i had it fixed by ssv for the cord getting messed up. They also put a steel clamp on it which i already broke my old HC on

Hi Guys,

I was thinking of buying a six percolator water filter from 7th Floor. They offer a 14mm and a 19mm. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me the advantages/disadvantages (if any) of the 14mm versus the 19mm. Thanks a lot!

Sure, the 14mm fits bongs with a 14(.4)mm GonG connection, while the 19mm fits bongs with a 19(18,8)mm GonG connection

Thanks guys.

I think I will probably need to buy to an appropriate size downstem for my bong. So, that said, I noticed they sell some downstems that are 14mm on the outside & inside diameter and the same goes for 19mm. But then I also noticed that they sell some where they are 19mm on the outside diameter and 14mm on the inside diameter - so, for that type of downstem, would I use a 19mm or 14mm water filter?

My second question is that it seems to me that the 14mm water filter has a smaller body size than the 19mm water filter. Which I guess means less water & more concentration of vapor?? So, if I was just using the water filter on its own (not attached to a bong) do you think the vaping experience would be noticeably different with the 14mm water filter versus the 19mm water filter?

Thanks again!

mraya,
all you need is the right downstem for your piece. So if its 14 get 14 if its 19 get 19. Its that simple. Oh and I have no idea what your talking about with the second question. You'll probably need to ask the company direct for that one as we have no freaking idea what the sizes of the water filter are.

3 plus years later and my DBV is still putting out clouds like the day I bought it. An outstanding product, I would buy one again in a second. A buddy of mine uses his as his daily driver and although the heater cover on his has come a little loose, his is still functioning flawlessly also. DBV + toro Ash catcher & j-hook ftw, soooooo smooth and tasty!

You'd need a 14mm water filter for the downstem you describe.

It is possible to notice a different in taste if there is significant difference in size, or rather, the amount of water the vapor has to travel through. I have no idea what or how much that is with these though, I think you're going to have to email 7thfloor about that one.

Hello friends,

I was at my local shop a couple days ago and asked if they had a water pipe adapter for my Da Buddha. They didn't, but the guy told me that I could just remove the mouth piece and stick the tube into my water pipe, and that would create just as well an airtight seal as buying an adapter.

I unfortunately don't have my Da Buddha with me, or my bong, so I can't test this. But the width/size/whatever of my downstem is 14, and that is the same as the tubing for Da Buddha, I think.

So should I save my money and not get an actual water pipe adapter? Will I be fine with this?
