Choosing a vaporizer. o:!

Hello folks, I have recently discovered the amazing powers of these so called vaporizers and have been looking to buy one. I have only the used the Volcano myself, but I see that there are many other good ones out there too and not as pricey. <:
So please lend me your expertise and help me find a vaporizer. o:

The things I have been looking for are mainly;
Portability: I want to be able to keep it in my messenger bag and carry it around.
Price: Money is a little tight so the cheaper the better, I did find some cheap ones but I am not too sure to trust them.
Also, I am usually with a group of 4-6 so a vaporizer that would be good for that would be nice.
I personally am fond of the bags but apparently whips work really well? I am ok with whichever. (8
And of course electric powered preferable.

Things such as temperature control / remotes are not important to me, at least not right now. D:

Thank you all for your time.

hello and welcome to FC!

I'd say it's a pretty clear choice for you then. the Magic flight launch box.

it's main advantages are:
- small and stealthy
- uses a AA battery so no cords or lighters to worry about.
- it's doesn't break the bank at 120 USD. it comes with a lifetime warranty, and they have a great reputation over here on FC
-they also make a power adapter you can get that let ypu plug it into the wall and use it as a desktop vape. (this method is even more effective imo)

other portable vapes to consider:

The Vaporgenie (Lighter)
The Lotus (torch)
arizer solo (electric)
smoke for vape (pretty much a concentrates only vape) (torch)
eclipse vape (again for oils and hash really) (torch)

other to consider if you want a vape that plugs into the wall are:
the DBV or SSV (these are heavy hitters that will be crowd pleasers as well)

I'm not sure the LB is best for groups of 4-6. That's a lot of batteries. (unless ultra light tolerance) Meets most of your other criteria though.

Unfortunately portable, electric and cheap are 3 areas that it seems are pretty difficult to balance. Add in multiple users friendly is even harder. Drop any one ctriterion and there's loads more options.

edit: I'm always so slow at typing, and so have echoed lilly. I am sorry to be a parrot.

Yeah the LB seems a little small but it does seem very portable, I believe one of my friends recently ordered one so I guess I will get to try that. I shall look through the other suggestions as I finish this post. <:

As for the 3 areas, yeah I guess if I had to, I can drop the cheapness, and it doesn't have to be extra portable, just needs to fit in my messenger bag. The volcano could fit in my bag but due to the design, it just be poking one side, so perhaps one with a more suitable shape? I will be looking around a little more, the Artizers caught my eye.

Thank you all for the quick responses!

check out the herbaire! it fits every one of your criteria!
you can find them used at reasonable prices, they are very durable - no prob carrying it around! electric powered, small size - stands about 7 inches tall. it will blow bags, and it comes with a whip. its perfect for vapebonging too. you can pack a small bowl for yourself, or a large one for the group of friends and everyone will be happy. you won't have to worry about stirring the bowl in between hits either, - certainly handy in a group situation. as far as i am concerned its the best all around vape out there.

regarding a log style vape, it is very dependent on your tolerance level imo. if you are used to smoking blunts or ripping bongs/ buckets etc you are probably going to have the feeling that "time's a wastin" (as another forum member has put it) while you are vaping stem after stem... this only really applies if you have a decent tolerance built up though. I have a tolerance and I still enjoy the Purple days unit, but if i don't have 45 min to sit down vape away till i'm "there".

im not a huge fiend as my name would imply either  i bet i go through about a gram a day still.

good luck and happy searching for your ideal vape man!

*edit: it's true that for groups of 4-6 the mflb is not so ideal as it uses lots of batteries, but if you can use an outlet with the Power adapter, you would be laughin.

Thanks! I will check out the herbalAire right away! (8

As for my tolerance level, I would say its about average if there is such a thing. I started with joints but they never really got me high, eventually me and my friends got a hookah and used that and that was much better (mixed with herbal nontobacco sheesah). But setting it up, waiting, having to buy sheesah was getting hard sometimes. A vaporizer would be nice to have. <:

Thanks again for the all the replies!

