hey SF, thanks for the kind words, i double boil my oil until all of the large bubbles have popped, accelerating the process by razing with my torch. i then oven purge my errl for about 5-10 minutes depending on the batch at 170F, then put it back on the hot water for around 10-20 more minutes until it is transparent. after that i scrape it up, squish it on parchment paper and spread it out, and see if i have any cloudy patches, i then raze these with my torch and then heat and let it settle into my dish. my key to an easier purge is spray as THINLY as possible, get the most surface area you can, this lets the butane escape much easier.
I need to start using this torch method i see everywhere, im just scared lol. My small runs come out great, sappy see threw oil. But when im doing slightly larger batches like 4-5g, its always waxy, even after like a couple hour purge. Its still easily dabable, its not like flaky budder, even after a month its still waxy, but i prefer that sappy oil.

Had my first blowout yesterday. Bought an oz of trim and sifted it with dry ice to cut down on the material I needed to run. Used a homemade sifter and ended up with ~7g of material; prob about 5g Kief and 2g plant material. I was going to soak it in butane instead of running it through a tube, but I was lazy and didn't want the extra filter step involved.
So I put it in the tube w/ stainless steel mesh zp-tied on for a screen. I noticed before running, that the screen wasn't attached as well as it could be, but chose to use it anyway. And that was my mistake; maybe 3 seconds into the can, the whole screen shot off with a champagne-esque pop. Half the Kief ended up in the collection pan, the rest was lost on my balcony. I salvaged what I could and put it through a shitty ethanol wash. Ended up with ~1g of some green-ass oil. Just glad I didn't use an oz of good buds.

my last two micro runs. I actually fucked up and ran the oil in the second pic without a screen, so it had to go through a ethanol wash as well. first pic is all butane though, also used 100% kief with that one.

definitely tastes better than a bud run, but not significantly so. main difference is the potency, which seems much higher. also if you're gonna put in a tube, make sure you mix bud in with it. I tried doing an all kief run in a glass tube and had the screen blowout, way more pressurized than flowers. that first pic was done with the soak method, since I was kind of paranoid about another kief blowout.

I am saving up my crystal collection to do a butane run on. you say to mix it with a bud run for pressure reasons? I was worried about such a large void space in the tube myself, but im using a metal mesh screen to do my runs, so im confident it will not blow out still.

the void space doesn't really matter. The point of the bud is to reduce compression of the plant material. When you run straight Kief, the smaller particles are easiily compressed by the butane, which increases pressure/blowout risk, since the gas cant escape as easily. So the best way I've found to run Kief, is to mix it with coarsely chopped bud and pack the whole mixture into your tube. The coarseness of the bud helps prevent excessive pressure. When I had my blowout, I used ss mesh screen, and the pressure was strong enough to tear it out from under a zip tie. Really do need to get a hose clamp like stroh suggested.
This is the soak method.

I have never seen one without the fitting for the butane can. How would I know what size fitting to use? Any help is really appreciated.

Yeah, I figured the seller would make it a pretty standard fitting but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this. For $15 I pulled the trigger and emailed the seller to see which fitting to have on hand. A 7g-10g load was about the size I was looking for and I will post results when it arrives. It is US glass made in Oregon so I'm hoping it is descent quality.

hey weedemon, i actually got my new extractor from a canadian local glassblower, who goes by the name if Asian Invasion Glass, look him up on facebook and shoot him a message, im sure he could hook you up. It cost about 30 for a set of 2 or 3 i think, and you can specify what kind of sizes you would like. mine is about 7 inches i would say in length. thank you for the kind words gonzo, i quite enjoy looking at it after dabbing 
, the work is indeed beautiful! that extractor tube would work just fine, that style is fairly popular among glass extractors, both of mine have been in that shape, though some blowers also make ones with GONG fittings.
