Discontinued ThermoVape Revolution for concentrates

Smell, dust and other possible contaminants would be a chief reasons NSE.
Those jars are pretty pricey. I ordered a handful of small vials from here http://www.specialtybottle.com/58dramambershortieglassvialwblkcap.aspx and they work great for oils. I use the official concentrate tool from TV and it works great just tapping the oil with the tip and dripping in my windowed cart.

I can see why some would be afraid of dust but I do not know of any contaminants. Also I fold the parchment paper into fours with my oil inside to solve the dust issue and place it inside my cabinet away from light. Are you guys concerned with the quality degrading and such? Sorry for my questions I just wanted to understand why people would purchase small portable jars instead of enclosing the oil in the parchment paper (the main PRO is that you can unfold it and scrape every last bit of oil out whereas those jars will have corners and such unless you stick the folded paper into the jar). I find my method great when I am out and about and want to remain discrete.

Just some thoughts to consider. Also any new developements team TV?

BTW nice find on the vials

I used foil first time I made a batch of oil and parchment after and smell was still an issue. I personally didn't like scraping the last bit off the paper/foil as well. With a vial I just heat it up and melt the last bit out directly into my Rev or to top of an Omicron cart.

I use those Violiv jars and they are just much more convenient than a piece of paper, degredation is also a concern as I usually have around 10 grams of more in these jars which takes me a LONG time to finish. The ones i use have more rounded bottoms and no real corners for your concentrate to hide in either, I usually have no problem getting them nice and clean.

That makes sense and 10g of oil is a lot of oil for personal consumption lol. Thats about 50g of bud processed if your get 20% returns to get 10 grams. I am more of a smaller more frequent batch type of guy with more quality control but more power to you. Never really thought about heating the class vials to poor it in as my current method involves a Ti dabber which contains the oil and then I heat it up via the torch and let it drip down into the center. BTW I am really learning how to make those clouds haha better and better and also improved on my tricks with the more visible thicker vapor. Tonight I am going to take the biggest rip I possible can and see where that goes as yesterday I had the worst sleep ever and today's been a bad day. Well anyways time to do my research paper and I'll hopefully be back to contribute is some way or another. Til than peace n pot.

hey why do you guys keep your oil in jars? I usually keep mine on a piece of parchment paper and their all in a mason jar or plastic container. If its just a small amount of oil than I just leave it out in the open. Some of the BHO at the clubs are not properly purged and so as an extra precaution I leave it out. But if its a large amount than its on the paper in the jar.

depending on which run it is it may or may not get a jar to itself. if its not 1st run then it gets folded in parchment and into an amber jar. however if its a 1st run then i wanted something small, hence the 5ml, and shallow enough to dab straight from with the Dart. i may try the plastic ones also.

TV... can tell us what material the o-rings supplied with the Revs are made of? oh and what Dash No. are they?

Viton Fluoroelastomer...? Dash No. 108?

I just cleaned my DLV for the first time. It did not need it, but I wanted to see the empty weight. After drying my lower part weighed 4.58g. When in use and empty it weighs 4.67g. When full 4.74g. So, for me, I have about 0.09g needed for "priming" and 0.08g for use. I did not weight it when new so I am not sure if I cleaned everything out and have a true empty weight. Did anyone weight the lower part of the dart when new?

Edit: I usually load about 0.05g for use. 0.08g is the max I can load befor it start gurgling.

Mine started life as a prototype, unplated, weight doesn't count. However, I did note that my 'empty' weight was 150 mg more than the dry weight. I think your logic might be a bit off, there's a lot of concentrate deposited on the upper section eventually as well. I tend to add about 50 mg at a time, so again, our numbers are close.

what are the main differences between the revolution and the dart? recommendations?

I'd say the window on Revolution rather than top loading like the Dart? The former tends to be more messy and leak air (serious issues to some), the latter doesn't work as well with bubble, kief and lower grades. "Under the floor" they are the same.

I am not sure what you mean? The top part stays constant at about 4.76g (in use). Oh, i see what you think. There is also some traped up there which should be considered as "prime" weight. I think only the excess in the lower part is actually the prime weight, it does not matter how much is on the upper part. Also when I think it is empty I weigh only the lower part and do not care what residual is on the upper part.

Yup, confusing terms, but the best we have. I look it as a system, either new or fresh boiled clean. It takes about 150 mg spread around to get it 'conditioned' and running well. A 50 mg 'load' is needed to vape away and be replaced. The net is the same, there's a dozen hits or so oil tied up inside it. With a lot of heat you can get a fair bit of that out, but why?

Thanks, I think we're talking about the same device all right.

