Game of Thrones is awesome. I've been re-watching The Wire (my personal favorite show) in the interim while its been MIA.

What is amazing is that Game of Thrones will be shown in the UK the very next day after it is screened in the US. We normally have to wait an awfully long time. Unfortunately I don't have the particular channel so will have to look for torrent download anyway. And I might wait till the end if I can resist- weekly instalments frustrate me! lol. Looking forward to it though! I've been meaning to start reading a Song of Ice and Fire.....

I've never heard of this. I hate commercials so much I stopped watching tv years ago, except for F1 races. This could be interesting though, thanks for the tip *puts it on the to-download list*

As much as I dislike Sky, they have certainly done well in getting to show it the day after they do in the US.

Getting through the first book or two would be a great way to put off watching the program. Or if, like me, you're a bit lazy, you could always just download and listen to the audiobooks! They're unabridged, well read and it means you have both hands free to vape away while you listen.

Currently working my way through the 2nd book again - mainly because I am just so effortlessly and unashamedly cool I want to be able to spot the differences between the book and the series...

I've heard only good things about Game of Thrones. I no longer have HBO or any premium channels and for the most part it's not missed.

I bought a Roku box a few months ago and it's pretty damn incredible. Along with the some 400 built in channels, there's a constantly growing array of other "secret" or "private" Roku channels as well - a matter of searching for it. Like from here -
http://www.catastrophegirl.com/rokuchannellist.htm

It's not "free cable" or even the equivalent of cable but it's something else entirely. I get plenty of news channels options including BBC, RT, AlJazerra and CNN International - although I miss local news and real time MSNBC (Rachel Maddow is streamable nightly on the iTunes channel as well as the NBC Roku channel).

Netflix of course is awesome but I think any self respecting vaporist will latch onto "Pub D Hub" like it's manna from heaven. The "Gold" package of "Pub D Hub" is only $2 a year and there's just so much worth watching on it. Last night I watched a cool movie called "13 Ghosts." As I watched it it occurred to me that this is possibly the framework that "The Shining" was built off of as a story.

I also like "InfoWars" "Classical TV" "Justin TV" "The Horror Movie Channel" "Classic Westerns" "Crackle", "Popcorn" and so much more.

Roku is totally awesome.

Peter Dinklage offers up some of the funniest lines ever. Some of the best acting, by the whole crew, that I've ever seen in a TV series. LOTS of story lines going on in the season opener (had to give us some history so we can get our footing as well as to lay out what's ahead of us). For those of us who have not read the books, it was a bit much to take in all at once, but great none the less. I mean, where else do you get to see baby dragons perched on the shoulder of a warrior queen? :)

Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are currently the two best shows on TV IMO. Last night's episode was a great way to kick off the season.

I think it comes back in October, love that show also, but I love GOT even more now!

Watched half of season 1, do the characters get better or does it pick up? I liked it in a way but didn't care for the character development.

@ nosferato

Are you referring to the Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. Both pick up in excitement about halfway through the first season.

Oh I meant walking dead, the idea is cool but I think it could have been pulled off better, but maybe I should watch more.

The Walking Dead will spend a lot of the first season developing the main characters but this really helps lay the ground work for the end of the first season and the second season. My wife really got on board with it about halfway through the first season.

IMO I would continue watching the first season and see if it catches you. I enjoy plots with thorough character development. That's one reason I was such a big fan of 'Lost" even though a lot of people didn't like it. If you do decide to finish it let me know what you think.

As for Game of Thrones, I am counting the hours until Sunday!

I loved Lost also so I'll continue watching it! Another super funny stoner show is Archer, a must see. And season 2 is even better.

Speaking of stoner tv, when does Wilfred come back on? That was Fox wasn't it? Loved the original (Aussie) version when IFC was airing it . . .

Nosteratu, I think you and I have similar taste in television. Archer is my favorite animated show! Can't wait for season 3!

Archer is hilarious. I put it on sometimes on netflix during my vape sessions. Another great animated show is The Boondocks, which is as controversial for some as it is hilarious for me.

I just found a program called ted (Torrent Episode Downloader).
You just program in the shows you like, and it automagically finds torrents for each new episode as it becomes available.

It even auto-starts the torrent in utorrent for me. :D

Here's what I've been watching recently (that's airing now)
Awake
30 Rock
South Park
Game of thrones (haven't watched it yet, but have all 3 episodes ready and waiting in hd)
Community
The walking dead
Tosh.0

And on my list of highly awaited returns:
Dexter
Breaking bad
Sons of anarchy

And that's just my short list...
Ive got almost 2tb of tv shows stored away on harddrives now... (and I've got almost the same amount of movies)
I was recently watching the comedy channel on a friends cable tv, and with the exception of the daily show/Colbert report, I had every show that showed up over the course of 12 hours haha.

(t-dub, one of my favorite lines from Wilfred was "come on, let's get high... So we can go home and get high.")

^how's the quality of the shows? Is it all grainy and/or blurry? Back in the days when megavideo was around the quality of tv shows I watched were far lower than what you would get from hulu.

I just watch tv through netflix and hbogo. Mainly because IT has no commercials which keeps me sane as well as a ridiculous library combined of tv shows and movies to watch.. I only watch tv off the cable box to watch sports live, and even then I can watch some live sports through espn app on xbox 360. Any other show I wanna watch that's not on netflix or hbogo I DVR and catch it later. I absolutely abhor commercials.
