Anyone else use a flashlight while vaporizing?

I normally vaporize in the dark as I vape when watching TV before bed and turn the lights off. This lets me take a flashlight and the high contrast of darkness to bright light allows you to see the vapor much better, I often curve my EQ's whip's tube and shine my Duracell Daylite LED flashlight into the curve and as I inhale I can clearly see the vapor density vary and make the proper temp adjustments. With the Volcano or bags on the EQ (which I never liked, I got the EQ to get rid of dealing with bags and stale vapor) I simply shined the light through the bag. I also sometimes shine the light through my exhaled vapor.

I've done it for as long as I've been vaping I think (at least 5 years), my flashlight it always next to my vaporizer.

So does anyone else shine a bright flashlight into their vapor to better see it's density?

I usually have at least some ambient light in the room. what I love to do as much as possible is vape when the sunlight is at its peak shining through my window, that allows me to see the vapor the best!

:lol: nope, I never have. Never even thought of it. You live and learn! With my volcano in the dark I just judge according to timings really- turn on the fan for a bit to heat the bowl, then clip on the bag. With my ssv whip I just go by taste. Have to say I don't think I've tried a ssv bong in the dark. Sounds fun. I'll dig out my torch (English for flashlight) and give it a go!

I will add that I've just recieved another mini bubbler form Deal Extreme to try for my LB ( the glass ones are too fragile to be overly portable, and the QC on the downstem is poor and sometimes too short, but if it's long enough it's perfect for home). this new one actually has funky colour changing LEDs built into the bottom of it, which I will imagine looks quite garish when it fills with vapor. I''ve got a lot of work on till next week, but after should be able to get it going and I'll post a vid if it looks interesting

I too use the daylight to see through the glass, and look at the vapor that flows and enters in my mouth emptying the tube when I take a rip. In the evening I usually see vapor because of tv glare or herbo's led. I love vapor clouds.

I've used a flashlight with my mflb to check for vapor on the exhale. As soon as vapor became visible in the beam, I would re-inhale, and repeat until no vapor was apparent. Over time I found this to be too troublesome and I'm not sure how much it actually helped, so I stopped. I still use it occasionally, just to check if I'm still getting vapor from my herb.

I love the slotted bright beams of light that come in my window early in the morning. Clouds of vapor look so trippy in it

Bedside lamp is LED and that's fun before falling asleep. :D

So I have a number of little crappy LED flashlights that were like a buck off mertiline. A few have little clip feet, which you can actually clip to the rim of a goblet-style piece, pointing upward so it illuminates the vapor. This can be really helpful actually in my experience, especially when using lighter-powered vaporizers.

So in short, yes. Proper illumination, however you can get it, can be very useful depending on the vaporizer and the situation.

I use to always put a flashlight under the bong so it would be all pretty and cool like a mystical fountain of vapor.

i use a laser when I vape my e-cig sometimes, but i have to hot box it to get the light show effect.

alternately, i've added a whip "bulb" (mouth-piece) to my e-cig and watched it fill with vapor as i use the e-cig...that's cool to watch, but only works when i'm in front of a mirror

but i ghost my MMJ vape hits now, too cheap, hehe

(but i blow out a bit when i start my hits, and wait for vapor before i start my draw, so i do look at vapor briefly)

at night with only candles or outside with a full moon, i exhale towards the light and its pretty awesome.

Yeah, I've been using a flashlight since about the 3rd day I started vaping. I shine it at the glass stem of my mflb (its hooked up to a whip and bubbler, so the stem isnt right near my head or anything), and I can very easily see exactly what my air/vapor ratio is. It really really helps you dial in your hits. And then I always blow the hit into the light to see the cloud :D

Although I'm finally starting to trust that I'm getting hits even if there is no exhaled vapor. It's still weird getting used to though since most of us have been trained that big clouds = big high from smoking.
