I don't think the aluminum is going to matter. there appears to be no conclusive evidence that Al has any obvious bad effects on health. also Al has a boiling point of 2500C or 4500F so its doubtful even any would get into the vapor and then into your body. but I'm no expert.

Did just that and not even a speck. I didn't think it was confirmed that those holes actually go somewhere?

I use a 2 piece space case so the grind is pretty fine too.

From inside the unit through the 4 heat bowl holes.I use a 4 piece alu grinder to prep my stuff.gives me a nice fine grind.

if you remove the stem then you need to kiss the solo bowl and draw quickly(suck) from the main chamber .whatever is in there will come out into youre mouth and its old abv yes.And i found enough to concern me. No biggies just have to keep an eye but its a useful technique if you wanna clear the airpath in the unit.small bits are bound to drop down the 4 holes inside the bowl.I really should use nugs but I prefer ground product sitting on the dome screen.nice clean rips

Just thinking, be great to see exactly how the solo works the air path?,where the electrics are? the heater unit itself and the thermostat.

its such a well constructed unit mechanically.
and so far battery seem to be holding up to the task

Hi everybody, I'm Papa Woody and I've been lurking on this topic for a few months now and have really enjoyed the information you guys have worked out using the Solo. Very informative, you all rock!
My question is concerning the ABV particles working their way into the inner housing of the Solo.
Can it be used upside down so the payload stays in the glass bowl? Would a fine mesh screen placed in the cup keep the particles out of the cup holes?
I don't have a Solo yet but I plan to order one in the next few weeks before ski season starts. Looks like a great chairlift vape!
I'll let you know how it works out for me.

Yes, the solo can be used upside down with no issues, I do it all the time.
I have read you can put a screen in over your herb after packing the stem, but I personally don't bother with that.

Yeah, I think the tiny holes on the bottom of the bowl aren't much bigger than particles that would fall through a screen anyway. I really don't see the point of the lower screen to be honest.

In my experience theres no need to be too concerned with the ABV particles, just add it to your maintenance schedhule & give it a quick clean by taking the cap off & shake a bit every so often.

or take the cap off & wrap your laughing gear around the top & suck like a $20 hooker. You will get a mouthful of ABV, but it could be worse.

you could actually be a $20 hooker & then there are a lot worse mouthfulls to be on the lookout for than ABV.

There is alum all over the inside of the Solo so removing the paint from the cap should not increase the exposure to alum a measurable amount I wouldn't think. There are allot of exposures out there. Unless you are using an herb that you grew consider that anything else potentially will have herbicides,pesticides,insect dung, mold, mites and the list goes on. But I have decided that I am ok with that cuz I rarely ever never turn anything down.

Unfortunately humor isn't always universal, and ones intentions are often hard to read on the internet where we have to make due with silly emoticons as a poor substitute for facial expressions, voice intonation and such, so I can see the misunderstanding. Still no need for name calling though.

Just got the Solo from Puffitup for 189$. I love it, perfect for work! I got a snug stem and a loose stem, so I'm happy. I cut DBV screens down to the same size as the stems diameter and it stays in perfectly. I don't see how one would hit ground up bud in this device without an added screen though, it sucks right through those two little holes. I have a question though, when its charging I noticed the numbers start lighting up until it gets to 7, does that indicate the charge level? If so how do I bring that up when its not plugged in. Also Randy told me I'm getting the SS version, how do I confirm that, because everything seems to be coated in ceramic?

my 4 hole stems are kinda loose on my unit I get banging hits with it!! I can actually see the vapor flowing throughout the tube now, versus it just just loading in their and you have no idea how much its flowing. Also my material is more of a browned look, then the darkness I was getting before.

When I press the two buttons to turn on my Solo it flashes how much charge it has while its beeping. Then I just hold the arrow on the right to get it to my last temp setting.

There are some pictures of the SS bowl a few pages back. If you compare those to yours you'll probably know right away if you have one or not.

If you look in where you insert the stems it should look like metal anyway, not black.

When you first turn on the Solo the lights give away how full the battery is, after that it tells how hot the heater still is.

OK thanks guys. This is going to sound weird but I feel like my Solo gives off some frequency every now and then. It sounds like that mosquito sound you can play on a phone or computer. Its kind of iritating, but then again I cant tell if its real..

Also the temp indicator lights tend to blink sometimes and move up and down temp every now and then, is this normal? Also the bowl is black but there is a silver ring before it.

Funny you say that about the noise. My girlfriend was saying the same exact thing when we used it for a lengthy road trip. I however did not hear it. I thought she was crazy...
