When I want to use my kief, I spoon a little normal grind, then the kief, then some more normal grind. I notice that I get more hits from a bowl this way.

Is this your first vape? Just wondering what your experience level is...when I got my first vape I hated it for about a week before I figured it out.

fyi strangefruit said he previously owned volcano/eq :p
Can't blame you much though, that tends to happen with walls-of-text hehe

How many different strains have you tried? Sometimes I get a strain that, for some reason, just doesn't vape as well as it smokes. Maybe you have one of those?

Finally, i would ISO wash that ELB that is clogged up and try a coarser grind. Whenever I notice that my ELB is clogged (by holding it up to the light when empty and seeing if I can see through it), I give it a quick ISO wash and I notice thicker hits afterward.

I hope some of this helps.

Maybe my post came off overly negative. Overall I like the unit well enough but maybe not as much as I thought I would. Not my first vape. Started with a volcano 5 years back which I kept for a year and had an eq for about 6 months before I tired of it.

I ordered extra elb's so I am always using a clean one. What I was referring to is the sift when heated forms a solid mass that is tough to draw air through. It works better as I said when mixing it with coarser grind but still not as well as I had hoped.

I have tried several high quality flowers and sifts with the cloud so I don't think my problem is strain specific.

^ When you first turn the unit on, turn the dial all the way to the highest setting and wait a couple minutes longer than when the light turns green. Before you take your first hit, turn the dial down to your desired temp and wait another minute or so. You should be getting thick clouds almost instantly doing this.
I definitely find it works much better when warmed for 10-15 min vs. just going when light is green.

I thought these same exact things at first. I think to get the results you want pack it so the cap pushes down the herb, and use like temp 2:00 or 3:00. I get way bigger clouds this way than with the DBV at least. I don't really care for the hdratube either though I prefer it through a bubbler or bong, more cooling for bigger hits.

Keep in mind the noon position they recommend is a pretty low temp, for a smoke like high i find around the 5 o'clock position to be about right, its not as hot as you would think.
If I would have posted a review the day I got my cloud, my review would have been far more negative. I originally thought my unit may be defective. I felt a bit like joe rogan when he tested his beta unit. (not sure it was working as it should) After a week of tests and trials I am more happy with the unit just not life altering like I played it up to be in my mind.

My buddy got his cloud yesterday, mine won't be here until tomorrow, but I did get to give my buddy's cloud a whirl. I have to say, I was absolutely floored! I've been vaping for a long time, yet have only owned a PD and a herbalaire, however I have never tasted such rich delicious vapor before. Most noticeably the last few hits, which continue to still taste clean and rich. Whereas in my herbalaire and even my PD, when you get to those last few hits, at least with the clearly unflushed nugs we have here, they just taste horrible, totally unbearable for me. Yet with the cloud the last few hits don't, at least at the noon/2 o'clock position, get that horrible taste. The vapor simply thins out until its gone, I have never experienced this with any vape I've tried, and is by far what I dislike most about vaping. The cloud has truly surpassed my astronomical expectations, there is nothing more one could ask for in any vape.

As for the vertigo HT, I read some posts where someone had mentioned defects in the glass, and another who mentioned the vertigo glass was thin. I'm far from a glass expert, as the only "real" piece I've ever owned is a 250mm EHLE. However the quality of the glass work on the vertigo left me very impressed. I'm not sure if the vertigo is 5mm glass or not, but it's definitely not thin glass. It has a nice weight for it's size, and even the exposed joint appears to be rock solid and reinforced. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the vertigo, and am glad I went for the vertigo over the hydracric.

However, I do have one gripe with the vertigo, and seeing as it has little to do with the function of the piece, it still left me quite disappointed. The new logo vertigo is using, besides it being sore on the eyes, at least for me, is not at all well adhered to the glass. My buddy's vertigo came out of the box with the logo already flaking off, simply placing your finger on the logo causes it to flake off in chunks. Hopefully this is an isolated issue, and can be fixed for future vertigo HTs. However for me it's not much of an issue, as I'm really not a big fan of the new logo, and since it's already flaking it will be that much easier to remove it.

All being said, I think SM has really gone above and beyond with the production and the execution of the cloud. All I can say is thank you, really thank you for making one of the finest products I've ever had the chance to experience. Your sacrifices over these past two years have not gone unnoticed. Thank you SM and company, you guys truly deserve all the success that is coming your way.

