Please see this issue of Treating Yourself on the strain "Cannatonic" by resin seeds.

Article starts on page 82. Like lwein stated its the ratio that is key here. Looks like a 1:1 ratio, like in Sativex, is what they are shooting for. Hashish, the article points out, is a good source for CDB/THC levels. Interesting to note that CBD has been all but bred out of most cannabis strains due to the emphasis on THC for so long. I would LOVE to try some of this.

Interesting read

In my personal experience, a THC:CBD ratio of 1:2 is best. 1:1 sounds ideal, but I have noticed that the effects of CBD in cannabis tend to wear off about half as soon as those of THC; in other words the half life of CBD seems to be half that of THC. A 1:1 ratio would be great initially, but as the dosage wears off, the individual is left with a high level of THC and a lower Level of CBD. This is probably most noticeable the day after having a massive session. I feel spaced out from all that smoking the night before. An introduction of a small dosage of CBD immediately countered the affects of 'spaced out feeling' I had.

IMO (I'm not a scientist here, just stating my personal observations)

I've been vaping an oil that has an estimated THC:CBD ratio of 1:2 (15%THC 30%CBD). It's been working well at easing anxiety without messing with my memory. This is great for those that don't like the spaced out feeling of high THC strains.

The simplest way to find out a correct ratio is to start with a high CBD oil and mix it with a high THC oil until you get the desired affects. Different ratios will affect your wellbeing in various ways. Mixing oils is easy, breeding plants is hard.

Some of this stuff just sounds incredible to be able to function a little bit more without getting that drowsy feeling would just be great.

VAPOLITICS!
I have been vaping 1 gram of "Venom" CO2 extract with approx. 15% THC and 35+% of CBD during my NorCal trip. Interesting high with a much more sharp body effect... though I am clearly a Sativa addict, and therefore a THC lover...

I know I'm resurrecting an ancient thread here, but this prompts me to ask a question that's been on my mind for awhile now. Does anybody know what the cannabinoid ratios were like in the most primitive cultivars of cannabis (used as a drug), before it went through the drastic changes that we see today?

From what I've heard, a lot of the patients are mixing the higher THC dominate strains with this batch of Harlequin which I've heard is super effective.
I'v had much success with that method helping others manage edibles.

I would purchase it just to do my own comparison atleast. Whether or not it was the best choice for me or my medical condition.
That is the only thing I use my local dispensary for.

My imaginary evil twin sister has had much success growing autoflower Kush variants for as a base medical strain. The ruderalis bumps up the CBD.

dgmulf: interesting. Hopefully someone knowledgable will chime in.

It has been shown that CBD was the main compound produced for thousands of years as cannabis was open field weed or hemp weed... over time birds and other wild life started to shit disperse the plant seeds to higher, hillier regions and the plant had to then strive more to survive by making more sticky resin to absorb the lessened pollen in those higher locals... hence the introduction of THC type compounds in the newly needed resins the plant produced... then these little Himalayan monk dudes walked upon this sticky plant and started breeding the plants to be even more sticky/introspective etc... now the monks are known as cannabis breeders the world over! cannabis was a main ingredient in the anointing oils for holy rights
