Discontinued ThermoVape Revolution for concentrates

OHHHH I think I am starting to get it. Basically what is being suggested is to use the Omicron top on the T1 bottom. I thought that the carts were somehow being put inside the Revolution adapter:doh:. I ordered one cartridge and the fill tool from Planet Vape, as well as the adapter posted. Thanks for the help OF!

All I have access to is ISO at the moment. That being said, with the weather here heating up I could always try my hand at BHO (although I am bound to have a hundred more stupid questions).

I feel like I will use the Omicron cart when I am on the road and busy, the little sips can maintain my comfort level. When I am at home and want to fade away I can take bug rips with the Revolution top. Sounds about right?

A great professor of mine said: "Acknowledgement in which you do not know is the greatest form of wisdom"
Yes, you could always take small hits from the Rev but the idea is the ease of use with a single fill. BHO is not difficult at all but do research and proper safety. I feel that its a lot less work than QWISO and the product is a lot more pure (no plant material) and flavorful.

@ioright-BHO is super easy...DO IT OUTSIDE!!!! purge slow and low, you'll be fine.

OF - I had a shipping question for electronic cigz, and the rep asked what model I was going to use the adapter on, so I told him "thermovape revolution". the guy googled it, and is now trying to understand just what the hell crazy contraptions we're all using:

"I’ve taken a look at the product. Looks very interesting. I’m a bit confused... It looks like the thermovape unit is made for smoking marijuana...? And the omnicron cart is used for e-liquid? Is the omnicron basically a 601 cartomizer?"

I broke it down for him :)

FWIW I have been using QWISO both in the Rev. and in the v1 Omicron carts.
As long as the emphasis is on Q as in QUICK, the results are readily used in either
machine....

Same here. No problems at all.

This is so cool. I duck out for a couple of hours (to make a run to Elemental to replace supplies, so it's excused....) and some good folks fill in for the answering of the questions part. I should duck out more often it seems.

I think everything is up to date? 4 Ohm Omicron carts to use at six volts with the standard battery for Revolution. Not to confuse it with T1 of course (which has no threads for a cart). The Revolution uses 510 series threads (like lots of e-cigs), Omicron uses somewhat rare 601 threads so you need a thread adapter. ISO can/will wash plant stuff into the oil that will foul the cart (Omicron or Revolution, the later you can clean, the Omicron you have to scrap). Obviously, the higher the grade the better, but it will work. You get to decide if the shorter life and (IMO) taste issues are a good trade off.

I think that's the lot. If I left someone hanging, please let me know?

Teamwork! That's what made America great. Thanks guys, hope good vaping follows for one and all.

Well assuming I have everything I need (T1 bottom, Revolution adapter, thread adapters to make it into a 601, and an Omicron cart) I think I am good to go!

Budderking Budder is made using ISO and it has been tested at 99% THC. To me this means it IS possible to produce a pure enough product for use in the Omicron carts. That being said, I think the purging of butane is much faster than ISO and the chances of an inferior product are slightly lower. Do you guys build your own oil rigs to run the butane through or would it be okay for me to purchase a glass tube with coffee filters on the end (from my local headshop).

So many questions...

Their are THC isolates and such in rare cases but majority of the people can not attain those degrees of standards. Dry shifting (FMCD) which I LOVE is an art that requires a lot of knowledge and practice to perfect the technique, I get pretty good stuff but not as great as others and do not have as much quantity as others.

BHO is an easier method of obtaining higher quality extracts than iso. Also if you want to get a really pure extract instead of using IPA use a high proof alco or pure ethanol. The high the purity of the solvent, the lower the impurity of the oil. Also distilled water is inside most IPA (defined by the %) which results in plant material in the end product which can be observed by a greenish-dark tint to oils. I can get purer extraction (cannaboinoid content and terpenes) with BHO and my Vac purging.

The general advice is 'glass or stainless steel only'. Avoid kluges made with PVC pipe and other plastics. Some guys use stainless steel Turkey basters. IMO the head shop version should work just fine. Use only top quality Butane (you 'smoke' the junk in there.....), read up on the process, watch a few videos and respect the dangers of using Butane and you'll be fine and in a better place....

If you want really good oil out, don't put trash in. Use the good bud.

Ok butterfingers...you know who you are....raise your hand. And yes, my hand is up too. Got a tip for all of you, you may have already figured this out, but I did yesterday. So I got my Rev nice and hot to pull it apart. I get the top part off (for some reason I was grabbing it by the metal....there had to be a reason, right?) and it somehow slips from my hand and of course when it hits the carpet, it hits gooey side down. So there is a ring of gunk on the carpet, what do you do? I ran and wetted a rag and scrubbed to no avail. So I think, what do I use to get the stickiness off my fingers when I am dealing with bud? I'm not gonna try ipa...olive oil! I drip olive oil on the ring, let it sit for about 10 seconds to soak into the carpet, and scrub. With little elbow grease it came right up. So like I said, some may have already known about the olive oil tip, but for those of you who didn't...

Well, there you have it...my biggest contribution to this forum, lol.

Of course it did. It was guided by the system developed years ago for toast with jam on only one side. Easy technology.

Good tip on the olive oil, wouldn't have thought of it. Thanks.

