Vaporizing, Bronchitis, and Asthma

Hi. I am a severe asthmatic and initially was frightened even to vaporize. Fortunately, vaporizing is pretty easy on my extremely twitchy lungs. I now use a MFLB. The MFLB enables me to control the amount of vapor and its degree of heat. Vaking herb does have a mild bronchodilator effect, which does help at times. Though my lungs are so screwed up, even the heavy duty nebulized medications don't always work that well. On the other hand, when I am nicely vaked, the dyspnea is less aggravating. I also do use edibles. But, no, I cannot smoke anything...even second and third hand smoke will irritate my airways. In fact that's a good test for me...my lungs spasm after contact with any smoke, but they rarely spasm with vapor (I have combusted once or twice, accidentally over the course of a year of MFLB use.) I am also frequently on large doses of prednisone.....which increases my already prevalent insomnia. The herb helps the insomnia, as well, though not through the entire night.

Any water piece you can connect somehow could work. If you post pic of your vape, it will be much easier to work out how and to what connect it.

you should be able to just stick the whip directly into your downstem.

if not you can buy a GonG whip adaptor for under $20

(you'd also want a shorter whip if possible to minimize surface area before it hits the water)

The bloody thing just broke on me! just kinda popped & wont heat up anymore!

Exact same thing happened with my first vape, a cheap china box like yours.
There's very good reasons we don't recommend them :ko:

Also related to one of the #1 reasons everyone loves the magic flight launch box.
dat lifetime warranty

If you have the option - go to your local head shop and pick up a small tube. I would suggest NOT going the el-cheapo acrylic or even ceramic and just get a plain jane clear glass water apparatus.

I picked mine up for like $50. (Aqualabs has a good selection as well) You can also look into getting an adapter that will work with your EQ tubing (or as stated before) stick your hose in the downstem.

Good luck!

When doing hot water hits, it can hit a little harder (or just placebo?) but it's like inhaling steam. Cold water hits are the super smooth tasty these.

As a fellow asthmatic my advice is to always keep temps low and draw slow->moderate, if its irritating speed up your breathing a bit

always use a long whip, the increased cooling helps a lot for me

water filtration = key for any major sessions, so much less harsh for me, even ripping as hard as I can with my SSV

I have asthma too, and honestly dont find vaping agitating to it. I use albuterol in the evening once ever other day or so. I have noticed with my vape that it helps if I take slow more shallow hits rather than long ones. I get the same effect. And it feels so much more natural. My days of zig zags are over just like my days of breathing in like a vacuum cleaner.

Just ordered some glass which should be here in next few days, interested to see if it makes a difference :brow:

And if you don't seem to notice a difference even with the glass you ordered you could try a log style vape as a last ditch effort. I just got my Rockzap a couple days ago and my lungs are thanking me already. The tokes are smaller, but thats kind of a good thing. The flavor is still there and you use less weed for the same job, And it's not irritating on the lungs IMO.

I too was waking up in the middle of the night with breathing issues and in order to fall back asleep I was having to use ventolin, same thing happened when I took tokes out of my Q even through my SG stemline.

Chib surely connecting my EQ bag to some glass would be smoother? Oh well will give a try & post back when glass arrives ;)

I've done this before but I find that the vapor in the bag actually irritates me more than directly from the whip. I have absolutely no idea why, but I find after 1 single bag my lungs started to hate me.

If you'd like to try it, you can blow an elbow at 190-200ish and get all the green goodness from the bowl in 1 bag, Just connect the silicone to the other elbow piece when the bags full and connect it to your favorite 18mm bong and enjoy!

The EQ does not have a clean air path. If you ahve asthma or are just concerned health wise then a clean air and vapor path is soemthing youw would look for and the EQ has neither IMHO!

I would agree with this, the air path of the EQ, especially with the whip is not very clean, just looking at my roommates, it is caked on the inside, and you can clearly tell the difference between then its cleaned and when its not.

I don't understand what you mean by clean air path? Mine seems pretty clean here is my new set up just basic but very smooth definitely better than it was before the water really cools the vapour even more :D
