Prepping to vaporize mint?

Does anyone know how to prepare an herb to be used in a vaporizer? The warm weather is starting to begin and i am fortunate enough to have a garden full of mint plants. i want to be able to use some of these mint leaves in my vaporizer but i don't know the process of making an herb vaporize-able.

i have an idea on what to do but was wondering what you guys think. i feel like i just need to pick the amount of mints leaves that i would like to use and leave them out to dry out to the point where i i can crush them up to powder-ish consistency for vaping. thoughts?

Hey HES, why not experiment for us all. I have a feeling that with something like mint if it gets too dry the taste profile will be diminished. Try with a few grades of moisture and see what gives the best flavour and also what gives the best vapor production and then please report back.

yea i'll make sure to do that. probably won't be for a while since they're still not in season yet but i'll definitely post up the results when i give it a try. another reason to be eager for spring!

I'd dry it just the way I do bud trim. Place the leaves on ripped up grocery bags under a fan for a few days. Dry and warm room preferable. 2 or 3 times a day turn them over till they are dry.

Somewhat OT, but a question for you American folk who adopt this strange silent 'h' for herb. Would you say 'an herbivore' and 'an herbaceous', or is the 'h' reinstated for these and 'a' used instead of 'an'?

I think mint might vape well still damp. Even try some fresh.

edit- just seen you've a magic flight OP. I don't think it's got the power to vape undried herbs so I think they'll need to be dry. Fresher might work in another vape though

hmm that's a good question WatTyler. I'm pretty sure that most people would say "an herbivore" even though the rule should be "a" instead of "an".

i think we can all agree, Native and Non-Native speakers, that the english language and its rules are quite a paradox :ko:

When you grow pot the last 7-10 days the plant is given no nutrients just plain water to 'flush' out any traces of nutrients in the plant matter. If your mint is being grown outdoors with no nutrients it won't be an issue for you.

CHEI, i haven't been able to do this yet because the mint hasn't begun to sprout yet. i just wanted insight from FC before i tried anything. by the time i can try to vape fresh mint i'll have my Underdog as well as the Magic Flight Launch Box. I'll try it with both and post the results in a few months.

I just ordered a UD ! I'm stoked. My LB was causing destruction to my respiratory track so I am back to combusting unfortunately for now till UD gets here (already on its way). I contacted magic flight and they say wait a few days.

lower temperatures are better to vape peppermint i believe. it's been a few years since i tried it. it's refreshing though! my volcano manual had suggested temp ranges for other herbs... 1 or 2 i think was where mint was at.

@Tom- my mint plants have still yet to sprout yet so I probably wont be able to post my results til probably about May or April.

@Weedemon- thanks for that bit of info. Ill have to make sure I adjust my stems screen when I try it out on the UD.

i also used to vape lemon balm, one was super low, and one was about half that i would notmally vape weed at. so either way it's a lower temp for sure :)
