I wouldn't for the dust

MSDS Graphite

Not sure if it would qualify as a high concentration or chronic/prolonged exposure (I doubt either), but why bother? A glass dabber produces no dust.

Yeah it probably wont kill you but since the unknown is there i would be careful. Maybe just doing it one session cause u cant find a dabber wouldnt hurt. There are many other common household things thst can be used as a daber that are safer...like paperclips, needles, many tools would work, sewing needles (can get huge dabs on the hooked end), ...id even go for a fork before a pencil. off the nail you say? So you can also just drop the dabs on if your errl can be handled by hand.

I'd use a higher number than a #2 pencil like most people have. Higher number= denser lead I'm pretty sure. they're harder to mark paper with, so less dust I guess?

you can order titanium dabbers for inexpensive. I used to use a tip of a pyrex wand with a pointed (but rounded) end that was broken clean.

Sherbet pencil dabbers are pretty tricky to find unless you're in the glass game, but I just found a glassblower on etsy that sells them (along with a bunch of other thick, affordable glass)

The Pencil looks so real with the perfect color eraser. The pencil tip is sharp (not sharp enough to cut you), but it feels like a real pencil. The shaved part looks so real it's hard to tell them apart from real pencils.

For $33 shipped (less than sherbets retail typically)
