Can't stop the head rush!
Another head's up...I dont think he was poking fun at your estimate of room temp. U got some funny posts though

I dont think people realized there is a temperature range with herb that doesn't really make a difference. I think its 390F-410F where no known compounds boil off. That would mean its best to vape at 390F(low temp vapor) or then 410-428F(high temp vapor) Vaping at 400F you are just giving yourself 10 degrees of extra heat that isnt needed, you're just making it hotter on yourself. Then again we don't really kniow because there is no digital temp vape available that reads an accurate temp. Its arguable the volcano is pretty damn close and it goes to show most people use it from about 370 to 400F. Any hotter and flavor declines but people argue you get more sedative coumpounds upwards of 420F. I hope the cloud can reach 445F so we can fully vape all concentrates. This is all speculation I suppose because the numbers are based on independent research no formal studies have been done.

I would just add that with the number of variables that effect the vaporization process itself, it is just not feasible to determine the actual temp throughout - at best, all there is, is a somewhat close approximation of the airflow temp entering the ELB. Besides moisture, quantity, pack, and force of airflow, with the Cloud there are also the ELB air turbulence and air pressure factors. I was struck by the findings from a lab study done using the Volcano set at 438F with thermocouples added for measurement accuracy. The temp entering the bowl was 424F and the temp exiting the bowl was only 311F. This demonstrated how substantially temperature can change as the airflow moves through the bowl and with gas conversion, energy is absorbed (or thrown off) and the temp falls. And this doesn't even consider the effect of strain concentration, density, and canniboid ratios relative to the temp. Consequently I look at vape temp settings, regardless whether analog or digital, as just approximate starting points, and that in the end this is highly subjective for every user.

ok i just realized that my previous estimate about how many degrees(F) per hour the dial adjusts is wrong. i assumed that the vxc turned on at the 9am position. so, if the vxc turns on at 6am, (what is the correct ON position?) then it would be safe to half my estimate of 110F per hour. since room temp is variable by10F or more, especially if your lucky enough to live in hawaii like pakalolo pretends, versus someone in northern canada, i would guess now that 60F+/-(?) per hour, would be somewhat accurate.

in the end, it doesn't really matter what temp the dial puts you at, as long as the next time you put the dial there it gives you the exact same performance it did the last time. consistency is more valuable then actual numbers, imo.
i am not making fun just stating an opinion with the relevant supporting facts. It is like joe friday said" Just he facts ..." and then you can make up your own mind. my advise to anyone is too start low and turn it up until you reach the high that you want to achieve. my sweet spot seems to be 9 oclock.

notmyrealUSERname: I thinkthe Cloud doesn't make room temperature when at it's lowest setting. I remember people here telling that they were getting very tasty low temp hits on it's lowest. So the difference per hour should be even lower than 60°F.

Very good advice. I thought it interesting that SM's personal pref is 10 o'clock, while the customer feedback consensus is 12 o'clock. Different strokes . . . and part of the fun is finding out.

i think its easy to understand, some folks like low temp vapes, some like higher..

There seems to be a difference in the moisture level (it seems higher) below 12:00. I was somewhere around 10:30 and noticed that the downstem was foggy with condensation! :mmmm:

I received my Cloud today and the only thing that I can add to the reviews above is that this is one bad ass, state of the art, direct draw vape. Love the Vertigo tube. Great job SM and VXC crew!

This afternoon's forecast? Cloudy with fog... :ko:

Im too jealous of you, Mom. :(

How well does the unit balance on a flat desk, unit with HydraTube, and hydratube itself?

The unit itself balances just fine. I won't be leaving the HT on it, but if you were storing it that way in a place it wouldn't be knocked over easily, I suppose it would be okay. I personally wouldn't take the chance of breaking the glass though. And, it's a little precarious standing by itself for any amount of time, IMO. A good bump to the table would knock it down. I feel better putting it in a secure spot while not in use. Shit, I'm going to be treating it with kid gloves!

Congratulations, mom! I'm happy for you and am stoked to read about your experiences.

I check my email ALL the time. That may not be surprising to you and many who follow this thread. But get this: I pre-ordered on February 8, 2012! I have NO SHOT at getting an email anytime soon, yet I find myself checking for an order email? WOW. I'm VERY keen on this vaporizer and have read all there is to read about it (that I can find), so I'm a tad obsessed right now. Not crazy stalker-like obsessed, but close. :mmmm:

Cheers!

Congrats mom! I bet you are on happy camper. I almost want to ask how the Cloud compares to some others, but i know thats a question best discussed elsewhere

@rhygin - The shopping cart for whatever reason is not configured correctly. We are working on it as we speak. Sorry for the delays but we will reach out once it is fully tested and ready to go.

On another note, the official VapeXhale instructional video, thanks @troi for producing the video :)

From the instructional video:

To clean the EZB, soak in ISO and rinse in water, and then put it in the oven @ 250 for 20 minutes

o_O
never heard of doing this to clean vapor parts
I thought with a water rinse any trace iso will evaporate 100% on its own?

still doesnt sound like a bad idea
