18" or 12" bong??

I currently use a water filter from 7th floor with my SSV. I've been looking into just getting a basic straight shooter bong to use instead. I found two I like, they are basically the same exact thing. 5mm thick, 18mm diffused downstem, ice catcher. The price difference is only 10 bucks.

What do you guys use? Would 18" be to big for a vaporbong?

For vaping I'd keep it simple and easy. Only you know what you like, but between the two I'd just go with the regular footlong. The vapor should already be cool enough from the water and/or ice, so that extra length won't make much difference besides just being more glass to have to fill up with vapor before it can get to your mouth/lungs.

In all of my expereince, my general rule for height has always been "no taller then 18"" as that is the standard "tall" bong, and its already quite tall, maybe unnecessarily so, I know others may feel differently.
I have set my personal limit to 16" since thats plenty tall for ME personally, besides, I favor micros and minis

dont forget that the bigger or taller a piece, the more difficult it will be to clean and store.

the size of the bong depends on the vape though.

for a log vape you'd definitely want to keep it real small but shouldn't the SSV hit hard enough to milk an 18" fine?

although even if it did thats more vapor that can condense on the glass walls

but i jsut personally prefer smaller bongs too. I don't have the lung capacity for the big ones i find. takes 2 breaths haha. one to fill it, and one to clear it on the bigger bongs i have used in the past.

my current one stands 8 inches tall and i love it.

I agree 100% with this. I don't see the benefit of the larger pieces, but maybe my limited lung capacity is skewing my bias. My pieces are all under 12", and I see no benefit it those 18" + pieces. It's just more of a pain to clear (and clean).

I was leaning towards the 12", thank you for making my decision easier.

The cabinet its gonna be stored in is only 16" tall so I guess that solves it

I think a taller bong is more of an ego boost than anything.

Like owning a big gun or a big car

the cooling effect isnt nonexistant but not that important for vapor

You want to moisturize vapor more then you want to cool it.

Yeah it's the same symbolic phallic nonsense that wannabe audiophiles used to acquire - gigantic speakers for small rooms with a TALL tower of components - equalizers, graphic range expanders, etc., ultimately, I dare say, a pile of hamburger helper.

I have a 15" and an 18" and the 15" is what gets used... Helps that the 18" is a cheap chinese-made piece, and the 15" is a SGW waffle

I have an 18" which I rarely use... I did use a bit with the Cloud and it works awesome but I would lean towards smaller for sure myself. If I had a smaller one I think it would get more use.

Yea, man... my son bought the 14 inch tube. Real quality stuff. You can see a review and video on my site if you want. I was very impressed with the thickness and overall quality of the glass!

I use this with my ssv with ground glass everyday. It was cheap 30 local and a good size 40cm 3.5mm glass. I use it with the 18mm ground glass water pipe adptor from 7th floor and its a nice neck size to drop ice in the top easily which i was worried about with the smaller 14mm sizes. It milks every time for about 5 hits then done also works well but not as great with my supreme.
