Discontinued Purple-Days Vaporizer

The purple-days is a handcrafted beauty! It fills a certain vapor niche, nearby the magic flight and reminiscent of the early days of vaporization. My only gripes are with the vapor tubes which you load herbs into. It just doesn't seem like the most efficient way to load herbs. Also the heat-up time is too long, making this a not-so-handy piece of equipment for a quick vape.

I think that while the purple-days is a nice vaporizer, it definitely leaves something to be desired for me.

To me,

Its greatest strengths are:
defining flavor, robust vapor, lightweight, handcrafted.
yet it lacks in:
availability, ease of use, heatup time, temperature precision

regarding ease of use and heat up time there is a slight learning curve. pack the tip loosely with well ground, dry herbs. if your pd is operating at the right temp you should get a full hit with a slow even draw. you will soon see that ease of use and heat up time are negligible.

another note about heat up time: don't unplug it.

I think they sold out already? LOL ...

Any idea when these will go into production, and perhaps more importantly when they'll be shipped?

Cheers!

Just out of curiosity, why isn't it available in Arizona? Do they have some new law?

What's the differece between American Cherrywood and Blackwalnut?

Should I cancel if I placed an order via Vapenow?

Hi NoSmoke,

In answer to your question, no it doesn't have anything to do with laws. I think it's been covered here before but just in case it hasn't, it has to do with Sales tax. AZ has like a triple layer of Sales taxes.

Hi Tacoboy,

Please shoot me an email about the woods. In answer to "Should I cancel if I placed an order via Vapenow?" No, please don't. Vapenow.com has them in Stock, ready to be shipped.

Ok I see, I was just curious I thought it was some new anti-paraphernalia law that I wasn't aware of, thanks for clearing that up for me.

baurman what helped, new transformer or magic tap?

I'm still confused about it. In the troubleshooting manual, it doesn't help much because all it says is there is nothing that can really go wrong with a PD and the only problem would be the A/C adapter. I unplugged the adapter and re-plugged it in, and I put my fingers on the heat exchanger and feel that it's getting hot. so I let it be. But then after 15 minutes, I feel the heat exchanger and it's completely cool to the touch. So I unplug it again and shake the PD and re-plug it in, and then I feel lit heating up again, and this time it heated up.

But now today, 2 days later, I went to pick it up to use it, and it was COLD again. It sucks having to re-plug it in and feel it heat up since it takes 30 minutes. I'm guessing the problem could be my A/C adapter is failing or losing it's power because I left it on 24/7 for like 8 months straight. Maybe I'll just buy a new adapter and if I still have a problem, then I will know the unit must have magically gotten defected overnight where it doesn't want to keep it's heat.

The car adaptor is the best test it seems, if that powers it up with no issues then it sounds like you got an adaptor problem.

hey everyone, im a regular lurker on the magic flight thread and post every so often and im probably going to order today

2 questions

1 what is the details on how the purple days is shipped? is it an unmarked box or what? plus how big is the box it ships in

2 if i am recieving the purple days as a gift from a friend, meaning he is ordering it, since his name is on the order, is only he covered with the warranty or can i keep the receipt and still be considered the "original owner" and not have to hassle with it being considered stolen or not under the original owner?

thanks in advance for the answers

cheers and happy vaping

will this work for the PD?

I Went to radio shack and was told only "alternating current" will work... I have no idea what that
means. So guess i have to order the replacement Adapter online, I just dont want to order the wrong one so if anyone can point me in the direction to purchase another adapter for the pd I would greatly appreciate it!!

This is my first post on the forum and wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the extremely helpful and detailed discussions on the various vaporizers. Since I found this site, I sold my Volcano and purchased an Extreme, Launch Box, and Vapor Genie, with the MFLB being used 99% of the time.

I ordered a Purple Days on Saturday, and I am SO excited for it to come. Now that I've completely given up combustion (finally!), I realize that it's very important for me to have a device that fits my usage pattern. My first vape was the Extreme, and even though I could get very high from it, I didn't like the whole process and just continued smoking spliffs for the most part.

The MFLB was much better since I could hit it instantly, whenever and wherever I wanted. Even though I'm happy with it, I still felt the need for a home vaporizer that was simple, efficient, and ready to go. The Purple Days fits this description perfectly, and now that I've spent more time than I care to admit reading about it, I just can't wait for it to get here.

Thanks to Tom and Pam for making such a great product! This is exactly the type of vaporizer I've been looking for.
