I'm looking for a vaporizer that will provide thick, tasty, pure vapor. I will also plan on using a bong with it. What are the pros and cons of each? Which one provides thicker clouds? Thanks.

They will both work really well. The UD should have a higher vapor to air ratio. As far as taste I think most if not all people will agree that while a whip provides nice cooling and air path, it really robs the flavor.
Both are solid vapes so it comes down to preference. Both should be very pure vapor.

Another vote for the UD, when I first upgraded to it from my MFLB I honestly thought I had combusted the entire bowl because I had gotten such thick vapor. I suggest you get an Ubertwig, it heats up faster and it's a little cheaper. And if you dont have any glass, make sure you get the Aqua Vape. It really makes a big difference: me and my friends often do a 'one hit challenge' where we pack a lot into a stem and try to finish it all in one hit. This isn't even close to possible for me without the water filtration.

Being the owner of an SSV and previous owner of a log vape, both have their pros and cons. SSV worked nicely with the water pipe adapter but was kind of a pain in the ass having to bong with a whip in the equation.
I think you will be pleased with either vape for cloud production, but I think the UD will beat the SSV when it comes to efficiency. SSV gives THICK and tasty rips, but it goes through my herb much quicker.

Its less of a fixed temp vape than the traditional log vapes, including the CRZ.
But it is less variable than the HI.
Its extra variability comes from the screen placement. You can go from moving the screen way up close to get super dense clouds with just a tiny pinch of herb (perfect for vaporbonging), or you can move the screen back and get much milder less irritating, more flavorful clouds (perfect for dry hits)
Moving the screen is less simple than adjusting a variable power supply, so thats why i give bonus points to the HI. The screen adjustability is however a fun aspect for "modder" type users

So if I buy that unit I can use it to adjust temperature? I would think that the standard temperature would be enough right?

I just wanted to show that all log vape temperatures can be adjusted to reach desired temperatures, it just takes some tweaking.
