Questions for fellow Soloist with M102. what # do you vape with? I usually don't see vapor in the tube the tube until i set to 4. I still get vapor at 2, but it's thin blue vapor when i exhale to a lamp.

Im new here and too using forums, I stumbled across an Arizer Solo completely by accident.....

WOW I GOT AN ARIZER SOLO FOR $60.00!
Hey, great post tintest, welcome to FC!

I'd say you picked up a real bargain there! It would go for probably almost twice that in the classifieds here.

You've gone a bit further than me on the mods.... so with your o-ring installation i assume you have to unscrew the cap every time to reload, if I understand correctly?

Glad you're liking the excursion to vapor. Are you gonna fuck combustion altogether?

man, there's a brand new vaporist, inexperienced with the hobby, who took time out of his day to post helpful photos of his own mods. More effort than many of the empty posts here on FC. OK so the screen deal has been done before, but it looks like a different work around with the o ring placement and the internal bowl screen. The least that can be done in return is a warm welcome.

Just thought id document my solo rant here as vaposhop are doing my head in. A little while back I said I was posting my stinky M105 back to them which I am once I'm back at the place where its stored next week. Well after I confirmed that the device contained flux all on the underside of the heater block and a quick 3M test to confirm the cadmium vaposhop said they had posted me a replacement unit out ahead of me getting back. A day or so ago I find out that's crap they sent a lying email and they won't do anything till they get the other unit back. The way they communicate is terrible. I ask specific lists of precise questions and they reply with one line answers that only answer one or none of the questions. All I'm trying to get them to do at the moment is tell me the date that the stock comes in and then when I pay for another unit make sure its gonna be M106/M107 and sent out ASAP. They totally ignored all that part of the email and replied:

> Hello Ace ,
>
> The new arizers were not in stock yet, therefore we cannot send a repla=
cement unit.
>
> (By the way, we have not received your M105?)
>
> Kind regards,
> Esther

I've worked in customer service nearly my whole life. How can they do business when they communicate so bad?? I've sent another email asking if there is a manager or someone higher in business that I can speak to as I feel like I'm being messed around a bit. I'm actually happy to pay extra cash to show I'm not going to rip them off should I not post my other solo solo back which I'm going to next week anyhoo. OhTheAgony said ring them but I don't wanna pay international rates.

Edit: Just had an email back from another person at vaposhop who seems alot more coherent and they have apologized and assured me that a new M107 Black has been posted to me today. So for now things seem to be ok again.

AceTK,

elmomuzz

That just happened...
The best way to deal with this it to buy another. Return the first one for a refund once you get your new unit.

here for the chicks
Man, is this still going on? I thought you were getting a refund so you could take your business elsewhere over a month ago?

Communication isn't Vaposhops strongest suit I know, I hope this will be the end of it for you finally anyways.

Wat, I think you're being a little harsh there brother. It seems to me that the Chad was just replying to Jamba's post above you you old stoner ;)

Awesome first post indeed Tintest! Welcome to FC!

Did you make sure your o-ring is heat resistant, and what kind of metal are you using for the little screen/plate?

haha, yes I just saw that on the re-read! Apologies. Not sure how I passed my written comprehension tests at school. Guess that's the problem reading posts singly as they come up sometimes, rather than in proper context

Those "vapor droplets" are worth their weight in gold. That oil is very potent and can be put into a 14mm bong and torched for many, many tasty hits, or you can soak them in ISO and reclaim the goodies by evaporation.

Check out the Vaporpedia entry for more tips and tricks.

Thanks for the link, quite helpful!

Should i take it up with the online authorized seller why i was sold an old model m103? I don't want my ceramic to start chipping on me and i shouldn't of had to pay the price i did for an old model.

Also where can i get a mesh screen to put into the bowl of the stem? So far i've been putting my grinded herb in the bowl and that's why i think it's been going through two tiny holes and into the upper part of the stem...

The answer to the mesh stems is in the vaporpedia article as well courtesy of Da-Ape. Look under cases and accessories.

Yeah I've been away trying to get it all sorted in time for me getting back. I originally bought the device with intent to take away out and about but was not able to due to stink issue. Now I'm just working on having something usable waiting for me when I get back next week. Hopefully providing this last email was not another said but not done dispatch I should actually have a working M107 posted out to me.