I can assume we're not talking a rental apartment here?

I got the filter tip and the glass adapter today, I added water as directed on the web site and the filter does seem to smooth out the hit a bit, slows the draw just a little, but not enough to make me strain to get a hit in any way. I have only tried it on my Rev. so far, haven't had time to test it else where, maybe tomorrow. The glass adapter fits my devices well too, the O ring makes a good seal. I don't have anything 18mm to try it on yet, but I am guessing it works well since the 14mm fits so well.

I had to drive for a while, but I finally picked up some "pure gold" today. I did an iso soak and boil on my Rev so it was as good as new. I just plopped in a few drops and all I can say is :mmmm:.

So how hard is it supposed to be to get a draw? Many times I find that I have to take a minute break just to catch my breath after a pull. Seems like the airflow in my rev is very restrictive. Am I doing something wrong?

Are you getting the goods? How can it really be all that wrong if you don't break anything and do get off?

Like Omicron, I don't think you want to pull at all fast. For sure pulling hard on mine is less effective IMO. Vapor is only being produced so fast, pulling can only slow that down with more air to heat. All we have to do is pull hard enough to clear the vapors, I often times try to pull as slow as I can in fact. Go too slow and vapor can back up and even come out the 'air in' ports at the base of the cart.

I'd suggest slacking off a bit and seeing how that works for you. Go with results. Experiment a bit, the machine knows what's best......

I've had this problem a couple of times, but it was related to my having loaded too much in I think. Taking some out seemed to help restore the draw.
There is a bit of a learning curve, but its fun learning!

Yeah, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now. I just finished most of what was in there. Sipping on it like suggested. I would liken it to hitting a touch that you don't want to suck the cherry in your mouth. Was hitting real good, clouds anyway. I just went and loaded another dab, probably close to .1g...a tad less. Anyway, it's like it clogs the air holes in the bottom and you (I) have to hit it like a cigarette until the air holes get clear. Definetly a learning curve. just have to get rid of the metallic taste, other than that...I am really liking this.

Thought of a question regarding loading this thing, and this will be my next test when I load it. I have been top loading it and taking my butane torch and taking one, maybe two quick passes where it is stuck to the sidewall, and then again near the base to let the oil settle over the ceramic. Should I be wanting the oil to stick to the side, but not pooling on the ceramic disc to create better airflow? Man...that was a long setup for a question.

stuck a 2.5 ohm on the rev with an adapter.... i know its not correct for 6v but hey ill sacrifice a cart for a good time. just light on off cycles thru a bong. oh my god....wish i got it on video... ive nevet seen the bong that whitewalled with vapor. no bad tastes was pure awesome tasting errl vapor. never gotten that high that fast. but please everyone buy the correct ohms.... omicron carts are too good to waste like that.

Shoot think i washed the switch..:(
2nd edit: is there any way to save it!!!

Great, we're making progress. Who knows, by the time you get a handle on it hopefully the taste will be squared away as well.

Blazing gives you the wrong instincts for these guys I think. There you pull on it, air comes in, the cherry fires up and more heat is generated. More than enough to heat the cold air coming in, the works gets hotter and fast as the mass is low. Here we have maximum heat energy available with no air movement. The draw can only cool it off. Pull harder, cool more. If you could force enough air in it'd be air cooled and never vape anything.

I tend to load a little less than that for that reason, I don't like flooding it. The idea is to melt the oil into the ceramic. It's not all that big, there are two pieces, the one you see (quite thin) and a ring around the heater itself below it. It's maybe 1/8 inch tall and maybe 1/16 or a little more thick in the wall. Like I said, it has the heater inside it and the tube outside, not much room. Even less than it looks like from the outside since the heater is actually inside the brass base which is itself inside the plated outer tube. TV says it'll hold 4 or 5 drops, I figure when I recharge I've already got 1 or 2 left from before.

BTW, the spot that jams is below that, in the threaded bit where the input holes are above the threads. Get too much in there and it can run into the switch....I was warned not to do that early on.

So that's how I load (usually down the top or through the window by pulling the top half straight up (no mess afterward). I put it directly on the floor and heat it until it melts in before putting it back together and hitting it. Oil gets dripped directly on. Bubble or similar hash gets melted some and poked down solidly with a toothpick before showtime. The latter needs to be stirred every hit or two since it won't melt in but the results can be well worth it.

Play with it. As they say 'it wants to teach you how to use it'.

Ya, after the initial new toy phase, my technique has become to only load as much as I want to get toasty, usually between .02 and .05. it is reallllly easy to over do it with this monster. I top load, and drop it right onto ceramic. I've been running it through my bong, the visual feedback is a great teaching tool. I give a 10 second or so warm up, and then I take gentle puffs until I see vapor bubble up through the water. At this point I release the switch, and am usually able fill my one-foot straight tube at least 70% with vapor. I get 2-4 tasty rips that way, they aren't big enough to cause the errl coughing I'm used to, but they're enough to get me pleasantly ripped :)

No matter how careful I am, I seem to get the window sticky after a while. I don't even load through the window, rather down the top. Is there any word on when a windowless Rev might get released? I'll be the first in line waving greenbacks....
