Where have all the indicas gone?

I was just thinking of some medicine that has been around lately and it made me think that it seems sativas have saturated the market, what are some of your guys favorite indica dominate or pure indica strains? One of mine has always been Maple, so skunky and dark mmmmm and of course the awesome earthy afghani, and the true classic skunk!

Thanks for your participation?

chances are that we are in different "markets", but I too have noticed an influx in sativas over the last year. my supplier suggests that the drop in indicas is due the proliferation of good outdoors that are making their way across the country from california. again -- this is market specific, and we are likely in different markets. but i hear you!

Yea, I liked san fran for sure, was great to be able to walk into a shop and choose exactly what you want, but yea medical strains seam to be predominately sativa nowadays...

i dont see many sativas around me, all indica or indica dominant, maybe 50/50 at best. I want a real deal 13 week flowering sativa, wont get any of those without growing though. The sativa high is really desirable to alot of people, which is why there are so many hybrids, brings down the flowering time but still has some sativa kick.

I like the idea of a Sativa, but find the Indica's give me that kick-in-the-face I need to step back after just a couple of pulls.
So, for me it's been trying to find the most potent strains, and over the last few years those have been:

Louis Vuitton, Bayside, Long Beach, $80/E, 8/10
Ultimate Marilyn, Bayside, Long Beach, $75/E, 8/10
N1, CPA/Nuggetry (in-house strain), Santa Ana, CA $55/E, 7.5/10
King Louis XIII, Westminster Wellness Center (defunct), Westminster, CA $60/E, 7.5/10
Skywalker OG, 7/10
Fire OG (aka Raskal's OG), 7/10

skywalker and fire vary depending on grow skill however, i've had some I'd rate 8.5/10, but some only 6.5/10.

Some people have suggested a pre-98 or Bubba, but I haven't met a bubba i'd give more than a 6.5 to.

You should easily be able to find Indicas or Indica dominant strains if you want them.

Its just your area. Major medical marijuana cities will have access too 100's if not 1000's of different strains if you have the $ to spend. The clinic I goto now has all these bubba/master variants under different names but those strains usually put me to sleep. I recommend search for a good OG kush.

IME, here in the LA area, I'd say most dispensaries carry more indicas than sativas, still. The last time I went to my dispensary, they had about 20 indicas and only about 5 sativas. But it all depends on the dispensary. I've seen some that have an equal dozen or so of indicas, sativas, or hybrids. It really depends on the dispensary around here, but indicas still seem to be prevalent.

There are a ton of indicas in my area as well. My guess would be that since sativas have a higher yield they are probably going to be more prevalent in your area and indicas are going to be harder to find. Unless you live in a state with medical cannabis, that's just wierd then. Favorite indica strain is Granddaddy Purp by the way.

GDP is my all time favorite as well. :myday:

Lucky for me that it's also one of the most popular strains at the dispensaries, so it's always available. Most of my other favorites only come around once in a blue moon.

um... sativa's higher yield? per plant maybe, but if you factor in time indica's yield a lot more. wich is why all the sativa's around here are more expensive as the typical commercial strains wich are more indicadominant

Plenty of Indicas here, Central Valley, CA. Though, I won't smoke a pure Indica, unless I want to be laid up on the couch all day long. No thanks. Plus, since it doesn't address my medicinal needs, I don't bother. I usually keep an Indica dominant strain, around however... just for night time, chilling out, sleep use.

I always vape indicas before bed as it really helps me sleep. The night before last I was laying in bed and my mind wouldn't stop racing and I couldn't sleep at all. I quickly realized that I must've made a mistake and vape a sativa by accident. Sure enough, the next morning I checked the strain, and while I thought it was an indica (Silver Haze) it was just a brainfart as it was indeed 100% sativa.

hazes are all sativas from what I know. Even the real purple haze which is actually just haze that is purple and not a "purple strain". Where have all the good purples gone is a better question. The last purps I saw was some gorilla OG. Not a standard purple strain but it was all purple. I think bomb (and actually purple)purps should always be on the menu.

Same here

indicas are great for pain and sleep, I have several issues where this is a great benifit.

sativas definitely get my mind and head going, sometimes gives me sweaty palms and adrenaline surges, great for outdoors or social activities, writing and such

But indicas are my favorite, We had some Grape Ape around for a minute, very tasty

I hadn't vaped any indica for a long time being a sativa fan and just by coincidence someone had some really good cheese (good british cheese not the sativa knock off from other countries, yes there is a huge difference) and it was a real delight id forgotten how much i loved losing myself in a good indica.

Being in the UK the birth place of cheese we are always able to score some indica around here.
