Uhhh, right... You posted that you have replaced the screens (post #6993). :uhoh:

They don't arrive with "big gaps around the edge". Do they... ? No, they don't. ;)

Unless you incorrectly cut, replace, or dislodged the screen, "big gaps" is not possible.

The tip size is 1/4" ID, our screens are 1/4" OD and the clips cover the edges of the screen both top and bottom forming a sandwich.

If you have "big gaps" you are the reason for the "big gaps". ;) We don't send out crappy stuff made in China, I make it, right here and I am proud of my work... "big gaps"... C'mon...

My volcano using neighbor just tried my PD for the first time and loves it. He doesn't believe that he can't get one right now at the local head shop. He is actually calling around.

^^^ :dog: That's funny...

Even funnier when someone wants to pay, to get ahead in line. Like I would do that.
It isn't about money.

Edit: I swear, just checked e-mail, someone asking just that. I hope I didn't offend that person (too much), but I asked, how he would like it, if I let someone ahead of him, for a little extra cash... Doesn't work, does it? :2c: Would you trust me if I did? No. :2c:

++

News on the Sapele, I ran one through the big bits, it gets this woodworker's 'seal of approval' :buzz: , no heavy smoke and no dermal / respiratory issues in the shop. Some woods just aren't fun to work. This one is A-OK, carbide bits cut it well. Now on to building (in a few days) and further testing.

Friday Purple-Days Extra:

Clyde's Radio Weekend:

I listen to Internet radio in the workshop all week long. Lots of the time through one ear (mono) inside dB reducing muffs, hey, it beats the drone of a screaming tool... This Internet Radio is hooked to thousands of stations and when I find a quiet minute or two, to kick back, I check things out from around the world...

I hope to bring you all a new station each week, on Friday. Maybe you check it out, maybe you like it, maybe not. I'll try to give a hint of what's on the station, and why I have it on my favorite channels.

This weeks entry, and first on the list, just in time for the weekend is WGLT-Normal out of Normal, Illinois, USA. BLUES, baby ! Listen for Delta Frank on the weekend...

http://www.wglt.org/streams/blues.phtml

or check out WGLT on the web and all their other stuff.

Public Radio out of one of the best blues cradles, the Windy City and close surrounds.

Another great station (IMO) next week.

Same time, same thread. Something for your Head.

Get down, Clyde
Your weekend, Internet Radio Guide.

ps. support your public radio ! please...

That's the problem right there! All the spare screens you supplied are impeccably round and even. I just didn't think to replace the worn screen till after that post and I was headed out the door to an appointment. The screen I was referring to has been removed a half dozen times when I was experimenting. "Big" wasn't the right word either, noticeable would be correct.

Sorry I misspoke, I didn't mean to slight you with that post(#6993). The quality and finish of your product is excellent. It sits on my coffee table 24/7 and even non enthusiasts pick it up to admire the quality.

Waiting the 4-6 weeks for my Purple Days is the longest wait since Christmas as a child. It feels the same too.

Ordered January 5th, it's so close I can almost taste it. :ko: Oh wait that's my Launch Box.

I hear ya buddy. Just be glad you got your order in when you did, have still got some weeks to wait ;) Trust me, though, once it comes in all that waiting will have already paid off! :peace:

Good things come to those who wait, for patience is a virtue. :2c:

I, too am on the waiting list. I do not see what the bid deal is with waiting.....in fact, IMO the wait contributes to anticipation and overall gratification. Instant gratification has its merits -- but I would rather support a family based business that honors craftsmanship and artistry.

Funny that the waiting thing has come up again. Believe me, how long you guys are waiting is nothing compared to how long some have waited awhile ago. At that time, if memory serves me (which is really iffy at times), the wait time was measured in months, not weeks, and even then, those that waited posted back that it was well worth the wait.

Thanks all. :)

Our current lead time prediction says 4-6 weeks. Just checked 'The Big Board' and all units through 01-06 will ship Monday, 02-07 (if the creek don't rise ;) ).

I've mentioned before, I work in batches. And I'm trying to whittle away at that lead time. At least keep it in check. Pammy is visiting her friends this weekend so plenty of time to work. So, I better get back at it...

Oh believe me, I already know it's worth it. If I thought I couldn't handle a simple month+ wait I wouldn't have chosen the PD to begin with. I knew exactly what I was getting myself into.

If I was somehow misunderstood, I wasn't trying to say the wait is unbearable, I would feel the exact same if I had to wait 10 months and I was on the last week of waiting, it's the final stretch that's the killer. :)

Woot! Thanks for the radio links :) Gotta love internet radio!

Yeah, I waited months for my first PD but totally worth the wait and changed the way I looked at vaping. Also saved me a huge fortune when I reduced my consumption greatly by the switch. It will feel like xmas all over when it does arrive

I have plugged my PD into a working outlet and still receive no power. I have not tested in my car yet because when I slightly shake my PD, I feel something kind of wiggle around in there and believe something may have been dislodged (it has been dropped a decent number of times, clumsy people :/ ) because I don't remember hearing or feeling anything move around inside before until just today. A few days ago, it would receive intermittent power only if you unplugged and then replugged the cord into the PD, finally allowing it to heat up. With the intermittent problems I don't know if it's related to the cord or the heating unit inside. This vaporizer has come to be my savior, and I'm disheartened for it to be not working at the moment :(. Would you be able to provide any information or advice? Does anyone else notice something being able to move inside of their PD very slightly? Any help would be appreciated, thank you for your quality product!

Try testing with another 12 volt adapter. Sounds like the wire between your adapter and the unit is failing.

That happened to my friends PD, there was a rattle(meaning the clip got dislodged) when I turned it upside down, so I sat down with the wooden tool piece and followed the instructions that were included with the kit and after a few attempts it was fixed and there was no more rattling.

Your problem about receiving no power is most likely due to something being wrong with the transformer. Try using the car adapter and if that works you know thats the problem, and MyrtleZap site is selling transformer repair kits, which is better then having to replace the entire cord, cheaper as well.

yeah mine came a bit loose too, like i would move it side to side and it would sound like something was moving around...but that little wood plug fixed it now its all better :)

I believe I may have lost the tool that you are talking about. I read the instructions for the reseating of the clip, and noticed it mentioned something about some tool, but I just can't seem to find it. Can anybody post a picture or description of what this tool is, and if it is available elsewhere other than from contacting the Purple Days manufacturers? It would be easier than having to wait for a package to arrive in the mail and likely having to pay for the shipping as well. Thanks for some quick replies!

Edit: I looked and this was the only stuff I found related to the Purple Days. If it isn't any of these, it has likely been thrown out by accident, and I will be disappointed :(. Any confirmation would be nice, thanks again.

There was a short piece of wooden dowel, with an impression of the heatport stamped into one end - that's the tool.

C'mon , br34kthr0ugh , you gotta laugh along with us on this one. Those instructions you read had a picture right next to them.
