Arizer Solo

Every time I read this thread I feel crazy. Like I must be the only person who owns a solo that has no odd smells(the only smell I find is the smell of the heated bowl, I find that on a lot of vapes), no odd taste, no chipping or flaking, no headaches, and no annoying noise that I can hear.

So am I really the only one that has used their solo everyday for over 2 months and has no problems or complaints with the device? Because that is making me feel fucking insane for being so satisfied with a unit everyone else seems to have tons of problems with.

Honest question: Is anyone here as satisfied with their solo as I am? Or am I just one lucky bastard who's luck is bound to run out? :uhoh:

My solo and its warranty replacement both have chipping issues. that is all

I dont care, I love my solo & would buy another one, but would reccommend to others to wait for the next model.

Arizer have raised the bar for sure tho, but I guess its not the messaih some of us thought. (it still is for me)
But while its still pumping out those bad ass clouds I love soooo much for a tiny amount, my DBV & HA are gathering dust in a box.

No, there are at least two of us mate ;)

I don't use mine every day anymore though, but that's just because I like playing with big torches so much.

I've used my Solo for about 4 or 5 months now and have no smell / taste / chipping / strange sound issues at all. Just big cloud after big cloud. I'm very satisfied with mine. Add me to the satisfied customer list.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Seems like a lot of forums lean heavily towards those seeking new information and those who are having issues. The Im satisfied viewpoint is often underrepresented.

I play in a friendly poker game a couple of times a month with a bunch of long time friends (we've been playing for almost 40 years now). The Solo has recently become a favorite of the group and amongst us we now have 6 of them. Although two are mine (a chipped one and its SS replacement). All units purchased at different times from different sources.

In the group the only issue has been my chipped unit (only two small spots, but they replaced it with a SS unit without any hassle). None of the other reported issues are present in the 6 units...no smells, no noises, no taste issues, and so far no battery issues.

As for actual use, the consensus seems to be using whole buds (no metal screens), four hole stem, heated up to 4 initially, but dropping to 3 when you start pulling on it to keep the heater around 190C.

YMMV

I have never seen an Arizer rep post anything here. Kevin from Rockwise has posted a couple of threads to inform FC members of new product availability but I do not believe he is an official Arizer rep in any way.

I like my Solo but have had weird headaches and an increase in my Menieres Disease symptoms when using it. MD and headaches are intertwined for me. I thought I was crazy about this but now that others are reporting similar effects....

My Solo has been officially retired and will go into the vape and bong graveyard in the basement. My health is too important to take the risk. I will just eat the $$$ loss as I cannot in good conscience sell it to anyone. And mine is one of the "good" ones with no flaking or perceptible (to me) odors.

Kudos to Arizer for the innovation. Boooo to Arizer for releasing a product that is potentially harmful to its users.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I'm another one of the 'satisfied' customers since July 5th of this year. Scratch that........ I'm VERY satisfied, and absolutely love my Solo that I've been fortunate enough not to experience smells, tastes, or chipping with multiple daily use.

I do however have started having cluster headaches, but have suffered from them for years during drastic weather pressure changes and during high seasonal mold times (allergic). I did temporarily shelf my unit for a week after reading concerns here about it, but found it didn't matter and since have started using it again because it made no difference to me (and I missed the hell out my favorite vape machine).

Certainly sorry to hear of others issues (any & all), and I truly hope you find your resolve.

Despite having had problems, I am now a satisfied customer. Also Randy immediately sent me the SS Solo. Besides the Mild frequency noise I only hear when vaping alone basically, I must say there is no bad taste or smell, and I can't imagine that bowl chipping, but I guess i'll never find out.

Yes, generally people are more likely to voice their negative opinion of something rather than a positive one. I felt this might be the case here as well, many people with faulty solo's are reporting here, while the happy ones are busy vaping and forgetting to share their experiences haha

Good to know there are some solo's that perform as great as mine does. I just hope that Arizer can make it so 100% of the units perform on par with mine. This really is a nice vape that can be a great vape if these issues are addressed. I wish we can all be happy solo owners someday. That is up to Arizer though it seems.

No, I'm another very satisfied Solo user. Been using it for nearly three months now. I've used the Iolite and my boyfriend's Silver Surfer, and my Solo is my favorite, and my daily-use vaporizer.

No weird smells, no chipping (so far), no sounds that I can hear. I love it.

I have not had my Solo that long, but other than a slight plastic taste at the end of a bowl, which is probably masked earlier in the bowl by the herb. Otherwise overall happy and I love it. I just hope the plastic taste wears off with use. :ko:

I believe I found what's causing the smell issue! Don't know if this is the source of the prolblem for others, but personally I have never actually used my Solo over temp setting 4 (did do it during break in).

I decided to leave my Solo on setting 7 for a good while (about 10 minutes give or take) and I also (for the first time ever since I got my Solo) left the plastic cap on the top.

When I went into the room where my solo was, the stench was immediately noticeable and extremely strong... Smelled like nasty melting plastic. After I realized it was the cap being on that was causing the smell I removed the cap and left my unit on high again and eventually after a few cycles the smell has dissipated, but when I get close and smell the cap there is still a faint hint of yuck.

