looking for a new vape - whip model only (links)

Hi all

heavy blunt smoker here, but I'm beginning to move towards vaporization...

I'm familiar with the VaporGenie and the MFLB but I'm sick of them... the rips aren't as fat and I'd like something more handy to have at home and save those vapes for the road.

A few years back i had a cheap "pencil sharpener" vape and it worked fuckin wonders. I was wondering what the best/reliable and most price friendly wall model.

I dont like fan attachments, I like to be able to draw on it myself. Any and all feedback encouraged. Vaporbros seems to be too pricey ($200...) and I saw this on ebay and it looks fine to me. any comments on these models?

so I just searched "ceramic vaporizer" as i heard ceramic is the only healthy thing to inhale (but i really doubt that these things will get hot enough to release vapors)

A ceramic heating element is a good place to start, although there are other safe and reliable options. It does not how ever guaranty that it is a good or safe/healthy vaporizer. I've only had a quick look at your links, but out of those only the Vapolution seems a viable option. But it may not be the vape you describe or the most suitable for a newbie. Have a look at it's thread if you want to know more about it.

OhTheAgony,
I'm sorry, which one is the Vapolution?
and I used a box model exclusively for about a year or so, there will be little to no learning curve

http://www.vapolution.com/, very good affordable glass on glass vape.

FC members get the basic package with a AIW bowl for $99.99. They also have an offer with same discount code that takes $25 of the portable package with the Li-Ion battery pack or the ultimate package, both also include the AIW bowl for free with code. Check out the Vapolution 2.0 thread for reviews.

VAPORIZER22,
The china made box vapes pretty much suck. I was talking about the Silver Surfer and Da Buddha whip vapes. I've never used a vapolution, but have a friend that is fond of his.

There are some pretty good log vapes on the market to. I would personally recommend the Under Dog.

Hi Barrelroll and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, the links you posted look like they are selling knock offs; probably made in China. There are lots of vapes that fit your description, however. I would start reading about some of them so that you can make an educated purchase. Here are a few links to some of the most popular of the whip vapes:

The Silver Surfer

Da Buddha

Vaporbrothers Vaporizer

As an FC member, many of our supporting retailers offer discount codes:

Good luck in your search and feel free to ask questions as you go. :D

AIW bowl? and do I just go to the vapolution site and enter fuckcombustion in the coupon code thing to get the 99$ deal?

Before you do that, you may want to wait for Max to weigh in, in that he has had a LOT of experience with both the Vapolution as well as the vapes from 7th Floor such as the Buddha/Silversurfer.

Will the Vapolution hit as hard as the SSV or DBV? Don't know, but Max does.

Max?

Yeah, you may want to shop around for a bit, check out your options. Another day or two of research won't kill you, and it might save you money or disappointment in the end.

If you want a heavy hitter and ease of use you might prefer the DBV, or even a log-vape. You could pick up a used one in FC classifieds for instance, or a blemished DBV from ebay. CDS is selling his Vapolution V1 in the classifieds too btw, yet another option.

This is a very good inexpensive whip vape -

I like it as much as I like my vapor brothers and the company is great with honoring its lifetime service/repair warranty. not much is said about the "vapor box" but it's basically a store brand "next generation" "vapor warez" which was one of the good whip vapes from a few years ago. it's an overlooked classic.

Max?

Ate the Kumo Kumo no mi
you can also get the life saber vape. Its made by the same folks who made da buddha and silver surfer and it's glass on glass instead of taking hits through silicone tubing.

The all in wonder bowl is an option that allows you to use that instead of a glass bowl connected to tubing and a mouthpiece. It creates an all glass on glass air path. Really efficient tasty hits with that bowl. Here is a link that shows a pic with it attached to give you a better idea how it works: http://www.vapolution.com/vaporizer_accessories.html

I love my Vapo. It's not as easy to use as my EQ, but with a little practice, it's a really nice vape. I prefer to vaporbong with it. The load size is best kept small IMO, so it's not a great party vape. However with a little practice, you can get fat clouds in an all glass airpath. Not a common trait in the vaporizer world.
:2c:

thanks guys...yeah this is gonna be for personal use. the all in wonder bowl sounds good- with my old whip vape i would just take off the mouthpiece and cut the cord drastically (2 in tops)

while turning the bowl constantly while hitting it, and stirring around/lightly repacking between hits, I could make that thing produce clouds like a motherfucker. Not a fan of water filtration, that just takes away from the high

At the $100 price point the deal you can get from Vapolution (as an FC member) for the vape and the AIW bowl is the best value you'll find. You won't get hits as big as the 7th Floor models, or the box vapes, due to the narrow diameter bowl on the Vapo, but it's an all glass vapor path that few vapes provide, and none at anywhere near this price. A little patience with learning the best way to load the bowl and zeroing in on your temp/draw speed should give you very satisfactory results. If you feel the need to dump a load of ground herb in the bowl and just hit it hard though, this is not the vape for you. It works much better loading small pieces of herb-stuff in a big piece and your air flow will be mostly blocked and only one side of the herb will get vaped. It takes a little finesse to use correctly but if you can do that it's a very rewarding vape for the money.

There is one box vape at just slightly over the $100 price point that gets little love here on the forum, but I have found to be a reliable vape; The Hot Box. It's made in the U.S., has easily replaceable parts, and you can get it immediately. The only real downside is that it does not have variable temp. You can get a B series (slight blemish) for $120 shipped here.