I cut mine with scissors and let it dry on the tray for 5min put it in the elb loosely and hit it at nine, i definitely get clouds and one heck of a buzz that lasts. The key with convection vaporizing is air flow. I would put the kief on top of the bud and not sandwich it so to restrict air flow.

well I think(correct me if I'm wrong) that regardless of the quality, most of the people here cannot afford a 600$ vaporizer...
Not saying I wouldn't pay that price (perhaps if I can get a warranty for glass for lets say 100$ extra ,its worth it)

I understand that, of course. At the same time though, business drives innovation, and I wouldn't fault them (as I'm sure you wouldn't) for coming in at a higher retail price if the market allowed it. Look at the Volcano. It is expensive. But they sell a shit ton of those. S&B are sticklers about discounting their products because the demand remains so very high for them. I doubt the Cloud will be different.

More reason to pre-order. All the FC fans of this vape have a great opportunity still to get it for a good price.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I have a hunch that you may have a slightly defective unit. Please go to our Support Center http://www.vapexhale.com/support/ - and log a technical case with us. One of us will follow up with you to see if your unit is functioning correctly. If you have one that isn't functioning right, we'll get a replacement out to you shortly.

Just unboxed my Cloud....holy shit this thing is sexy. I have some obligations this evening, but you better believe I will be firing this baby up this evening. Some quick visual impressions.

The enclosure is really cool, I know others have commented but the faux wood grain aspect of it is really awesome and gives this unit a lot more style then you would expect. Only complaint about it is there are a few scratches near the top of my enclosure that expose the silver metal underneath (no big deal, bound to happen eventually and gives some character). I am also really impress how sturdy this sits on the table, I am much less concerned about this getting knocked over now.

On to the Hydratube....the Hydracirc FAR EXCEEDS my expectation, I am not even disappointed I didn't get the SGW anymore. I would hands down chose the in house glass every time, I am just blown away by the quality. No idea it would have so many slits and be such thick glass! Can't wait to take that first rip through it....I would lie if I didn't say I was giddy right now.

Some of the things I'm reading are starting to scare me a little as I'm probably way more OCD and anal about stuff like scratches, especially on a $500 unit. QC? I suppose time will tell with more reviews. Really appreciate the honest reviews even if it's not always positive.

Awesome :smug: ! that was my only concern

Sure it would be cool to have some stuff from SGW but I think its really cool to have in house glass.

Guess this just means i'll have to get something custom made by preston (SGW) in the future :)

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I wish I could have gotten a different HT as well. The Vertigo is nice but it scared me in how temperamtental it is to where its filled. I hadnt thought much about it until the guy a couple of pages back busted his when water went in there. Ive had a drop or two of water escape out the bottom of this thing from being slightly overfilled (Just above the slits) so now I have to fill it just to the top of the slits and hold it perfectly vertical to get the percs working. Any bit of tipping one way or the other and the water level drops below the slits and kills the perc action.
this plus what was said earlier about the splashguard of the vertigo not working well. is this a particular imperfection or the 'temperamental' standard of the vertigo tree that we should expect? any vertigo owners care to chime in?

I've never gotten any splash back from my Vertigo HydraTree and I fill mine way above the slits on the trees too. However, emptying the water once I'm done has been more of an issue with this tube than I expected. I can empty the water out of my double perc Roor easier than I can from this single perc tube. Definitely not a major problem though.

I can't see any problems with the splash guard, or even how a splash could get past it. The slits are just too small to allow a splash to hit, then continue upwards to your mouth. However, I've only had a limited time to play with the vertigo. My cloud and vertigo HT will be here tomorrow, so I'll have more time to play with it in the coming weeks. However I was quite impressed with the overall quality of the vertigo HT, I had begun to grow concerned after reading some posts here. I was left only with a very good initial impression with the vertigo. I personally, am very happy I went with one for myself.

Just got my e-mail from a Bryan Claus @vapexhale.com

I registered my information with the site it sent me to. Just waiting back on my confirmation. To be honest, when I first saw the subject line "It's your turn to order your VapeXhale Cloud" I thought it was some sort of mirage or evil joke.

The wait continues with a very strong light at the end of the tunnel. Or rather a green glow through a custom glass enclosure :brow:

i have one of the sandblasted vertigo ht. i put enough water to barely cover the horizontal slots. I have never had a tree so I don't know what to expect, but my tree has no drag and I don't get water past the splash guard. I did find out that i have to hold the tube vertical to get proper diffusion. I bought this unit planning on using my big stemless and I was pleasantly surprised with the ht. I would like to get one of the in house hydra circ. when they become available

Allmost all percs in tubes now a days are ment to be vertical and level. Tree percs for the most part are more sensitive to that vertical alignment, and it's easily visible when they aren't level.

Glad to see more reviews coming in from new Cloud owners. Thanks!
