Ok I drew between Mrfloopa and Nebulous and Nebulous won. Congrats!

However I did decide to continue with the contest for another month on a trial basis, and if participation warrants I'll continue it. Going forward for now I have changed the prize to a small Space Case 2 Pc Magnetic (Ti or polished) and have updated that on the contest summary page.

So let me know what you'd like Neb and hopefully well get a draw in for you soon mrfloopa.

Hope you had a good Danksgiving, Jerry Christmas, and Happy Bob Weir :brow:

Doh! For some reason I thought it was the last day of the month and not the last Friday. I've been holding off on posting. Oh well.

I've changed it to the last day of the month to make it easier. I was getting confused myself.

One last try for me, then. :brow: Happy upcoming holidays, everyone!

Space Case

I finally had the pleasure of using a space case after hearing about all the hype through a contest. While I believe you can find a grinder that is just as good for cheaper, I can definitely understand why you would want one of these. To me, the biggest selling factor is the weight to this sucker--you know this thing is built to last and it feels like a quality product compared to the grinders I usually find at headshops.

Because it is a two piece, you can keep grinding your herb to almost as fine as you would like. You can always turn a multipiece upside down, but I prefer to eliminate that necessity entirely. The teeth are also different than my current grinder (which uses points). These teeth are much better (you can see them in the picture--diamond shaped).

Other than this, I don't know what to say--it is a grinder that works really well. You can find others that will, but with this one it seems like your investing in a quality brand. If you have the money for it and won't lose it, it is a very safe choice.

VG:

Vaporgenie was one of my first vaporizers and I was glad I chose it. It is appropriate starting vape as it is quite cheap convection, portable vaporizer. You just need a lighter and there you go. I recommend torch ligher as it burns cleaner and hotter. Lighter based convection vaporizers are superior in terms of price and size over the more expensive electric vaporizers.

Pros: convection, size and portability, price, quick heating, good taste with torch lighter, safe to touch after using

Cons: not all-glass airpath, learning curve, small bowl (not exactly a party hitter), quality of VG ceramic heating element (shrinks and leaves dust after time)

overall I recommend this vape, to first-time vapers, however glass-o-philes will be dissapointed.

thanx :)

Vape or smoke

This is a truly unique product with its ability to vape or combust as you like. As a vaporist i found it to have a steep learning curve mostly due to how hard it is to fine tune the lighter. I overcame my vaporising troubles by using the three screen set-up (i add two extra round screens between the lighter and the herb) which allows me perfect vaporization regardless of lighter setting, perfect for me.

The other great feature of this product is the atomizer attachment which allows you to vape or smoke oils be it home made or nicotine replacement oils. They also have heat shield in development at the time of writing which should eliminate the need for the earlier mentioned three screen system.

The vaporizers biggest advantage is clearly stealth, small enough to fit neatly in my hand i am able to use it everywhere i go and everyone assumes it to be some sort of inhaler as opposed to larger vaporizers or the glass pipes you heat with a lighter which look like you are using hard drugs and not attractive to me.

The vape is easy to take apart and clean and incredibly well made and robust the lighter could have been bigger but more then lasts me a day out and spares can also be bought, all in all a great piece of kit for stealth on the go.

Extreme Q

Jack Of All Trades Master of None
If your looking for a versatile vaporizer this is surely the one. With it's ability to blow bags, direct whip draw and fan assisted hits this unit has it all. It's also a very good aromatherapy device using the pot-pourri bowl.
The Extreme Q's digital temperature adjustment and three fan settings give you total control over how you enjoy your vapor. The remote control is an added bonus, though after a few days you'll wonder how you lived without it!
If you enjoy water filtration when you vaporize, this baby comes with all you'll need to hook-up to any water pipe with either 14.4 or 18.8 GonG joints.
If you are new to vaporizing the Extreme Q is a great way to explore the different styles of vaping. However, for the more experienced vapist you may want to get a style specific model that will deliver more 'oomph!'.

