What do you mean by 'higher quality'? Have you had defective units fail on you?

No I don't own it yet, was just curious. Had a few fail with the original set of MFLB batteries and found a nicer rechargeable online.

Not to worry, this is an entirely different type of battery. While the the LB case there are several options from different makers, with T1 there is a single source.

Thanks for the information.

I'm really intrigued by this vape, I'm planning on purchasing a new one within the next few months or so. I consider myself an expert at using the MFLB and don't usually have too much of a prob with the battery length on that. Can any users of both compare them and possibly the Persei as well, definitely worried about battery life. I really like the look of both these 2 new vapes, but if this is the only convection I imagine the taste is much better? I also have the Arizer and that seems to have the best at extraction of any vape I've used, how is the extraction in comparison? Portability-wise, is the TV much larger than the MFLB in your pocket? How about with 2 spare batteries instead of 1?\

Edit: Thank you OF

Both LB and T1 have similar 'key down run times' of about four minutes. If you can work with the LB, you should have no trouble with T1. I've no idea about Persei......

IMO the taste of the T1 is superior, and it's also easy to make it basically tasteless with an alcohol wipe of the bowl and cap.

Size wise, the T1 is about as thick as LB, about 3/4 the width and twice as long. Not as small but perhaps a more convenient shape?

Ehm, 8 mails total 3 not answered, i sent the first, you do the math :p hehe
Yes, tried everything they said. Nothing helped. Last he told me to do was to take off the o-ring and se if i could get it further in, the heater that is :p
The main issue is that it stopped working suddenly. :) exactly 14 bowls and then kaputt.
And i had a issue with nasty taste when the unit was very hot. But i am guessing the nasty taste has something to do with why it sudenly stopped working? I dont know.

Last mail i sent them i asked if i should send them the faulty heater.

Thanks for the details, while I'm generally pretty good at math, I can't figure out your puzzle. Subtracting 3 'not answered' leaves five. You led, they followed (2). You came back, they responded (2 more). If you sent number 5 and the total is 8 they either ignored your last four or something else is off. No matter, they were responsive.

As to the failure, I doubt it's a heat core issue. There are two elements in there in parallel, the chances of both 'burning out' at the same instant are mighty slim. Troubleshooting theory would point to other areas where a single point failure could explain the status. Like the o-ring issues (backing the switch out) others have seen. Or a switch failure. I assume you've tried other batteries, they sometimes fail to open which would cause what you see. I assume you don't have access to a meter to make some measurements? While I understand questioning the core, I'd suggest including the switch with the return package.

As to the smell, I'm not sure what to say. There just isn't anything in there to smell bad, really. High temperature metal alloy, ceramics, Nickle plated Aluminum. The only 'plastic' piece I saw anywhere near the action is a tiny PTFE button that makes the insulator in the connector in the Revolution. There's a similar piece in the T1 I'm sure but it should be very effectively 'heat sunk' by the switch contacts. PTFE can take a lot of heat, far more than I think it will ever see in that location. I should think if it somehow did overheat and cause the failure, you'd clearly see it on external inspection?

There have been a few guys that reported funny smells early on, but they all seemed to have decided it was their herb. For sure I (and I think most guys) find the unit remarkably odor free.

So I'd request a RMA for the core and switch (if I didn't want to send the whole unit which I'd be inclined to do if I hadn't already taken a meter to it and learned what the problem was). With medium/high confidence the problem was there. If you can borrow a meter, we should be able to 'talk you through' to the fault. To do so we'll need to measure voltage and resistance.

Be interesting to find out what's going on.

OF

Edit: Not sure if you've tried the contact between the switch body and the core, but I'd suggest pulling the switch out (from the battery side) and removing the o-ring before careful reassembly (the switch will want to fall out without the ring). This lets the switch go further forward if needed (like if the core is short because it's not threaded all the way in????). Easy test. OF

OF,
After receiving my new core and it working perfectly and hitting harder than ever shit hits the fan again. This time I am fairly certain that the issue is a battery issue. When I put one fully charged set in the core won't light up at all. When I then directly remove those batts and put in a new set....... Guess what..... The tv works perfectly. As of right now out of my 4 sets of batteries only 2 sets work. I don't think thermovape accounted for decrease in battery quality when they are being recharged on a very consistent basis. At this point I consider the device virtually unusable.

Could there be an issue with the battery charger? Sounds like an abnormally high number of battery problem.

Excellent point. It seems unlikely that both the only two dead batteries reported (assuming only one of each of the 'dead pairs' is actually bad) came from the same six batteries shipped to one guy. If you add to that one of the very few apparent core failures.....I wanna buy lottery tickets with this guy!

With hundreds of happy campers, one guy having three serious problems with his is strange indeed. There's another piece to the puzzle out there I'm thinking? Has TV got the 'bad' core back for a look see? If I was them, I'd want to trade chargers and full battery set as well.

