Underdog Log Vapes

I typical stem load is about .05g. About half the size I use to load with my MFLB as I recall. I will usually get about three thick hits and two smaller hits off one load. I very seldom use my UD's without glass anymore so I really can't say for leaving the stem on or not. Someone else will have to chime in.

Glad you are enjoying your UD. I personally recommend getting a VV power supply to help you dial in the temp that are just right for your needs.

Hey UDs.. I've got a question for those of you living Down Under (or those of you with good international GoogleFu): Where's a good place to get a 12v Aussie power supply for our Down Under pack members?

@ Gonzo - good news dude I see the USPS has a package 'out for delivery' for you.

It's hard to recommend anything from a local shop, as they'll just have the same thing you can get on ebay for a quarter of the price.

A few noob questions for a perfect sunday:

-How much do you load your stems? (compared to LB trench maybe?)
-How many puffs do you get from it?
-Do you leave your stem on the ud while not using it?

I know these questions have already been asked, I'm just wondering if your techniques improved :)

Have a nice day :peace:

i load about 3-7 mm of herb into a stem

I get 5-7 good puffs from that, i stir after maybe every 3rd puff

i leave my stem on i i plan on hitting it within the next 30s or don't want to stir it. othersie i leave it off the heater when not in use.

Okay, I have received my UD for a while now and I think it's time for me to review this thing. I will be rating everything out of 10.

Price - 9
The price of the UD is great for the quality you are getting. You also get so many little things that just makes the whole unit great. This unit also comes with Great Customer Service.

Taste - 8
The taste of the UD alone is good, but there is a slight bitter taste on your tongue after using it. The flavors of the materials you are using does come out strongly and evenly too. You will get massive clouds from the UD, no doubt. It is evenly yellowish brown ABV. If the UD is a little too hot for your lungs you could try moving the screen back a little. I personally enjoy my UD when used with a water filtration tool (WaterPipe). When used with a water pipe it removes the bitter taste and allows you to fully enjoy the taste of the material you are using. I would give it a 9/10 with a water-tool. I also must note that the vaporizer is extremely efficient! I find myself using less herb material to get to where I want to be.

Convenience - 10
The most convenient vaporizer I have ever used, this thing literally have 0 clean up time and 0 set up time. It's quick and easy to use and the learning curve is extremely low. I just plug my UD in, grind up my materials, grab some drinks, and food then I return for some nice thick vapor. The stem are great with convenience. I pack 2-4 stem per night and when I feel like I need some more vapor, I just go back, pull out a stem, and plug it into my UD.

Stealth - 10
The stealth of this unit is unbelievable. My UD is extremely small, but fits in your hands perfectly. There is a woodshop smell to the unit however, but that smell is a lot less noticeable with extended usage. The AC outlet plug is a bit bulky though. The mouthpieces are great for stealth. You can prepack them and also store them into the tube that they came with for a "NoSmell" solution.

As of now, the UD is my daily driver. If your looking for something a bit more stealth and reliable, but you don't want your flavor going down because of it; I would go with the UD vaporizer. It is extremely efficient and heat your herbs evenly. It is the most convenient vaporizer I have ever used. If you would like a cleaner taste, use the UD with a water tool and you will be in heaven. The unit is sturdy and looks like it can survive. I like to party, and my friends always ask me "Is it working?" when they are using my vape, but with the UD, they know it's working due to the massive clouds it produces. I love this vape!

nice review for sure man!

it totally is a super convenient vape to use.

I would like to comment on the stealth though. compared to other desktop vapes i suppose it is stealthy. it's a pretty piece of wood that you can place a copper aromatherapy cup on to disguise it. the stems are heat though. they stink and look like drug paraphernalia.
when I think of stealth I think of ability to hit it without drawing much attention to yourself, and for this the UD does not come to mind. the clouds you give off alone are a huge give away!

personally I think the UD is a great recommendation for people who don't want to consume a huge amount of herb, but still like to get good and ripped via huge clouds. I totally agree this vape is much better with water filtration too btw.

I've been using some bubble hash I had gotten in my twig recently and man does it produce huge clouds! (and a ton of them at that!) Using my 18" straight tube with Alex K showerhead downstem. Of course this bubble doesn't bubble so that is the only reason it is working so well, some might confuse the clouds for smoke as dense as they are getting! 4 months smoke-free more me, vapor tastes so much better and cleaner!

A very special package arrived in the mail from Dave today and I wanted to share some pics with you guys as I know many of you appreciate fine wood work as much as I do. I had ordered some accessories as well as sent one of my pups in for a vet visit but Dave with his excellent customer service went above and beyond.

A while back I contacted Dave about photos of custom fish clubs he had made in the past. Today a package arrived at my door with my goodeis, and a beautiful Lignum Vitae fish club made from a piece of leftover wood that was too small to use for a UD. I think it came out gorgeous.

