Arizer Solo

Last night my solo took a terrible fall and came out unscathed. While drinking and hanging outside I knocked the solo off a very tall table maybe 4ft tall right onto concrete and the stem didnt even break. This was after she was the bell of the ball everyone wanted some of the solo and wow does it handle a large group pretty well. I even had non smokers partaking. Also burned the piss out of myself with a stem for first time today , holy shit

if the legality of things wasnt an issue i'm sure i'd feel differently about toting around the solo and its delicious-smelling, honeyed up stem.

Agreed , one of the main reasons Im still into vaping is the aspect of honey collection . I personally like to run my oil out with heat rather than iso , makes for a tastier stronger treat . So that means I like my stem nice and soaked in honey oil . Visually not very appealing in a stealth situation . So I find I have to have one set of stems for home use and a set for mobile use that I regularly clean with iso . Pita but what can you do in this society .

Speaking of honey oil , I ran some through the solo last night , mashed a glob of it into some shake for flavor .mmmmmm , what a wonderful sleep :) Been a while since Ive hit that stuff , I remember now why I dont bring it out all the time . When I do , all my friends go ape shit for it and offer me crazy cash for it . I worked hard to create that much oil :brow: Im not about to sell it to anyone for any price . Honey oil is the reward for being a good egg and not combusting . Cherish it .

Yeah the drawback to the 1.5 inch stem is the slow collection of resins for honey oil. So maybe the solution is to use the stealth shorties for the road and run with full size, gummed, up nasty looking, disgusting, honey rich stems at home and then horde the resulting oil for myself. After all I wouldn't want not to offend anyone's senses. Yeah that's it.

Did I miss something? Are there a variety of stems available now? I am only familiar with the bent and straight 2 or 4 hole of the standard length.

I cut my own down with a glass cutter and 1.5 inch is just before the bend. I have to use a little band of surgical hose for a mouth piece cuz it will get hot. But I was talking about prepacking and capping these bullets for use out and about. In that case one bowl at a time would not get very hot.

140 pages! wowzers. I remember lurking when there were about 30 pages to this.

Hello everyone! I am currently in the market for a good portable vape. I've been interested in the arizer solo ever since I found out about it being released. Can anyone comment on how stealthy it is in terms of smell; would I be able to keep it in my college dorm? How easy is it to clean?

Call me lazy, but 140 pages... :ninja:

Also, I'm coming across places that sell it for as much as $270 USD, as low as $150. I am noticing some defect reports, and want the latest edition/version. Any information on the versions and sellers that don't have any possible knockoffs/replicas would be appreciated!

In terms of smell it isn't very stealthy. If I leave my room with my Solo heating up my herb there is a noticeable smell upon return. I have even noticed this to be the case on my patio as well, the smell is pretty obvious. If your herbs are dank and you are heating them up there is always going to be some smell. I prefer to use my Solo outside to avoid a lingering smell.

You can minimize the smell by using something like the SmokeBuddy to mask your exhales. Keeping spray handy or a window cracked will certainly help but the smell is at times undeniable.

I have purchased Solo's from PuffItUp.com and GreatVape.com with no issues or defects. They are both fantastic companies with some of the best customer service around.

Some smell horribly and others claim no smell. If you got one like either of mine you would smell it from a great distance out of a dorm room IMO. The defects don't seem related to any knockoffs or replicas, these issues are happening with regular arizer manufactured units. If you ask me it's really a crapshoot, but at least they are good about replacing them. Seems like you can go through as many returns as needed until you get a decent functioning one.

For stealth as a number 1 priority you should look into the MFLB, though that is admittedly not close to as hard of a hitter.

Steve tested one for smells for me before they send me a replacement for my warranty replacement. Express shipping costs to Holland can't be cheap :)

But I don't think that are the smells Pallzey referred to Darkrom.

I can smell mine to when it's heating up, but it's very subtle compared to smoke. I've had people coming over right after I vaped a bowl and asked them if they could smell anything, and the answer is usually now. If they do smell anything it's usually the herbs I got laying around.

Cleaning up is a breeze. The unit itself is basically maintenance free, all you have to clean are the glass stems.