OF,
You act as if I don't want my thermovape to work OF. Thermovape sent me A new charger along with new batteries. The problems are the same as with my last core. Works really well then begins to deteiorate. The problem is as simPle as I have two sets of batteries, one when put in the vape won't work and a different set put in immediately after work. It might sound crazy OF but I am pretty sure me an a couple other people on here are having very similar problems. I have offered to send my full tv and chargers and all for a diagnostic tests. I wish my device was working like the first day I got it. But the fact of the matter is I have spent 260 on a device that has been a pretty big hassle up until this point. And it's not like the other sets of batteries are doing any better, one other won't work at all and the other set works for a about half a bowl.

Futuretvowner,
And yes good thing I didn't send my other core back yet because I will likely be sending my whole device and chargers back in that same return envelope

I never said anything of the sort, please don't put words in my mouth? Thank you.

What I said was 'it's strange that so many problems show up in one customer'. My experiences with such stuff leads me to believe there's a common factor that ties the several seemingly unrelated failures together.

There may indeed be others with similar problems, but I don't recall them posting as much. And for sure you seem to have more failures than anyone else? I'm just saying the odds of that happening are long indeed and there's probably another factor in play we haven't addressed.

There has to be a root cause here somewhere, always is. Hopefully the factory can figure it out once they have all the pieces.

Great Scott!
I'm absolutely loving mine so far.

First use without doing TOO much reading on technique or anything and I was blowing visible clouds better than I got with my MFLB after over a year or 2 of practice.

I let my die hard MFLB fan friend use it and he was impressed too, but like I said I doubt he will switch from the MFLB ever.

The more I use it the better I am with it and I get bigger clouds. I got 2 bowls out of 1 set of batteries as well and that was only my 4th time using it. I'd really like to see pictures of the ABV you guys have when you consider a bowl done. I'd greatly appreciate that.

I find the taste and smell to be fantastic, but when the bowl is done or really close to done it seems to taste god awful.

So far I'm VERY pleased with this purchase. I just hope it doesn't become solo 2.0, a vape I LOVE at first then grow to hate lol.

Since we r making a single thread for every part for the Thermovape, her is one for the atomizer :p

This is my first e-cigg, and so far i am loving it :)
At the moment i am vaping my home made liquid made with supplyes from Cloud 9 vapors.
Strawberry, lemon, mary jane and menthol mix yum yum :p

Taste is awsome, and hit quality is very good, almost feels like smoking ;)

Love it!

how do we know there are hundreds?

im order #1325, so out of the 1300+ customers im pretty sure there is at least a couple hundred happy campers

we dont know what number TV started on for order #s. a lot of times a MFR will start on #1000. so i suppose if we are looking at 325 orders... that would still mean hundreds of customers.

it will be interesting to see how things play out after months or a year of customers using their TVs.

Here is mine taken with 2 different cameras. I think it is hard to capture the true color.

You need some good lighting and hopefully some AUTO "white balance" setting on your camera.

You can put a magazine or something colorful next to it - so the white balance has a good range of colors.

Then, by putting some non-ABV next to the ABV, the white balance plus good lighting will pick up the true colors.

Hmmm, mine does not look like the picture :)

Edit: The adapter piece goes on the outside of the atomizer when screewed inn :)

And i just notised that if u vape teh atomizer to dry it gets a litle funky taste.

Well several weeks ago when I visited I saw lots of buckets with 500 or so pieces in each in process. They told me the minimum run was 1500 pieces, typical ones about five times that. IIRC something like 150,000 a week. They were running two automated screw machines 20 hours a day (two shifts) six days a week. The new, higher capacity, machine is due about now IIRC. They'd just started the deal with PuffItUp, there were several hundred finished T1s in shipping being packed. This was a Saturday a month or so back, they've gotten busier since then I understand.

I'm confident they've made hundreds (I saw at least that many in person), in fact I'm sure it's thousands.

So, how many owners here have had batteries die? I expect shorter than normal lifespan from them and wonder how that will play out.

White balance helps but what would be even better is a known reference colour. Coke red, for example.

Assuming the background in those pics is supposed to be white, neither has proper white balance. When balanced, the ABV on the right seems a little underdone by my standards. The stuff on the left looks fine.

If you vape it to dry you are damaging it, atomizers in general need to be wet when turned on or you run the risk of burning them out..........and yeah ive been loving my TV with the AVA HR hooked up to it, I'm still pretty wary of inhaling propolyne glycol every day though as comprehensive studies have really still not been done on long term effects.

was wondering how many pulls are you guys averaging per bowl and when do u guys swap out the battery?

A) when it seems to take a little longer for the coil to heat up?
B) wait till its fully dead and wont even switch on?

For me, I go until I don't think I'm getting hits anymore. (usually 6-10 hits) when I check after usually the core will not light up anymore. or it is taking way longer and only looks faint.

@darkrom,

Glad you are liking yours too dude :) mine goes from green to med brown with some darker spots that got vaped a little harder than otehrs. I bet if i loaded this into my UD i would still get hits off it. but they are all so tasty in the TV1 i dont mind! I save my abv anyways so nothing is "wasted".