To me, and I have a limited experience, just reading the forums up and down and using a few different kinds, I agree completely. Its not too expensive, has great reviews, and does whip and bag. Also it could fit into a reasonably sized bag. PD's can be hard for 4-6 friends, though I have done it with good results, and I think that goes for most portables as well I believe. 4-6 IMO requires a bigger vape. I really think the EQV would be a good choice for you.
OR the solo's that are going for $80 on someones amazon. If it turns out to be real. :o (check out solo thread) Never mind, seems he forgot the 2 in $279.99 :( :p

I have to completely disagree with you. I, and many of my friends, had always smoked big bong rips and blunts every day and when using the PD, we only get a way better, cleaner, and more intense highs from not close to the amount of bud. I know there are others who agree with me. I was a heavy cannabis smoker before I bought a PD for a very close friend, and I get higher off of 2 stems then I did smoking a gram blunt. Which takes all of maybe 5 min probably less and uses ~.05. Maybe your not using very high quality cannabis, or using it incorrectly? Just sounds so off to what I have experienced. :peace:

i may not have the technique down 100% that is a possibility. recently i discovered if i pulled slightly slower and with less suction i got better results.

but when it boils down to it. id rather fill my whip once and be there than the number of stems it takes me. once im already baked though i use the pd more.

im off to the pd thread to ask a few questions. :p

The arizer solo sounds ideal here, however it is a little pricey. A better Choice might be the vapir no2 price wise. MFLB is sweet but for 4-6 people you'll go through batteries fast. Given your requirements I'd say go with the NO2 It's a great product for the money, despite the early models having a few problems.

The PD is always my first recommendation; I've been using mine for three years and I'm still in awe of what it does and how it does it and it's very durable and trouble free.
It's extremely small, the size of a soda can - the downside if you're traveling around with it is the 45 minute warmup time but it's an awesome vape.
Been a while since I checked but I think it's $175 - definitely worth it and worth the wait to have one built.
I can only say good things about the SSV but it's a bit more pricey but it comes with its own hemp based carry bag - not sure if it would fit in your messenger bag.
Depending on where you live you might be able to find a used SSV in your area - the company, 7th floor, is very good about repairs if necessary if you call them rather than email.
Another really good cheap vaporizer is the VaporBox - it doesn't get enough recognition in the realm of "box vapes" but it should - it's an offshoot of the legendary "Vapor Warez" and you can find one on Ebay for $139 and you get a lifetime warranty.
Hope this helps.

I think I have narrowed it down to either the DBV or the SSV and possibly the vapir no2. Just gotta read up on them so I can compare stuff like the warmup time, bag/whip, etc.
I will probably order one this weekend after I get some monies.

Thank you all!

I think a whip would be more versatile for your situation. and the DBV and SSV are the best whips out there, so either would be a good choice.

On ebay there is a store called Higher Elevations its run by 7th Floor and sells 'blemished' units, that come with everything, plus a warranty, but no case, but they sell the cases separately on the same store.

those first 2 whips you chose will serve you well. the mian difference between the dbv and the ssv are:

SSV:
-choice of 3 types of connections (standard, ground glass, and sperical ground glass) [standard seems to be the favourite around FC]
- downward angled heat source (this means the ssv is better suited for hash, and oil concentrates too)
-fancy glass knob (who cares really eh?)

DBV
-same element heater as the SSV
-ground glass connection only
-cheaper

if money is an issue then i suggest buying a blemished version.

over on here in the sell your vape section though there is a nice orange ssv for sale for 180 i believe and that is shipped too i think. (i asked the guy before i bought mine)

personally i bought mine from grateful buys. i used the FC coupon code and got it for about the same money as the blemished ssv would have cost me off ebay! but i got the bag too!

personally i would stay away form the No2, but that's just me. read up on it in the thread if you are still considering it. as long as you do your research I think you are gonna be happy!

Good luck!