For those who have not followed the thread from the beginning the UD in the pictures is the Tupelo Goblet. It has been owned by more than one of our fellow FC members (Including myself) and because of the soft wood has been known to have core loosening issues. It was also my first UD which also gives it a special place in my pack. I think Dave will back me up on this though in saying that because of the soft wood it also hits extremely hard. After the last core loosening I mailed it back to Dave and thought that it would be retired into the UD Hall Of Fame. Well... Dave had other plans. He designed a core to bring this well loved pup back to life and it is now at home with it's fellow pack. I think this will be it's last ride but not sure how long the ride is gonna last.

One unique aspect of this UD was always the quick warm up time. With this last visit it now reaches vaping temp in 10 minutes which is without a doubt the the quickest heat up time of any of my UD's. I intend to treat this pup very gently and will now turn it off after each use instead of the 24/7 workload my other pups receive. I was so happy to get my first pup back today that I had to share it with you guys.

I also got a a few emails from people asking about the Dirty Rico Bubbler I purchased so I snapped a picture of that as well. Still trying to figure out photographing glass though so bare with me.

@Gonzo after the review by VapingDitto, i have to seriously consider getting a UD already. There was some videos that you did with bubbler, just wondering which one you got http://www.cybershed.com/gravlabs-bubbler-p-1316.html
or http://cybershed.com/gravlabs-showerhead-bubbler-p-1467.html?

when i use the lotus w/o water filtration, it feels the hottish feelings on my tongue, so the bubbler idea sounds goods. Do you still use the bubbler often, and you still happy with it?http://www.fuckcombustion.com/members/vapingditto.6624/

@sunsett70

I no longer have that bubbler. It worked very well with the UD but after posting the video I was contacted by a fellow UD member that could not purchase it because they were in Austrailia. I sold it to him and purchased this to replace it...

http://www.boroworx.com/product/cb-49

Both perform great but I prefer the Silika because it was a showerhead design (This is just personal preference). Either would be a good choice as a nice stealth bubbler for the UD.

I very rarely use the UD now without water filtration but that is once again person al preference. If I do use it without water it is with one of Dave's glass stems.

BTW Dave, thank you as well for the glass stem you included in my box. I tried it out earlier and really like it.

glad to see the tupelo running still, she really is a gorgeous piece of work and quite the performer, being my first underdog vape as well, the goblet will always hold a special place in my heart too. i hope that her lifespan will be filled with much vapory goodness, tupelo is quite a unique and awesome wood!

@weedemon I agree with you completely. While in use, it is extremely obvious that it is a vaporizer. What I meant when I said stealth is when it is just sitting on your desk, it blends in. In comparison to a extreme Q or a SSV, the UD is much more discrete. With the Extreme and the SSV, i would have to pack it up and put it away under my bed, inside a bag. With the UD, I can just leave it out without fearing too much. I would need to hide the stem, but that's about it. (I live in a apartment with a room-mate that is anti-happy) Yesterday, I just left my UD out plugged into the wall with the aromatherapy cup on it, my roommate actually gave me essential oils to put in it! He will never know the secret talent of the UD! >:)

Thanks Stroh, she is quite the performer. Sadly that is also her downfall though ;) I am gonna do my best to take care of her. Hopefully the non 24/7 use will help take the load off.

*Edit*

That's awesome vapingditto. Once again the stealth of the UD pays off :ninja:

compared to the now out of business purple days it's night and day via the airflow restrictions. they are basically opposite end of of the log spectrum. one is hard to breathe though, the other flows much better and makes more heat too!

finally got my UD today! :D I ordered the Bamboo Twig as soon as I heard its existence.

first thing i have to say is, Dave, I absolutely love you. not only did Dave include a bunch of extra goodies but he also was gracious enough to provide me with a lost dog, the Big Bamboo log! i love both of them! being Chinese, these two bamboo UD's are perfect for me lol.

i plugged in the twig as soon as i got back to my room and was able to try out my first UD for the first time right at 4:20  But HOLY GOD did i get a huge first hit. I decided to just rip it to make that first hit memorable and got a huge cloud. Never before have I coughed from a big vapor hit, can't even remember the last time i coughed from combustion. I'm already done vaping for a while off of that one hit cause it got me pretty vaked. I think it goes without said that this is a huge step up from my MFLB.

After trying the MFLB, the EQ and the Volcano, I definitely like the UD more than all of them. There is literally no learning curve, which is nice seeing as how that's the opposite with the MFLB. They both look great too and sit real nice together on my window sill.

I really can't thank you enough Dave. I'm absolutely in love with this pair of dogs I have hear. Can't be any happier to tell you to truth.

(i think i had more to say but that hit got me so vaked i don't remember...)
