Krockodil ... (Desomorphine) this is some nasty stuff...

Vicki's not kidding. Just to be clear, and to spare anyone form having flashbacks or nightmares, an apparent user's leg is sawed off. This stuff seems to be meth, which is a blight upon humanity, many times over.

Thank you. I should have said exactly what the video contained, but to be honest, I'm still kinda in shock. I wasn't sure what they were doing at first, and then my mouth dropped. I've never seen it done that way before. The patient didn't even act like they were in any pain at all either. I can't believe this is happening to people. It almost looks like radiation poisoning to me.

Oh, and apparently you can get codeine over the counter in Russia, not even needing a prescription. That's screwed up.

According to wiki, Codeine can only be purchased OTC in Canada if it is a low dosage, and I can imagine that would be highly regulated per person.

From the article Vicki posted, "If heroin and other such narcotics were legally available there would be little more risk of overdose than with any other legal drug (and significantly less than with alcohol). The state would not be faced with horrible drug epidemics, hospitals would not devote mass resources to treating overdoses and addictions, and no one would have to worry about their limbs rotting off."

this is just what Dr Gabor Mate was talking about when he asked, "why do these people choose to continue doing something that has such effects on their health?" "because it is the first thing in their life to make them feel loved and connected"

we shouldn't blame the drug, and we shouldn't blame the children who grow up with non-functional dopamine circuits who reach for this stuff, and this definitely signals a problem in society, and a need to do things differently going forward.

Dr Mate says it's just going to get worse if we keep parents stressed

It is extremely disturbing. Here is a link to a Russian video and some pictures at another forum. It contains footage of the junkies, and it is EXTREMELY graphic. It shows the results of their using this drug. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. :( You may want to skip the video.

WOW, as soon as they started the sawing that was it for me, could not watch anymore. I feel pretty sick now after watching that, probably will get flashbacks for a while. I always ponder how these people's lives ended up in this position. Makes me very thankful for where I am.

the sickening thing to me is...the guy getting his leg sawed off...I think I could imagine he was kind of looking forward to being able to get back to the drug, like, "glad that's taken care of, now I can go home and get high"

because i can kind of relate (shiver)
glad i've got a better handle on things now

and for anybody who wants to know more about why and how this happens to people please watch Dr Gabor Mate's take on the causes of addiction

80% of the cocaine in the USA today rots flesh, wow, that's way worse because there's no expectation of coke doing that.
