The Perfect Dorm Room Vape

So after receiving tremendous feedback on how to remain discreat and out of troubles way while vaping in a college dorm room, I've decided that I can confidentally get through a year in the dorms while doing so. Now comes the even harder part, selecting that "perfect dorm room vaporizer".

I was originally set on going with the Extreme Q 4.0 because I've only read great reviews on it and love the fact it has the Bag AND the Whip function. But in my last thread it was brought up that it might not be the best option for being discreat and keeping the smell to a minimum because of all the extra parts it has. For those who have the EQ, will it really be that bad? Enough to the point where you would suggest not having one used in a relatively small dorm room?

If so then its time to go back to the drawing board. Ultimately that's the vape I will eventually have once I have my own place but if I need to get something else I would love to know what you guys would suggest.

So in short, what would the best vape be for being discrete, keeping smell to a minimum, and also getting me fucking ripped, all while being in the confinements of my dorm room?!

I would get the Solo, its on sale for 189 shipped from Puffitup nd is the new SS version. This way you have a big hitting portable. And I had an extreme, its the last thing you would want being in a dorm.

The thing with the EQ is that the whip stinks up the room. Vapor is not really the issue as I would vape in my room all the time until the whip saw more usage. After a few uses the whip really begins to reek.

Solo or No2 would be best bet,easy to stash out of sight.
(Solo is 1/3 the size of the No2) and both pack quiet a punch.
Solo has glass stem and comes with 2 of them.
in a dorm room id get an extra stem or 3...

you could always go with a log vape also and leave the aroma cup on it. theres plenty of shapes to choose from.

For in a dorm, the Solo would be perfect! It's a very inconspicuous device first off and produces clouds of vapor that can rival many desktop units. Also, with only the aroma tubes to clean, all you need is a little iso and you're set. I cannot speak highly enough about the Solo, it has definitely become one of my daily vapes.

If I was trying to hide the EQ I think it'd be a huge pain because of all the parts. Bare minimum you've got the whip, cyclone bowl, clunky AC adapter, remote, the unit itself, your grinder, and your stash. Plus if you want bags then that's going to be another short whip + elbow adapter. It takes up more space than you might think, and personally I always found keeping track of it all to be more work than it was worth. A portable like the LB or Solo might be a better idea in you situation. You seem to still want something powerful, so as far as desktop units go you might consider a heavy-hitting log vape like a Rockzap or UD, or the Da Buddha or Silver Surfer if variable and high temperatures are important to you. With those all you'll have to keep out of sight is the unit and the stems/whip, and the DB and SS even come with bags which I believe have space for everything you need.

I'd also imagine that you could leave a log vape plugged in and on the shelf and most people wouldn't look at it twice.

i think a log vape really is the perfect dorm device. very conservative, hits well, and can be claimed as an aromatherapy device if any RAs get suspicious

Smell is mostly how you use, not what you use. It's the vapor you exhale that's the issue, not the vapor the unit produces. As for discrete, it depends on what you mean. Easy to hide or hide in plain sight? Can't beat a log vape for discrete. It's a legitimate essential oil diffuser-just hide the vapor tube/stem. A pocket portable like the LB or iolite would also be discrete. Not too many AC models you can leave out and not have questions asked about it.

Definitely something to keep in mind if you're going to be stashing it away frequently is that the log will be a long-time heating up. Not sure how intrusive RAs are at American schools. Around here they can't go into your room unless you invite them.

30-45 min heat up time for a log vape is true but they use so little power when i am using one i leave it plugged in all day!

log vapes look so elegant that you can leave them out in plain sight and use it as the aromatherapy device. looks legit!

i'd like to suggest the mflb with power adapter as an option to be thrown in the mix! it's small enough to easily stash, you you are seriously going to love the portability of the unit! the power adapter is totally worth the investment as well.

I store my mflb in a mason jar to keep odour to a minimum.

the log vapes can be left in plain sight with no problems, it could pass for a number of objects but its actually an aromatherapy device that heats essential oils.

Yeah I had a thread about the dorm room vaping yesterday and then posted this one in the vaporizer discussion and I guess moved it into the Ask FC and got rid of my other thread.

But thank you all for the suggestions and ideas. I really appreciate it. If I went with the Arizer Solo is there a case I could to store it in?

I just got a camera case onllne that works quite nicely for about 10 bucks. If you're into something a little nicer, these solo cases are starting to pop up online. A little pricey, but they look damn nice.

You can buy a case like this one from Rockwise.net. The same case is available from non-vape sites for a little less if you want to do a little searching.

I can tell you for a fact that the MFLB works well in the dorm setting. It works very well in the on-campus dorm room setting. Extremely easy to hide/store and even if you leave out in the open, most people won't know what it is if they spotted it. I use it with the PA which again is still pretty discrete. I can vape in my dorm room, approx. 13' by 17', and my roommate sitting on the futon 5 feet away can't tell. At this point I worry more about the smell from grinding up bud than vaping. However, you do need to recognize that there is a learning curve with that comes along with the MFLB but definitely refer to JDSupreme's youtube videos for help.
