I think there is a place for Conduction based vapes, for solids or oils, etc. The e-cigs all over the market are conduction based fluid vaporizers, totally different than our herbal vaporizers. Since I'm mainly interested in vaporizing herbal plant matter, convection design is my preference.

Well I just have a bad taste in my mouth from my SSV days when I would accidentally combust.
With most vapes combustion is easily avoided. I've used an SSV for four years, including high temp use, and never combusted. As long as you can dial in the temp it's easy to tell when you're in the high temp range with harsh vapor and very dark ABV. Pushing it further is asking for trouble/combustion. It would never occur to me to avoid a vape that I like just because it's capable of reaching combustion. And with this one providing a digital display, it should be very easy indeed to avoid burning.

thanks for the explanation max. I think i'll reconsider this vape now, i think part of my frustration with the ssv combustion was accidental particle heating the heater on occasion as well. This won't be an issue with the davinci. I look forward to your opinions and reviews.

max, thanks for the explanation.

vape4life, we don't expect many people to heat up the highest temp. I'd say 99% of users will stay in the sweet spots for the herbs they are vaping, hence us adding a temp guide in the davinci package.

Why didn't the solo do the job enough for your preference? I don't understand, it's temps are an excellent range for both herb and concentrate. I don't see why the Davinci wouldn't simply follow those temps of 185-210C? No combustion, ever, at least in my experience of using various model solos since they were released.

You are correct though, there is no absolute NEED to hit those high temps, but why do they need to be so high? Is there some kind of substance that needs even higher than what the Solo can do at max? I don't get it, level 7 is almost too hot for concentrates I find. But to each their own.

Many of us use these vaporizers for medical applications. Medical marijuana's applied active ingredient is not THC but CDB as well as other cannabinoids. THC can ignite at 180'C, but CBD ignites at approximately 206' C and CBN (another ingredient) at 212'C. You often need to go above these temps to get more efficient ignition as well. Boiling point isn't enough, the chemicals need to burn, without burning the plant. That being said, often times the plant will burn, but not as much as if traditionally ignited.

For this reason and this reason alone, I will be buying the DaVinci. I am a medical user and have been looking for a portable vape that reaches 220'C.

It is also said that Volcano vaporizers are most efficient at 226'C.

Top end desktop vapes go up to 500F, though again, yes it depends on the condition of what is being vaped, and even so, you have to control yourself.

Thanks DaVinci!

All due respect Kenny, but I somewhat disagree with what you've written. Maybe it's just some confusion over the terms? There's no ignition going on. If there was, I'd throw my vape in the bin. Ignition = combustion. We definitely do not want these chemicals to burn- ignition effectively destroys the cannabinoids molecularly, rendering them useless for our purposes. This is one of the fundamental reasons why vaporizing is more 'efficient' than combustion- more of the active chemicals (cannabinoids) are released from the material and none are destroyed by ignition. :)

You can order directly from us http://www.karmaclassic.com/vaporizer and get free overnight shipping to the US/Canada and free Priority shipping to all other places in the world, so you can have your DaVinci right away.

You can also order from us on eBay, the ONLY place you can buy the DaVinci legally on Ebay:

You've heard the hype, now you can have a DaVinci of your own.

I want to thank everyone who pre-ordered and those who emailed us with questions, gave us feedback, etc. We took a lot of the advice and feedback given to us to improve what we feel was already a great product.

I appreciate the response Tyler. I am still learning about the chemical properties of cannabinoids in relation to vapes, so by all means I am no expert. But if ignition destroys cannabinoids, how are people getting pain relief and getting "high" from traditional smoking?

I think that the cannabinoids that do the work when smoking are released from the vicinity of the ignition/combustion, rather than the actual act combustion itself, if you get what I mean. But some will also be destroyed by the combustion.

We are looking at quite a few battery-related ideas for the next iteration of the DaVinci. We want to see more feedback from this generation too which will give us some ideas of what customers want and are looking for from future products. Customer feedback is of vital importance to us.

Just a heads up for those who've ordered recently. We hit a little bottleneck in shipping, so are seeing some minor delays getting everything sent out. I've upgrading everyone to express shipping for free to make up for inconvenience.

Our pre-order/first week numbers were through the roof. I'm hoping to see some great testimonial vids out there because I want to see how our actual customers view our product and give us the feedback we want/need to constantly provide the best quality products possible.

This does look veeeeerrrry interesting! I love it when the manufacturers open up about their product, it shows a lot of character, something most of mankind is short on these days.

Best of luck DiVinci, I will be waiting for the reviews to roll in. I do not mind spending the money on a kick ass vaporizer, if it works as well as it looks, I can't wait to add it to my collection!