I let my solo run on 7 for the full 12 minute cycle 3-4 times and it still stinks :/ It makes me GAG too so its not me being picky for once either. Too bad :(

Ive had my Solo for about 5 months now. Its been alright. I got it because I wanted something quieter than my iolite. However, the last time I used it I don't know what happened but it was like the worst headspace I've ever been in, in my life. I set the SOLO at 5 and put in some of this "creamsicle" herbs I have. After 3 long pulls I was feeling this really intense high come on like "Oh fuck... this is going to be interesting." 10 mins later I was miserable. I couldn't stop having awful thoughts about dying. It was a really amazingly terrible experience. I've never had anything like that at all. It was like all I got was THC and the CBD's that balance the THC out were left behind. I had like a full hour of this shit where I was literally verbally talking myself through it. I have to admit I'm a little gunshy to use it again. :uhoh:

No bad smell or flaking though...

Lou, was this a new strain by any chance? What were you vaping? Did it seem to produce the same amount of vapor that it normally does?

It wasn't a new strain to me. I've been using it, not too heavily for a little while. It produced a big vape cloud on the 1st pull. It was my first time vaping with the SOLO at 5, though. Its hard to say if it produced more than normal. I quit vaping way before the 12 minutes was up because it was hitting me so hard.

I think it was called OG Creamsicle or Ice Cream something. I'll have to ask the guy I split this deal with. He'll remember. I tried eating a cookie I'd made with some other stuff and using a vapor genie to see if something was up with my state of mind since then and those both worked like normal. No return to that dark and hopeless place.

I'm convinced it was the temp and the strain interacting to release some unbalanced chemicals so that I got the darkness instead of the happiness. Its all guesses at the point.

Cookies and VG to the rescue!

Hope it all works out ok for you. Try the Creamsicle on 4 and let us know how it works.

Mine smelled terribly bad from even being on for a few minutes like that for the VERY first time. If you've done it many times then I'm not sure what worked for mine will work for yours.

All I can say is new users make sure you avoid leaving the cap on while heating.

I think it all has to do with the state of mind you were at the time. My buddy just recently had a very similar experience and it just so happens he was using my solo. But we have vaped the same weed out of the same solo without the same effects. So there has to be a better and more logical explanation for it.

Hi,

No you're not alone ;)
I've used my Solo everyday for about 2 months now, and have no bad smell or bad taste, no flaking issue, and also no sound issues at all. Just very satisfied of the Solo, and enjoying big clouds.

My only problem is that the battery does not last long enough to take a full day...
So I just ordered a second solo, with the supply of puffitup (failed to know if these are new versions with SS bowl).

Unless FC removed their post, I know for a fact that "arizer tech" HAS posted in this thread when the product first came out. It was their first (and only) post. Arizer could ease alot of minds by showing a presence, and probably reducing the size of their inbox too.

I received my new SS solo! I wish it was the same color as my original, but it has a black face plate, no big deal considering this was as FREE replacement! I also received the 4 hole stems (one straight, one bent), and now my biggest problem is that they don't fit in the bowl!!! Has anyone had any issues like this with the SS? Is it a "breaking in" thing in that they will get looser? I mean, like I almost have to break the damn stem just to get it in. It's like this for both new stems, but they fit fine in my old flaking solo.

These headaches that some of you are reporting are a bit concerning, but I never get them. I do know that with my very first solo that stunk to high heavens, I was using higher temps forsure 5-7. With the replacement for that I dropped temps to 4-5 and no smell...coincidence? maybe.

The smell/taste/headache/peeling/battery/noise issues are REALLY scaring me away from this thing unfortunately...

As it should IMO. Anyone who disagrees I have to ask...why not? The manufacturer is remaining 100% silent about that and brushing it off like everything else. It is my opinion that they VANISHED from this site because they simply do not want to be held accountable and answer our questions and concerns. That's seriously frustrating to the customers to buy a product that they don't really stand behind. Sure the warranty is fine, if you want a new unit with other problems that they won't address.

An Arizer rep has posted in this thread? I've read the entire thread and did not see Arizer post once so I don't think they VANISHED.

here for the chicks
I had a stem that was to thick, sounds like you need to exchange them cause i don't think that bowl is gonna grow :)

King Lou, never had one from MJ myself, but that sounds like a typical bad trip dude. Could be you went to high in the temp range for you or simply used to much, but it could also be just a state-of-mind-in-the-moment-thing. I never get panicky from vaping (I did from smoking sometimes) but if it happened it usually indicated it was time to sit back and meditate to find out what was actually bothering me from the inside. Just proceed with care, it may also indicate it's time for a little mj break perhaps.

The headache reports worry me quite a bit, something that should really be looked in to. Has anyone with the headache problem contacted Arizer yet? If not you all please do so, because this is the most serious problem with the Solo up to now imo.

OhTheAgony,

darkrom

Great Scott!
I haven't contacted arizer about the headaches. They have good replacement policy, but to be frank I honestly don't think arizer has ANY interest in anything other than making money. They fixed the ceramic bowl which was huge and I commend them for their replacement policy, but they SUCK at answering questions. They copy and paste general statements (organic ceramic letter comes to mind) and won't take the time to address us at all. They haven't really provided the community any answers or information from the beginning.

The only thing I'm really interested in from them is a return option at this point. There are serious issues that are simply being ignored and that's BS to me. What good is a warranty if the replacement units have serious issues from the start? This vape definitely makes me wonder if I have to reconsider my early adoption of any electronic based vaporizer in the future. What started out like a vaporist's wet dream has turned into a nightmare real fast IMO. I can't/won't even use mine. It sits there off because if I turn it on I'll get funky flavor/smell/headaches etc. Honestly I feel like I paid for nothing...but hey they sent me a replacement nothing with a new flake free bowl
