Vaporizers in Amsterdam

Im off to Amsterdam in a few weeks and although im going to take my own ssv with me im not sure i really want to lug it around with me all the time or fork out for for a MFLB.

Ive done a search but cant find anything and wanted to know if there is a list of coffeeshops with vapes and what vape they have.

If there is a list then i apologise for not searching well enough and can you link it here.

If not then please list any coffeeshops you know that have a vape for public use.

EDIT: just found the Arizer dealer on Kerk Straat. Does anyone know if you can test the vaporizers there? Or is there another head shop or somewhere that lets you test different vapes?

The Grey Area has Volcanoes for use, and I'm sure that Greenhouse Centrum does as well. But I can't say anything about the cleanliness of the mouthpieces.

I'm going in November and do not plan on taking anything with me; I'll buy an MFLB and a bong when I get there. The Old Indian Shop is your best bet for picking up a vaporizer. Don't kill me if I'm wrong, but there are places you can rent vaporizers, but from what I remember, the cost to rent an SSV was 1/2 what it would cost to buy it outright.

this place will hire a volcano but 25 a day 60 for 3days and 120euros a week not sure if they rent SSV but judging from the prices its them or an avarage price.

Hunters bar apparently has a SSV for free use.

Yep and so do most of the Barneys. Volcanoes were the only vapes I've seen out for general use (Grey Area's Volcano was my first ever use of a vape!). To clean the mouthpieces they usually have anti-bacterial wipes on hand, whether or not that eases the hygienic worries is up to you.

I was wondering about taking my SSV and MFLB when I go again this summer, but thought the SSV was too big to lug around, and also the hassle of having to ask for and then find a table by a plug socket. Seats can be sparse at the best of times in the coffeeshops.

One of the great things about being in Europe is that you don't need to fly to Amsterdam. Driving from my residence in the South, it takes just over 5 hours driving (including ferry across to France) to get to Amsterdam - about the same time it takes to get from the South to the North of England. On the ferries they hardly check you at all, and you'd have to be very unlucky to be subjected to an in-depth car search. Customs aren't really there to catch a few stoners with a few grams, they have bigger problems to deal with!

Dolphins, on the way down to Leidseplein has 3 or 4 Verdampers you can use! But as a shop it's so-so.

I bought some Maroc there and asked if I could use the Verdamper with some of my other bud but I wasn't allowed.... I had only bought hash and if I wanted to use the vape I had to buy weed too.

Any coffeeshops with stupid rules like that should be avoided in my opinion.

Anyway most, if not all, of the bigger coffeeshops have Volcanos you can use, though nowadays you have to buy a bag and valve for 4 euros or so. But it makes it more hygienic and you can carry it round for the whole trip and reuse it so it's not too bad.
They make one hell of a noise in your pocket....

I'd say just smoke while in Amsterdam. Vapings great but smoking a joint outside in public, sitting next to the canals, watching boats slowly drift by... it's purely amazing. You're honestly not going to want to spend much time in the coffee shop (althought some of them are very cool). Bring a portable vape, and just smoke the rest. When in Rome!

i say this. the glass you could clean well and just toss the tubing before the return trip. a used MFLB is impossible to clean well enough to bring back home. you would have to leave it behind, thus leaving you out $100.

plus i guarantee people are gonna be coming up to you asking WTF that thing is, which means plenty of free sessions. :brow:

Assuming I buy an MFLB in Amsterdam, or take one there, I have no intention of taking it home. In my case, I would only use the MFLB in a hotel room as the 2 places I'm looking at do not allow smoking inside the rooms. In public, I would be smoking joints or probably using a bong.

What about picking up a Coil VG just for the trip? An extra $40 doesn't hurt the pocketbook too much (in regards to a transatlantic flight+hotel) and you wouldn't have to fret about it that much if you decide you need to ditch it before the flight back. Although, with the coil, it's completely cleanable so you could just iso clean it the last day there....and I'd think it'll be better off for luggage checks/TSA bullshit.

It's one of my friends birthdays the same week this year as the 'Cup, and he really wants to go there. However, a week of combusting would thrash the lungs. So this will probably be my solution.
Have a great trip! It's too bad the Pink Floyd Coffeeshop got bought out by Dampkring. That place was definitely gezellig.

not been to amsterdam in a long while(even tough I live in the netherlands, but I live in the north and don't come in the west that often), but I've read that there are multiple coffeeshops that have vaporizers that you can use freely if you are there(I've only heard about shops that hace a volcano or verdamper tough)
but I don't know wich shops, just that they are around so I'm sure there are some in amsterdam too

not seen this before. How good is it have you used one? Please tell me what its like if you have as it looks great. I was thinking of also taking a Vapostar. I have just tried one and although found it it excellent first try (used a jet flame) I found it started to get a metalic taint so im not sure about this one at the moment.
Im very interested in the other lighter type vapes at the moment too. Have you tried the original VG is it worth taking one of them with me or can i get one there ? What other lighter vapes have you tried and recomend?

http://fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=2 - last few pages has/had a few reviews on the coil bat.

The original VG is the only lighter based vape I've personally used, but I've read up on the Glass VG/Vaporstar/Supreme. I really enjoy the VG. It has probably one of the steepest learning curves of vapes that I've hit, as it takes just a little practice to get the breathing/lighting technique down. Once you do though, I've been able to generate massive, tasty, and effective clouds. Only reason I just gifted mine to a friend is that after I bought a MFLB, I didn't need the VG for portable duties.

For me, I'll be going that route for the trip just because if it gets really rezzed out and I can't find ISO to clean it (I know that in some countries - such as New Zealand - you actually need a prescription to buy ISO) $40 is not that big of a hit to the wallet. On my first trip to Amsterdam, I just picked up a couple small pieces then gifted them to obvious first-day tourists during my last stop at a coffeeshop. No point in risking anything for a cheap pipe.

My suggestion is just the most inexpensive cleanable working vape I can find...the coil/bat styles are the only non-glass fully cleanable options they have, so that's why I'm choosing one for my trip. I know they work well and offer solid - if not great - taste, and can be fairly efficient depending on bowl size. They'll be cheaper over here, and as long as it's perfectly clean, The Man can't hold it as paraphernalia. Hope this helps.
