I sold mine after 2 days, it does get you medicated but it's a lot of work in between hits.. also as I mentioned the battery life just sucks.. I really hope the T2 would adjust this problem. I can bet money on the Thermovape hasn't been thoroughly tested before it's released.. or would it would be released before Christmas 2011. I can understand other digital vapes selling for hundreds of dollars.. but the Thermovape's very simple analog design selling for $250 is just highway robbery. Just my humble opinion, not here to bash any product.

I think a realistic understanding of the trade-offs we make with this device, for portability, form factor and durability, are important. Home setting is one thing, but on the road, I am willing to be flexible to get what I need. I refuse to use flame or butane devices so that is another personal limit I have placed on myself and my experience. There is definitely a learning curve but you are also talking to the guy (me) that never had a "meeting of the minds" with the MFLB. Thats why I never wrote a review of it, I didn't feel it would be fair to the device since I didn't understand it. I would never want to feel like I misled anyone about the nature of this device or why it works for me.

Me too t-dub! I really feel that this vape is meant for people that need this level of stealth, and delivery. I never thought of this as a party vape, and in fact last night I was able (with the revolution) to take 3 nice hits of BHO while at a work thing and all of the tension in the room just sailed away. Just snuck in the lavatory and used a little spray to make sure no one could smell it. It's perfect for one person who really has a need.

Hello every one I was looking for a stealthy Vape and decided on the TV1. I ordered it two days ago and it came today. I took it out of the box and put some triming Fan leaf in its very dry ( all I got for now). This is my first expierance with vaping. I turned the Tv1 on and pulled like the directions said. After a while I noticed that the air was hotter and it didnt taste like air any more..it felt like I was getting a hit felt the warm air against my tongue and taste of inhaling changed (at this point am I getting Vapor)? But no cloud on exhale. Now I changed the batteries twice and am charging them up until they go green. Once I get bud will I see clouds. Im very new and am used to a dug out and bic lighter. When I looked at the leaf it was a little brown here and there and I tasted popcorn in my mouth. I got a little something off the Vape more then I do with the Dug out. No smell or smoke.

A just cleaned bowl will get hot quick. It will feel hot on your tongue and throat. Like sucking dry hot air. To see if you are getting vapor try puffing/popping your lips during a hit and you should see some come out. If you are getting little vapor I would unscrew it and boil the bowl. Also a fine grind and a stir inbeteeen hits.

after a few days with the thermovape it has joined my dust collecting useless vapes collection. do be aware that this comment is my less than humble opinion (imltho). the battery thing is a killer... though that is only one of it's many drawbacks. who the hell want's to fuck around with all those batteries. it is obvious that battery technology though advancing has a very long way to go.
all this "in my opinion" or even worse "in my humble opinion" crap kills healthy debate. i'm sure (as is healthy) there will be many who disagree. i do see that if anybody disagrees or challenges the views of the mods they're arbitarily banned. land of the free my arse. bow before the sacred rules of max the meataxe. oh yeah, alliteration rocks!
paraphrased; imltho, this is a piece of underperforming, overpriced piece of crap. "high tolerance" as the cause for excessive heat i was experiencing was the response from the makers. piss poor and was just plain weak and arrogant. i did evetually find that it was a rooted battery.
initial impression was a well built and designed number and that opinion has not changed. but after due consideration and daily reality use i was sorely disappointed. refer to previous paragraph.
if you like this thing, go for it but i wouldn't piss on it, if its excessive heat resulted in spontaneous combustion.

Have been using mine everyday for a week (t1/rev) and loving it so much more that my MFLB. It's really all in the technique but I don't blame some being frustrated or down right angry (vape more? Lol) but it boils down to unrealistic expectations. Looking at what powers it and how big the bowl is it is pretty obvious of what it's capabilities are. The sweetest tasting cherry kush has been going through this thing and I couldn't be happier.

Sorry to hear the TV isn't a good fit for you, mongrel. I can see where you're coming from with the battery issue, it's buyer beware until a PA/passthrough system is created (however an extra set of batts + chargers makes things easy till then).
However, no one's twisting your arm here mongrel. If you don't like your ThermoVape, sell it. If you don't like what we talk about on the TV thread, don't look at it. And if you don't like the mods here on FC and the job they do, that's your own problem. Haha. I love how info-rich FC is, they do a great job keeping things cleaned up around here.

But yeah, my TV has been collecting dust too, partially due to my constant use of the Revolution and ecig attachments but mainly due to just plain old being super inconvienient to use, the meager battery life, need to stir before every hit and the fact that now that my batteries are no longer brand spanking new they seem to have trouble vaping a bowl to completion before running dead makes the TV1 just not worth the trouble for me honestly. I fully endorse the Revolution and have had no troubles with it at all but unfortunately I can't recommend the TV1 for use with herbs, it's just too much hassle for what you get in return (not to mention it is fucking expensive).
I hope they come out with an updated version of the heating core/bowl assembly someday but I doubt I will be first in line this time to drop a bunch of money on it. My apologies to anyone who was influenced by my early posts in this thread to buy a vape that they are not satisfied with.......my bad

Don't feel bad, our opinions are allowed to change over time. I see what your saying though as the revolution and atomizer are beast, even got new eliquid just for it. I feel like there is almost no difference between this and the MFLB in terms of delivery and battery life, just way more durable and easier to carry around(hated the screen and the need for a rubber and to keep it all in) . Was expectation really just to high?