Iolite Portable Vaporizer
The Iolite was early in the portable vaporizer game and the models have only improved over time. The unit itself is about the size of a cell phone or walkie-talkie, and the stem coming out of it actually helps disguise what it is because the stem looks like a phone antenna. Here is what it is - it is a set-temperature butane powered device that turns a flame on/off onto a heating chamber which is sealed but constitutes the "bowl" if you will - the area heated up is a chamber. Product is not placed in that chamber. The Product is placed inside a nice bowl attached to the stem-housing, which then is inserted into the heating chamber. The heat from the chamber is pulled through the product as you inhale, and what isn't pulled up in your inhale is contained in the stem system waiting for your next hit. The unit fits nicely into your hand, and using it is natural. To use, you turn a switch to ON and press a spark generator. You will hear a hissing and should see a light coming on at the same time. Hissing = flame. If you fill the filling bowl and start the unit and leave the unit on, you can easily get 3 powerful sessions before any need to refill the butane. Some speak of 1 hour plus and it partially depends on how often you are making it spark up as you cool the device in sucking heat out of it. I can and do go through several bowls in one fill. I pretty much keep it going and keep on using it from morning to night. Filling it - I guess let it cool after operation a bit so you don't start flames, fill it with good, high-quality fuel can't be overstressed, let it sit a bit after filling to let the butane raise closer to outside temperatures, and spark up again. Couple fills maybe, entire afternoon spent.
It does make a hissing noise while heating the heating chamber. People will hear it. That may be a bother, maybe a deal breaker (or maybe you need a better toolkit of vaporizing tools to accomplish the job you set out to do). It lets me know when it's starting to run dry because it slows down the cycles, so there is an actual positive to the noise. Unless you want silent. This is not silent.
Apparently it isn't really suited to high elevations (Rocky Mtn) and maybe not cold either. It does work really well as a handwarmer in the winter, thus serving double duty.
Within your first try, assuming you are using dry finely ground product, you will be getting nice clouds to see you're doing something. It's been written that it operates at about 190C so you may be getting a more euphoric, less couch-locked trip. It can be very economical in use of product - some report using 1/2 as much as via combustion. I find it about the same as those little 1-hitters that look like cigarettes - about that efficient. Efficient.
Clean-up is relatively easy. The tip unscrews from the chamber assembly, letting you remove the chamber assembly where there is a screen, a cooling vent, more screen, all held down at the place the chamber meets the tube you draw through, by a little round metal clip to keep everything where it's supposed to be. For cleaning, it is easy to unscrew the mouth tip, free up the metal bowl from the plastic holder, and dunk that betal bowl into iso to get it cleaned up. So, Startup, Use and Cleanup are really simple. The learning curve is very curvy and for the most part it is self-explanatory when you have it in your hand and can see the chamber, the bowl, the tip. I have found that to unscrew the tip from the bowl, the Iolite must be on/hot. If that happens, you can clean the screw-in part of the tip and you will next time be able to remove it even if cold.
The Iolite is not really useful to pass around. People can get a hit, but I find the best way to use it is just keep taking little tastes over 10-15 minutes, occasionally adding a touch during that time. Careful about grabbing the device from the stem as they have occasionally let loose allowing the Iolite to fall, spillage, a mess. After use you may find it bonds together nicely. It is a high tech device and does what it does well. Some users have experienced problems from using low quality butane. Some units have been returned but it appears that as long as you have your receipt from when you bought it, Iolite will accept returns within 2 years of purchase and make it right. Perhaps because of a fear of possible failure, many Iolite owners have more than one. That speaks well for its quality and usefulness that they want coverage all the time.
It is not totally stealthy. If you are out and about it is possible someone will smell it. I have put mine in a big-gulp cup, ran the big-gulp straw over my stem, and walked through department stores with perhaps only a glance or two. You need to carry fuel with any portable, whether it is a plug, extra batteries, or in the case of the Iolite, a small can of butane, when you go out and about.
Many people use the Iolite as their daily driver. Others save it for walks in the park. And there are those who just hate the thing for reasons rational or otherwise.
If you are looking for a handy dandy, easy-to-use, no-brainer device when out and about, where you can put it in your pocket and take hits from time to time, over a long period of time if you chose and pack enough, this is a good vaporizer to look at.

