Arizer Solo

I am looking forward to trying it out. By the looks of the design, it is really the perfect vaporizer for me for use at home. The things that have always held me back were the QC issues and bad smells. I'm hoping that I'll luck out with the M006. Fingers Crossed. :p

Yeah fingers crossed for both of us pecosthecat. Had my M105 ordered since last week. Its due to be posted out by vaposhop tomorrow. I swear if I don't get my unit soon my head is going to explode! lol

Day 2 with the new Solo. I'm loving the new strait stem. Definitely will be order another one to have as a spare. I will say I have found the Vapecase hard case to be a very handy tool. Everything fits very nicely and I feel the unit is very well protected in the enclosure.

Is anyone else finding that a more coarse grind restricts the airflow? I thought the opposite should happen but found that the grind I use in my TV(Which is a very coarse grind) makes the airflow a lot more resticted.

I'm enjoying the straight stem too. I was so used to the bend ones that I was a bit uncomfortable with using them at first, but I figured out another way to comfortably turn 'm upside down without the stem falling out and insert it in a downstem one handedly.

I like it mostly for esthetic reasons though, it just looks better to me as a whole this way.

The agree, the straight stem is definitely more appealing to the eye(IMO).

Does the Solo make the 15/16khz noise/hum/whine whenever it's in use or just when its being charged?

Has anything changed with this in the M105/106 models?

Where you get the strait stems, do they hit better than the 4 hole...Also for anyone who wants one from a rep vendor, I seen vaporstore now carries them for 229$

I used a friend's solo the other day, but noticed that the abv never got past a gold color with a little bit of green. We ran it exclusively on 7. Is it running ok, cold? I notice people mentioning darker browns when talking about their after stuff

I never run mine over 6. At 7 the ABV is darker than I would like. I start at 2, then 4, and finish at 6. Occasionally I'll start at 3, then to 5, and finish on 6.

Yeah, if you don't get it dark brown to black on 5/6/7 it is running cold, which model does he have?

I don't notice a lot of difference in drag icw my Ehle, but without it draws noticeably less restricted with the 4 hole stems PVTO.

Not all Solo's make that sound Sok, and some louder than others I assume. My M102 is completely quiet, but I could hear my M105 clearly. Only in a quiet room though, it wasn't very loud. When they do make the sound it's when it's in use, not when it is charging.

My M103 also made the sound while heating up but I haven't noticed it with the replacement. Will listen out clearly for it the next time I use it (More than likely later today, I'm sitting down for some quiet time with the UD right now).

Could you perhaps do a little comparison between the UD and the Solo Gonzo? Either here or in the UD thread is fine with me. Just some basic things like vapor density, (average, since theUD has an adjustable bowl size) bowl size, efficiency, taste, ease of use, ABV color & whatever else comes to your mind.

I can give it a try. On vapor density the UD gives the thickest hits I have experienced with any vaporizer. The Solo gives the thickest hits I have experienced for a portable but it is hard to compare it to a home vape like the UD. Bowl size is also hard to compare as the UD has an adjustable bowl size.

For efficiency, the UD will once again top the Solo. I usually do one full cycle with the Solo, whereas 2-3 hits with my UD will leave me nice and medicated(I feel this is due to the thickness of hits from the UD). The Solo will definitely get you where you want to be it will just take a little longer to get there.

For taste, these two units are about equal IMO. Both offer great taste and a very pleasant vaping experience.

Both units are easy to use but in different situations. The UD is a great home vape. Load the stem, connect, and draw. Couldn't be any easier. The Solo is also the same routine but takes a minute or two to preheat. The solo is perfect for on the move, going over to a friend's house, or chilling on the back deck. Not quite stealth enough to be considered a stealth vape though(IMO).

And as far as ABV color, both vapes can produce dark brown evenly cooked ABV. I have 2 stems to use with my UD. One the screen is far from the heater core and I start the bowl with this one. The screen in the other stem is closer to the heating core and is used as my finishing stem. With the solo, just turn the power up to 6-7 to finish the load.

Sorry if this comparison seemed straight to the point. I typed the entire thing from my IPhone :D

No, that was perfect, thank you. I already felt good about my choice for the UD & you only confirmed what I hoped for after my research so far. Hope to get my hands on one soon :brow:

I'm pretty pleased with my ceramic Solo's taste as well. I compared it to my Vapocane the other day (which is the purest tasting vape I tried so far), & it's right on par with it through water.

edit:oh, just one more question, is there a noticeable difference in vapor temperature between the two of these when it reaches your mouth? Lets say with the Solo on the highest setting you use it on.

Everclear is 190 proof, if it will take fingernail polish off then...as long as there's not an excess of caked on dry resign, it cuts right through..
actually everclear has lowered their alcohol percentage to 151. I just picked up some stuff called Volkov I believe. That was the only one that I could find that is still 190 proof.

Everclear used to have 2 versions, a 190 proof and a 151 proof. I have not heard that they have discontinued their 190 proof version. I'll have to swing by the store and see if I can still get the 190. Some states won't allow the sale of 190. Nevada does.
my state does allow it and that is the word around the liquor store here. So IDK. But I did find that other 190 proof one.

Well, I just drank the kool-aide and pulled the trigger on the Solo from our good friends at puffitup. It's all your fault, Gonzo!

congrats. look forward to more comparison to the new TV.

Edit: Go!!Bot: Yeah if your ABV is not coming out Dark Brown or Black on 7 something is running cold. email arizer and they will take care of you.

I liked so many things about the solo except the light heat, now that I know how they should run I want to buy one myself

That is a bad idea, no doubt it will liqufy at like 50 and then seep through the convection holes the boottom of the crucible.

Anybody has the optional AC adapter?

Could you leave the solo always on with it?

I've got it, and no, you can't, because the 12 minute auto-off timer is still in effect when it's running off the power adapter

I see, in that case that might not be too bad an idea. How much ABV are you using?

I gave myself a treat today. I was looking for a case for the solo.

I picked a saddleback satchel.

Will post pics of both when they arrive!
