Best not to be using a tool to empty the stems anyway. It's a sure fire way to knock a screen out.
Never even came close to doing that, like i said i only go AROUND the inside of the metal tip, never poked into it and always stayed a safe distance from the screen, i only pushed on the side of the tip not the screen. Anyway, I dont need any of that anymore! But i agree. it seems like a lot of others have had their screen come out from using tools near it.
I used to blow the ABV out, but it was adding too much moisture I found, which helped it gunk up the residue/particulate. In addition, I do not like plastic, so I avoid it where I can.
Sounds like quite a stylish vapor tube Ed!

That's a good idea. I prefer a muslin bag. They're plentiful on Ebay and very inexpensive. Every few days I'll transfer the ABV to my jar and then get back to the task at hand.

I started using the muslin bag but i had so much ABV sticking to the loose fabric parts on the inside, and it seemed like when I blew the ABV into the bag, the material was thin enough that the abv "powder" would fly out of the bag with a woosh.
But definitely did like just being able to blow it all out.

The muslin bags have never appealed to me. 
One method is to use an empty bottle. The narrow neck at the top helps that "splash back" of abv. I've always just used mason jars. I guess I've just had enough practice now that I don't over blow the plug out. I haven't had an abv baptism for quite a while now. Watch...... it will happen tonight.....

After the bag is about an eighth full, it gets dumped into the Billy Bowl.

I keep a bunch of these bags around. They come in handy for other things that tie in with my personal vaping experience, like I enjoy herbal tea with my vaping and the muslin bags make very serviceable tea bags if you're using loose tea. I understand that ABV particles get stuck to the sides of the bag but it's very easy to turn it inside out and rub out the particles with your fingers. It's a positive, it's "bonus ABV." Again, just my preference, as Lwien says, it's "old school" but it's logical and it's almost perfect.

I wonder why you are the only one I've seen mentioning this. I don't use the bags myself for that same reason. I just tap most ABV out of my UD stem in to my ABV container, and then blow the rest in to the room and have it wait on the floor until I introduce it to my vacuum cleaner.

Well, I'm happy to say that I survived the night without an abv mishap.
For me, the bags are just sort of dirty and smelly. But, to each their own. As long as you're happy with what you've got going on, that's all that matters.

I kind of agree mom, but it's funny to think that it's a foodstuff inside for many of us! Although I do have serious troubles comprehemding that fact when I smell the stuff!Well, I'm happy to say that I survived the night without an abv mishap.

I just rap mine on the inside of a pint jelly jar and it falls right out. The SS tips really made a huge difference for me in that regard. I think you kids just miss spitwad fights so you're blowing these things out .
How bags are more old school than jars is beyond me. Jars are a tech that's not much newer than mud.
