I love using my Hakko 981 so it will be great to have something similar that is portable. Cannot wait to see all the other Persei attachments THC has up his sleeve.

the Hammer works like a ceramic heater. Put your oil into your titanium nail, heat up the hammer for about 30-40 seconds and touch the oil.

When you say to put oil on the nail do you mean on an oil dome set up or on the nail cart that you are working on?

Oil dome setup. It will also work for flowers too. so no more need of lighters, beeline or anything else. Just press button and touch your flowers or oils.

Time to put my Phedor on ebay!

Hopefully I get the Persei I preordered by saturday since it ships on wednesday. I'm excited!

What do you guys think they mean that 3ohm carts are only for advanced users at 7.4 volts?

As a whimsical answer, how about "if you're asking that question, you're not one"? What's the old joke about the answer to 'how much gas mileage can I expect from the new Jaguar?'....."if you have to ask, you can't afford the car". Same idea.

At 3 ohms and 7.4 Volts you're looking at over 18 Watts, the just released Hammer is 20. If you push the button and don't handle the power is going to go badly. Probably burn the cart out in short order, for sure go way too hot, if the user doesn't throttle back manually.

Something like being a newbie MFLB user and winding your PA up to full blast....or worse?

Until you gain some experience otherwise, I'd suggest sticking to the green recommendations and leaving the red for later?

Thanks for that OF :) I am assuming by your green and red comment at the end that you were referring to the cartridge chart? Just wondering because both the 3 and 4 ohm carts are green on the chart for 7.4v ;)

I've ordered a pack of 4 ohm carts along with my Persei so I'll be using them for a while, probably until the 1.5ohm carts come out.

Yup. Get out onto the thin ice if that's the idea, but stay away from the 'don't go here' part.....at least for now. No matter how tempting?

That is a nice chart from planetvape so I am going to post it here.

The 3 and 4 ohm carts have been out for awhile. I give a review of the 4 ohm cart here. With the co2 oil I am using I like the 4ohm carts at about 5 volts. It gives great flavor and large satisfying hits.

So I just got the PDF file for the persei user guide and it says not to use 3 ohm carts at 7.4v.
I went by this chart and ordered 3 ohm carts so I could use them at 7.4v.
According to the guide I need the cr123a batteries to use the 3 ohm carts.
The persei doesn't come with those batteries right?
So by reading the chart did I just order a box of 3 ohm carts that I can't even use?

I think they should work. They might be alittle hot but it will depend on the extract used. As I said, the 4-ohm are alittle to hot for me at 7.4 volts with my co2 extract and I like it at 5 or 6 volts. Another thicker extract I have works better with 4-ohms at 7.4 volts however. Your milage may vary. If the 3 ohm are too hot at 7.4 they may work at 3.7.

so right now, when the persei arrives, it comes with batteries for 7.4 volts and 3.7 volts only?

Registered because of delta9vapes. Their customer service on here seems pretty good.
Just purchased a Persei and a pack of 3ohm cartridges. Can't wait to get this thing.

I found some frightening typos:

"Increase the size of your hit by slowly inhaling for no
more than 5-6 seconds (auto off occurs at 7 seconds)"

"Sherlock Style: Increase the size of your hit by slowly
using your mouth only to inhale the vapors into your
mouth for no more than 5-6 seconds (auto off occurs
at 7 seconds)"

"Q. My blue light keeps flashing, what is causing this?
A. You are holding the button down for more than 7 seconds and the battery protection is kicking in.
Let go of the button and wait for light to stop flashing and wait 10 seconds before pressing it again"

At least I hope they're typos... lol?

why so? are you worried that 6 seconds is not going to be long enough to get giant hits?

i wouldnt worry about that at all. id say the persei will deliver more vapor in a shorter amount of time than its competitors. so 6 seconds is probably well long enough.

i could be wrong tho

Having no time out was a major selling point of the Persei.

As it is I use the Omicron on the highest duty cycle I can, like 6.5 seconds on and a split second off. I would definitely make use the constant on feature...

The Persei isn't supposed to have a 'time out' circuit, I think that's the point JKA was trying to make?

You will crap your pants bro! I ripped/received my tester today at the shop, may I say medicated? No time-out on button holds, just steady vapor. This thing at 7.4v is going to give novice users dank stroke.

I couldn't find a post by THC that actually mentioned the no timeout...

EDIT: I found one!

Guys the Persei does not have a time out, these are guide lines. Something to go by, plus some of the stuff is from the Omicron Manual and will be updated soon as we get some major feedback from people.

As I recall it also came up with a video G posted showing him taking a truly heroic hit on a prototype. I think that video is now gone?

Anyway, I recall it too. I doubt we're both crazy. Let's stand by, DubC, G, a new owner or someone in the know will straighten us out real quick if we're mistaken.....

Just ordered mine. So excited! :D

Question to anyone: the carts supplied in the kit, 4 ohm carts, are given the three asterisk rating at 3.7ohm on the cart-chart. So in it's shipping configuration, it'll have a single "mild" hitting config, a dual cart "mild" hitter, both at 3.7, and a single and double cart heavy hitting config at 7.4 - correct?