They said they will refund my return postage costs too which is nice but I've asked if perhaps they could include the 12v car adapter instead but I sent the message delayed so we'll see what they say and if they manage to intercept the order to add it in before it goes out.

Xchadb I think you should post more videos of you using crazy shit like the moonrocks etc...in the Solo or whatnot, with cool glass etc.

Heck... the stores will know you as a celebrity - and they should be showering you with some nice freebies :D

@tintest - beautiful post. i particularly appreciate the report on your custom plate that creates the heat reservoir under the herb. i have seen the same effect in my vape (using a flat botton vial in a round bottom test tube creates 1/8" air gap below the herb) and now it has been verified. Thank-you.

Thank you for the warm welcome. once you insert the O ring it stays held in place with the cap.
Yup, no more combustion!

Hey tintest,

What exactly did you use for that stainless steel disk, and how did you get it to be the "perfect" size?

I think this is a great modification to the Solo, since I don't like how the metal can get stained (from the herb), and also can scorch the herb.

Do you have a picture of the disk in the Solo? I wonder how the air ends up going under the disk, if it is not covering the holes in the Solo, which would mean it would basically have to be an perfect/airtight fit.

I would like to try that disk but it seems like it has to be perfectly made. If you made these, and sold them - I'd be you first buyer :ko:

I have a warranty issue with my Solo - an M103 model. It has had the issue since I bought it in August. It runs way to hot (which might be a feature for some of you.) I never use it above 2 which is more like 6 or 7 on the other Solos I've tried. I've waited until now to send it in as I wanted to be sure the other issues they've been having were worked out in case they send a replacement.

I have been asked by Kevin @ Arizer to pay $30 up front for the postage for Arizer to return my Solo or a replacement to me after they work on mine. It seems a bit much to have to pay for the shipping both ways for a unit that has never worked properly and I don't recall people posting about this fee. Maybe I just missed it. I don't know what the shipping to Canada will cost but this is looking like a $50+ warranty repair which pisses me off. Opinions?

Thanks!
I had similar issues with over heating, when I first got the unit it would over heat to the point it caused the battery to drain in one use! Melted the side of the brace that holds the bowl up. Didnt happen all the time twice since I owned it. I think thats the reason I got it for so cheap! Because of this, I did not have an issue opening it up. I would not recommend it for you because of the warranty issue. But in my unit I found that some herb residue was shorting out the (thermocouple) thats what I call the part that senses the heat of the bowl. Where it connected to the board it packed with vaped herb. Once cleaned I havent had the problem since!

Hi the disk is stainless I made it at work. (Machinist) The air seems to come in at the bottom the disk sits on the bottom on the bowl. The dimples I made in the disk, lifts it up just a little. When the air is drawn in through the bottom 4 holes of the Arizer it cant go directly up in to the smoke cuz the disk is in the way, so the air has to circulate then make its way through 10 holes in my disk. The holes also are aligned in a circle, inset so the air misses the edge of the glass stem.
The disk is darkened is spots because I use it often to vape honey oil and hash!

i think the HerbalAire has a circle of air inlets like that -- it is reported to vape very completely.

Pre warm up capillary action for airflow. Perhaps we could improve by adding a more complex path so more heat is transferred to the air before it reaches the herb.

Ahhh... so it does fit perfectly. For the other 99.99% of us that can't make this themselves, this is a great find and really cool modification, and worth purchasing.

Would you consider selling some of these? If so I'll take 5 of them :brow:

Not really air tight because the disk is the exact size of the stem 14mm so it does not sung up.

But sits just perfect as the stem does.
Yes, I can make some for some of the guys. I have to do it at work on my lunch break.
(Takes about 45 mins.)
It takes time, but if you guys want them. I can do them until my boss cuts me off. LOL

Yeah only without the blowtorch lol. I kinda imagined you could have paths that go all through the mica heater block then into the bowl and into another bottom layer of air capillaries then into the herb at even points in a well defined 5 stream vortex.

:o

Don't want to get you in trouble with your boss.

45 minutes for just 1? That sounds pretty intensive.

If you email me your Paypal adress - I'll send the money...I want to be the first to preorder this, especially if supplies are limited :D

Yea a coil type path around the bowl that would bring the incoming air to vape temp before being exposed to the herb. I believe that would also lower the demand on the unit to keep operating temps, and that would improve battery performance!