I have never used one but with the lack of any electronics in the design I can say I'm about 99.7 percent sure that there is no timeout

No time out. Not a lot of charge, but you can pull it plenty fast. This means you can get full power for fewer hits, but those are full on. Expect maybe 25 hits once you know what you're doing, IMO a great plenty. Start with a charged battery, but have a fully charged one ready to swap in when you start to doubt the load.

Load maybe 100 or 150 mg of concentrate, say 1/8 of the gram? Expect to add half that much again after a few hits. Don't put more in, nor try with much less. I'd suggest half a dozen preheats maybe 5 seconds on with maybe 15 off? The idea is to distribute the oil around before getting hot enough to vape off.

When you're ready to start for real, go from cold holding the base of the cart with thumb and forefinger of the other hand. Key it on. 10 to 15 seconds in you'll feel the heat coming on, about the time it's getting really hot take a test puff. Just a small mouthfull and blow it right out. If it's not thick and rich, wait a second or two and try again. Don't wimp out and take the hit early, it'll be thin. When it does puff out so thick you can't believe it, believe it and start a long, very slow draw. You don't want vapor backing up and coming out the vents but you don't want much pull past that. Minimum cold air, all you want to do is sip off the vapor as it's produced so it doesn't condense inside (which it will anyway to some extent). Plan on 10 or 15 seconds for the hit proper, 20 seconds to half a minute from the start.

Got it? Ready for the test? Take out half a sheet of paper, put your name at the top.....

Ahh, I just got my Ultra and DART LV today, and I'm in love all over again. I'm trying to figure out a name for this awesome device, but I can't think of anything.

Mr. Waks - You're going to love your device!

been testing out both lv and hv darts all afternoon. lovin' the mini nail set-up. gotta say the volume of hits delivered on comparable devices w/ the omi carts is also comparable. i do love the fact that it'll last forever and bringing a jar of concentrate w/ me on my travels wasn't too bad, but i did run out twice b4 gettin' to a safe place to refill. will keep one at home and a loaded one as a back up in case of clogs or empty omi's, but i think the one at home is gonna get a lot of work. i haven't had any clogs w/ this cart at all, not sure if that's even possible, and that is a welcome change over the omi carts. i think one of ya'll needs to hit the mark in between. more volume per load, no clogs and indestructible. glad i waited on the rev as this top loader seems to function much easier. also got the glass adapter, which may have been more suited for the T1 or rev as it doesn't bend much so the mouthpiece wants to pull the dart top off. no biggie. do wish it was clear tho. not sure why they went with cloudy other than maybe ease of cleaning of that particular material? anywho, just a nickels worth for now. loving the flavor too!

Super confused. I just ordered a Persei. I already have two LV DARTS. Can I use these with the Persei on the 3.7v setting or not? Was hoping that I could as the thought of dual DARTS was enticing.

That should be fine. Volts is volts. You'll need thread adapters though, right?

Ok thanks OF, I was really dabbed out last night reading through this thread and that issue kinda had me stumped. I definetely ordered two adapters. Awesome, looking forward to future experiments with the TV DART and PERSEI hybrid. Its fun times to be a vaper right now.

My method is a little different. After my last cleaning I started doing it differently and it works great for me. Notice no 150mg "priming" is necessary, I just start with 0.02-0.05g.

a) put a bb sized dab around 0.02g on the end of the dart
b) preheat for 3-sec
c) carefully put the dart in and continue heating for 1 to 2 sec
d) start drawing, stop when you feel it in the back of your throat
e) exhale, then take another draw, I get 2 or 3 really big hits, you don't really need to preheat

If there is some still in when the rev cold. Take the dart off, look down the heater tube while pushing the on button. When you see vapor forming at the bottom put the dart back on and start drawing. That is the best way I have found to preheat.

So I guess I use it as a laygo dabber and do not really load it up to full capacity.

In the video the dart starts out empty and cold.

Question to those of you still using the window version revolution:

Is it okay to use a small jet lighter on the side of my revolution to help the oils melt into the middle more. I have been doing this a bunch recently before starting my sesh and it has REALLY helped. That being said, I am using home-made iso hash. The current batch came out a really nice amber shatter, but it fairly solid stuff without much heat.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

Definitely OK...in fact, with some of the more "solid" or thicker substances it is really necessary.
Just use something that won't damage the heater coil in the bottom as you scrape and compact your material. I use a flat toothpick.

Just got my thermovape today, ultralite charger is not flashing any color when I plug in with the battery. Am I doing something wrong? In the mean time, can I use regular 1.5v energizer AAA batteries? Any help would appreciated.
