So for a quick update:
This baby seriously rocks  I thought I was getting a mild hitter with a slight improvement in air flow as the heat core is really a tweek on the original log vape design. However, I don't know how he's managed it, or if it's due to the wood species, but Alan has managed to make this vape hit like a beast - on par with my HI.

One thing I have found is that the power supply used makes a big difference to the heat that all of my log vapes kick out. I got a MZ originally but it came with a US power supply so I couldn't use it. I ended up using a VV 3-12v 1a power supply I happened to have kicking around so that's what I'd been using. When the TT came that's what I used at first and, as I said, I found it to be on higher end of the vape heat spectrum.

Since I have switched the TT over to a fixed 12v 1a that I got from China off ebay. Now the TT is still running hot but not quite as hot as the HI - for me the ideal temp :) On a side note; even at the top temp the outside was still comfortable to use.

I've still got lots of testing with all of the different stems, but for now I am very impressed with the function and form of this beautiful vape.

Here are a few snaps of my new beauty and also the stems I got in a crude rack I knocked-up. I've name her Marilyn after another curvy figure I love ;)

That sure is a beauty J.R.(R.)!

I see you slightly modified your stem-rack as well, haha. I want that one all the way over to the right, send it to me plz :D

That wooden stem, is that lined with something or is it just hollow?

Thanks guys. Hehe OTA I think I might have a use for it but if it goes begging I'll send it over ;)

The wood stem isn't lined. What I love about it is it's versatility. You can see in the pic the 3 heads I have that are interchangeable with the wooden stem (or glass stem too).

Marilyn is looking mighty fine J.R.R. Glad she is treating you well. She does deliver the hot air almost as well as the HI.
The core design is more similar to the HI in that it has a small metal contact surface area to reduce heat conduction from the center tube / heating element. The direct connection of the heating element to the power socket also ensures the maximum current is available. The dark cherry does work well for both the HI and TT.
Love the roasting tube stand. Reminds me of my days in chemistry class. It looks like a test tube rack. I bet an old wooden test tube rack would make a fine roasting tube stand. Something with fancy wooden support posts would be very cool.

The hole through the wooden tube is just under 5/16". It allows considerably more air flow. The versatility of the tips is going to require you more time to test all the combinations. I hope you enjoy them all.

Thanks banana republic. If I haven't already contacted you, please send me another email. I have been spending too much time with HI gear and keep neglecting the TT. It does perform almost as well as the HI and deserves more of my attention.

Just resent the original email to you on friday, and I am pretty anxious for your reply ;)

The feedback from J.R.R.Tokin' just made me more confortable than I was about my log vape choice.

Thank you!

I'm sure you will not be disappointed at all with your choice of log banana_republic. This vape looks great, is so comfortable to hold and hits superbly. Now that Alan has re-designed the core it really is hitting at the top end of the temperatures that log vapes get to. For some a variable voltage might be desired to maybe drop the temps for daytime/lighter vaping.

Thanks for the comments on the rack Alan, it really was a rough 10 minute jobbie with function over form in mind. Your comment about a test tube rack isn't a bad idea at all - there's some quite cheap ones out there so might pick one up :)

Yes, and it works great. With the traditional steel tip stem design I think conduction plays a role whereas with the open design of the glass tip there isn't anything sitting in the port to get hot so there is more convection taking place and practically no conduction.

They all work great and are all different requiring different techniques. I'm definitely honing in on my favourites for different times and types (flowers, concentrates etc).

I will post a vid in the next couple of days with the TT showing off it's new found power!

As promised here is a quick vid of the TT. The first stem is the steel tip 'old school' design. Then the next is the open glass tip wooden stem and the open glass GonG stem. As you can see by that second one the open glass tips work wonders on the TT
Oh and sorry about the lighting - it looks kinda like the more I used the TT the more my inner light shone through! I guess it was a slightly holy experience when I was floating after :ko::lol:

Alan, I know your busy as shit but how much for a redesigned core?

Shoot me an email and we will see what I can do.

Very nice video J.R.R. Thanks. I love how the glass tube also works with the TT. The glass nipple is another good option with the TT. The sun did come and wash out your production a bit.

Thanks for the video Vito. I love it. All the different log vaporizer tubes and accessories play so well together.

It looks like you have quite a great start to a vaporizer museum there Vito. Love the corner vape case.

You are welcome Ace.357. They do make wonderful hand warmers. The shape feels so good in your hands.

Vito - Glad your hands are staying warm too. The new core improves air flow and heat up time but it doesn't get the wood quite as warm to the touch so it is not quite as good of a hand warmer as the old core design. The old core was a heat sink. The new core is closer to the Heat Island design. I'm thinking of a newer core yet that would allow the use of silicone and glass roasting tubes. It would have a 3/8" center tube that extends above the top washer similar to the HI. We will see if I have the time.
The thing I like so much about the HI core design is that it is completely open and cleanable. The TT is also cleanable with the removable heating element feature as anything that falls through the air inlet holes can be removed from the open heating element hole in the bottom. Every part of the air passageway cannot be viewed like it can with the HI core. A HI core can be put in a TT shape, but wouldn't make as good of a hand warmer as the TT core.

I have the new core design. I like to hold my TT upside down and use the opening of the Top for heat massaging and hand warming. You can palm the opening of the top with your other hand and it warms it up nicely. Not too hot to touch. Just perfect :)

Alan, what GonG stem would work best with the TT?