The Easy Vape Digital

Pros:
- It's a working vape at a relatively low price
- Digital temp control*
- Good airflow, since the bowl is so wide, which (I think) helps not make the hits too powerful or hot.
- Vapes it to dust at highest settings (by which I mean: it seems to extract quite a bit)

Cons:
- Digital temp is probably not accurate
- Unit overheats with time. This has happened sporadically and I have yet to determine why. Sometimes it is perfect, occasionally (not too often) it will simply end up giving you vapor that is beyond the flavorful hits and into the popcorn-y hits. Still, I have only combusted with this unit twice in the 2 years I've owned mine, and that seemed to be because I overpacked it and smashed it down (both no-nos).
- Downward angle of the heating element. Usually not a problem, but this bowl is BIG. At least, big enough that it is hard to ensure your herb won't fall down onto the element even after the first hit. If you nudge it or move the unit, stuff is likely to fall. I have taken to putting a screen to sandwich the herb down so this isn't a problem
- Bowl is too big (for me). I bought into vapes for efficiency, and I just did not pay attention to how big the bowl is. People used to smoking .2 or .3g at a time may find it doesn't matter, but I was always a light-weight and only required a few puffs to get going, so having to fill the bowl for it to work properly actually made me less efficient, though I am able to get up to 3 solid solo-sessions out of a single load if I'm careful.

Other thoughts:
If it had a better whip with a smaller bowl, it would probably be a great vape. Especially if you use it hands free--that pretty much eliminates the overheating issue and bowl size. If you take the time to play with the unit, it really is a good vape. I may have gotten a defective one in that it overheats, but otherwise I am quite happy with the unit when I use it. If I had to give a verdict, though, I would say there are definitely better vapes in this price range, and it may be worth it to pay a little more for something a little stronger in the whip vape dept.

Part Time Vaporist
Just reviewed the LSV on your site:

The LSV from 7th Floor is a great addition to their already solid line of vaporizers.

Pro:
* It is what I like to call a semi-portable vape. All the power of a full sized vape but still easy to move around.
* Very consistent and powerful heating element.
* Simple controls.
* Well designed and constructed.
* The "Wands" are much easier to pack away than standard whips.
* Great for passing between friends especially if you have a wand for each person.
* 3 Year warranty and very responsive support.
* The "All Glass" air path allows for minimal contact with unwanted materials.
* Includes several nice accessories with initial package.

Con:
* Can get a bit hot to handle if left on for a long time.
* Lack of stand can make it hard to find a good spot to set it down.
* Offers very little in the way of knowing what temp you have set it at. You have to experiment and learn the knob position that works well for you. Would be nice to have a temp display.
* Price for main unit as well as accessories is a bit high without a sale.

Been always meaning to participate...

I have a few Space Case products as well as some vapes you carry.

My first grinder and review of it:

"I have a Scout. It was my first ever grinder. Although I got the 4 piece unit.

It is fine for dry herb use but find it to small to handle anything that may be quite sticky. I much prefer the use of my Med sized titanium job. It fits my bill just perfect.

As with the any of the descriptions on Space Case products, its finely machined.

The Scout does travel nicely as it is pretty small. I have since sent it to my brother and when I visit I swear it seems even smaller."

Really Enjoy the Extreme Q. Quick start up time. Nice long sessions.

Good for groups of friends or just chilling yourself.

Remote is nice, digital temp display is a plus.

Great dense clouds. I'd recommend it to anyone. Great price here got for it.

Bags or whip it does it all.

wolf torn,
I own the vapolution 2.0. They are a reputable company based out of Chico. I finally took the dive and bought the vapo a little over priced at a local head shop. The vapo is very easy to use, and is a great example of a vaporizer: HOWEVER I feel as if there are other more friendly alternatives out there for users just starting off such as 7th FLoors products. The Vapo is great for personal use, and involves packing up a glass stem, that drop a measured few inches into the ALL GLASS vapo core. This provides for somewhat adequate even release of terpenes; but be careful! Too zealous on the temperature knob and I scorch my herb; you want to make sure that your biomass coming out of the unit is a hazel brown. I hear the All in WOnder bowl is a great attachment and gets rid of some of the guess and play with the glass stems. All in all a good ALL glass vaporizer.

Going forward I have updated the prize to your choice of a small Space Case Magnetic Grinder 2 PC, Titanium or Polished (your choice), or a small or medium Space Case Airtight Cylinder Case. :peace:

captainhits,
The Essential vape is a good oil vaporizer. It is not good for using herbs but is perfect for oil concentrates. One problem i had is that it made me cough for long periods of times. I learned there is a technique to hitting it. I suggest you learn how to use it correctly.
The vials are not re-usable and its quite easy to get into coughing fits. This product is worth its price especially if your not looking to carry around an oil rig everywhere you want to get medicated. i give this product a 3/5