Ok I just boiled the bowl for about 2.5 mins. Im going to let it dry for two hours, and I have shakin it to dry it out. Time now is 709pm Eastern. @ 9 Im going to give it another try with my dry leaf mix 3/4 full and fine sift. I really hope I see some vapor or Il be really pissed If I spent $250 for a hand warmer....I just want one good vape....

By the way If I put it in my pocket it turns on...

In general leaf isn't gonna put out too much vapor at all, are you grinding it?

I am not surprised by this at all. The Thermovape is a very specialized tool which works very well in specific applications. It is not really a be-all and end-all vaporizer for all situations. It is not the crescent wrench of the vaporizer world. Definitely not one-size-fits-all. It is a great portable, durable and stealthy vaporizer best suited to solo sessions where one wants to take a few discrete tokes to medicate. However, it really isn't a party type vaporizer where it can satisfy in group toking sessions bowl after bowl. The changing of the batteries, stirring of the load and mastering the proper inhalation technique required to get good results really does not lend itself to a satisfying group sessions.

I really like the Thermovape and it has pretty much replaced my MFLB for me portable/stealth needs. When I am chilling at home, having a big session or sharing with a group of friends I use my Arizer Solo, which I really love and am very satisfied with. However, the Solo is can't really be used out and about because of its size and because the glass stems are a bit delicate.

One development for the Thermovape that I would like to see would be an over-sized battery compartment giving better battery capacity. That being said, with my level of tolerance, it is very rare when I would want to vape more than one bowl in a session. After one bowl/set of batteries I am as high (or higher) than I want or need to be. I haven't yet had a situation where I ran out of power with the 3 sets of batteries that came with the unit.

No not using a grinder I can ether make it like shake or keep it lairy and like bud...kind of. I blow dryed and boiled the bowl can I use it now? its been almost 45 min and no wet drops when I shake.. also I noticed the contact point on the bowl the round part and with the spring under it wiggles slightly is that norm?

No need to wait for everything to perfectly dry. It will dry out pretty quickly from the heat once the current is running through it. I usually just make sure all the excess water is off. You will here some sizzling type sounds as the core heats up and vaporizes the rest of the moisture.

I am not sure if you will get good vapor off of ground leaf. Unlike bud, there are not a lot of oils/resins to vaporize on leaf.

ya thats what I was thinkin Im going to give another try I will be back in a few. I only have one set of bat charged but that should do the trick ....I hope thanks be back in a moment

Well said. And if I misspoke in my "Swiss Army" analogy I apologize. I was trying to convey that the T1 is a useful tool for me in a variety of situations with an appropriate level of "trade-off", with respect to the benefits I receive . . . all considered in the final equation.

Edit: I once cut off the bottom off a Christmas tree with the saw blade of a Swiss-Army-Knife. It worked. Did it do the best job? No. Did it work at the time with a trade-off? Yes.

Im back I got my first two vape exhales from just leaf finely crombled .. Very excited Im pretty much a lite weight when it comes to tolerance.. Not that Im inspace Im just siked that I saw a small cloud twice when I thought there shoulds be one... I boiled the ceramic filter for a couple of mins waited awhile and bam....Maybe needs to be boiled to get any manufacturing debries out? I dont now but Im siked I cant wait to try it out on some resinouns bud. To be Cont.

Had to contact the seller (easy vape's ebay account) about something I just noticed that is bugging me. I got it for the free 2nd day air shipping, it went out today, but the estimated arrival date is 2/7/2012. That can't be acceptable to do can it? By my calculations it should be arriving tomorrow or Saturday at the latest for 2nd day air.

I can't think of a reason, and I sure didn't. Nothing wrong with it if you're bored, or think it might help I guess.

It is a neat feature that you can boil the whole unit (except battery) but as they say 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should'.

After a week of use, I am also a bit disappointed about the battery life, but each set lasts for the whole load and the charger is very convenient to move it around.. Between home, office and the car my charger is working 16 hrs. a day constant, non-stop.. I think for frequent use best thing is to order another 3 pairs, so battery is never an issue, in the meantime carrying 6 pairs of batteries is not much fun neither.. To me the best thing about TV1 is, that its so easy to maintain, cleaning is as easy as 1-2-3, after 2 or 3 hits the job is done and thick clouds are always always there.. to me this thing is like MFLB on steroids.. If you need a "portable" vape that operates with batteries for a single person usage, and stealth is also important this is the right vaporizer for you !!

Great to hear. That is my realistic expectations. If I can get slightly better and less irritating hits with this than my MFLB, and get 1 bowl per set of batteries, that is fine by me. I'm not one to share my vapes. I'd rather share my herbs with you using your own vapes IMO.