Hey lazy, it's alot of reading, but it would benefit you tremendously if you at least skimmed through. I highly recommend this vape as a portable, but again if you read the thread you will educate yourself with the various issues. Otherwise just bite the bullet, and get one, and then come back and post your observations/opinions. Welcome out of the lurking cave!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY reccommend the Solo for a portable. I own a MFLB and a vaporblunt, and use to own an NO2.

The Solo is so elegant and simple. Its extremely easy to clean, there is essentially 1 part, the stem. It can be rather stealthy if you want it to be, or you can amp up the temp and get retardedly large clouds.

Awesome. Thanks for the inputs.

Appreciate the welcome! And yes, I have skimmed through here and there, just havent came across those bits that I had questions about.

I am liking these results... just one small concern. Notice these prices; shipping fees cannot skim a narrow enough deviation.

$170 http://buyarizer.com/
$200 http://arizersolovaporizer.org/
$230 http://www.vapeworld.com/vaporizers/arizer-solo-vaporizer
$290 http://www.vapornation.com/store/arizer-vaporizer/Arizer-Solo-Vaporizer.html

Besides some not having the other accessories, is there some reason in quality as to why they all would have such price differences?

I do no think there is, Authorized dealers, greed, priced at what they think they can get, the quantity they buy, profit margin wanted. Otherwise the factory seems to honor all. In general most people seem to be happy with where they purchased their's problems or not. I bought mine from the link below. It is a ceramic M104. Short battery life which I plan to contact Arizer about, otherwise excellent all around unit. You could email them and see if they are now sending out the newest M105 SS. But you really should read thru the posts more thourghly for getting your questions anwsered.
Comes with a very nice hard case that alone sells for $45. The package deal is $180.

I would just get whatever is cheapest, ebay etc. because you'll still have warranty. Don't pay more than $200. If you can, i'd also wait it out as I am... the product will improve over time if the past is any indication. Specifically i'm looking for more battery life, and a bit more heat (like the ceramic)..i'm confident they will improve it. I'm holding off until next summer, when I will actually need a portable.

personally i love the heat settings of the stainless steel.
i do not need anything hotter, and if it is hotter, its just releasing the chemicals that destroy my blood pressure and give me puking headaches.

as to the smell. its entirely dependent on the quality of your weed.
if you are using compassion club bud then its gonna REEEEEEk. trust me. lol, even at warp 4.
if you are using just plain ol' street weed. you really dont have any worries(unless it smells real dank in the bag)

here at home, if i have a stinky bag, i blow through my home made smoke sucker i made for my soldering activities. works perfect, basically a computer fan attached to a 1Lpop bottle with the bottom cut off, and a respirator filter under that.

vapor goes in stinky, comes out with no odour

you can also just open a window. only takes 2 minutes to clear vap smell.

Regarding more heat, I just received a ceramic M104. Smell issue aside (which is nearly gone), this thing gets so hot, it will blacken your meds on 5. I have to keep it on 3 to get more than two pulls before spending the load. Regarding battery life, being that this isn't on when you're not using it, a charge can last all day depending on usage.

Well, i've been made aware of somebody who received an M106 this morning. All i can state is that i've seen the bottom of that M106 clearly labelled:

Have you used the ceramic? It's not just about top end temp, I think it extracted "thicker" vapor than the SS. Regardless, not a huge deal, just have to use one setting higher on the SS, which kinda sucks IMO.

I'm a medical user and have access to AAA buds. I never had any smell issues from the bud if I vaped it. If it just sat there wasting away, then yeah could leave a smell.

Hey man, the SS don't get as hot as the ceramic. And if it's blackening meds on 5, your unit doesn't work like the rest. I'd contact Arizer. I could vape and vape and vape on setting 4 or 5, and get nicely brown toasted. I couldn't even blacken on temp 7. It's not designed to combust. 2 pulls on 3 and spent? Not supposed to work that way. Luckily you'll receive a new unit, SS to boot.

Re: battery life... I had NO prob with the ceramic battery life, but the SS battery dropped significantly.

Really odd. I asked Arizer Steve what the latest serial nr/model is just last week and he told me that the M105 was it. Can't argue with that photo though.

Have you tried vaping through water? A small bong or bubbler can make a lot of difference, it's pretty much the only way I vape.
