On the inside with a little ... what was that guy's name? drawing of a face peeping over the wall...

As a carpenter I used to put new pennys in odd places that would be found on de-construction. Drill a hole in a current dated penny and nail it somewhere, like up in the rafters of some hand roof framing (jacks or ridge). Nothing like that here but wonder what other oppotunity there is for posterity?

I concur, the pictures of 'figured walnut' on google does no justice for the piece you turned, absolutely stunning.

Tom,

You should hire some gnomes to help you out... I hear they are capable carpenters and excellent typists. I'm sure they would work for a 'herbal salary'. :brow:

On the power adapters;

I went to the local Radioshack to see what I could find. Not much. :p No power adapters that would work or a dc to ac adapter. The dude tried to wire one up for me, but we tried a cell phone charger in it and it wouldn't work.

We are also out of the heatshrinkwrap stuff at work.... funny, because I remember using it to fix a power plug right before winter break. None at Radioshack either. :uhoh:

I tried electric tape, but that didn't work.... if I were to splice this open, could I theoretically 'fix' the connection? Anyones input is appreciated.

I guess it wouldn't hurt, but right now I have my PD setup just right that I can use it, but if I move it at all, their is no power. It's kinda funny, but boy, I take this thing for granted now....

Don't worry, even if someone copied the design and made it 1/2 the price I know where I'd buy it from, the 2 people who put thought and care into it ,making sure it's 100% lead free and bomb proof and offering the best customer support in the industry, that alone is worth more than a few lousy $.
You got that right. It's also a sure thing that nobody with the talent to reverse engineer the PD and build a qualtiy clone will be willing to sell 'em for Tom's prices, let alone less. And if Tom takes steps to cut production time in order to meet demand (think pre-cut/pre-formed parts), production costs will go up.

I hate to say it but the waiting list (4 units) for the figured Black Walnut for April is full (I believe) and testing hasn't started... Folks who have spoken up here that are already in the Purple Days Family it seems ... From here on we will need an e-mail request to put you on the list. Posting here doesn't count.
Tom has been very nice and accommodating about putting people on the waiting list and with questions about lead time, availability, etc., but the forum is not the place to do business. Please direct any questions about specific availability, order status, etc., to Tom and Pam via email. And that applies to Vapenow.com as well. Don't expect Tom or anyone here to know Vapenow's shipping schedule or what he has in stock. I'm sure Tom will keep us up to date with what's going on in PD land. We should appreciate his posts but also leave him some time to build some vapes. ;)

:ninja: i was just testing you. haha sorry, i didnt remember the post you were referencing to, its such a big thread. You used "know" instead of "knew" i guess that threw me off. Just wanted to make sure you knew. My b. Yea that was bad ass when he ate the blunt. I watched that scene like 10 times, i couldnt stop laughing.

I want to get some extra tubes for my pd. However, what I want to do is assign a color code each tube so that when I go to my friends homes, everyone will get to have their own tube for the night. Initially I thought about using small round solid color stickers smaller than a #2 pencil eraser head. But since alcohol is the cleaning agent used to clean the tubes the stickers would probably come right off after a good soaking. Thought about just making a tiny dot with the tip of a sharpie marker using a different color for each tube. But sharpies will come off in alcohol as well. I like the tubes as they are but just want a simple little tiny dot of color on six different tubes for social situations in order for each person to remember which tube is theirs. Any ideas?

patterns of electrical tape...just take em off each time you wash them...they all come out clean anyways so it dosent really matter if its "your" PD tube....they all the same after the wash..

Color coding seems like a good idea but I think any sort of food-safe paint, enamel, or stickers would come right off in the alcohol wash like you mentioned.

I can think of two options off the top of my head. Either scratch a symbol, either roman numerals or letters, in the frosted plastic part of the tube. Or get some smaller diameter rubber bands of different colors and wrap them around the middle of each tube a few times.

I've used some tiny colored rubber bands, simple to take off before cleaning.

Thanks guys, I knew you all would come up with something that would work. The small colored rubber bands should be perfect. Thanks again for the suggestions. :peace: to the leaf.

I have scratched "PD" into the stems i inserted new screens into(gives better hits IMHO)

cant tell theres a scratch unless you look very closely at wherever i marked it....

3 stems names(whats scratched into them)
-PD
-X
-WEED

forever tattooed on them like prisoners getting admitted into an Auschwitz work camp :/

at least I'll always kno which is which without futzing with another thing to lose/re-draw

Welcome to the family Shed7.

Spiral, too bad about the Radio Shack, but did you look to see if they had a raw Type M plug end? I can get you a cat# if you want. Then you can put it on what is left of the cord.

Anybody waiting, Monday will be the first of the new batch, and we will be going first request first, after I get the LED replacements out.

Gnomes? No we can't hire no gnomes. The dog doesn't like them... Yep, it's just us. Pammy says the Oregon minimum wage is over $ 8 an hour, a helper would be making more than me.

Just to make it clear... Ash, Maple and Walnut are untried woods and will be going thru 24/7 testing for a month or so, and none will be available till opening day. Till then The Original Cherry and a very limited supply of Tea Tree and Tas Blackwood.

Back to work...

You beat me to it, I never thought I'd say this about anytihing but I think '09 calls for a pricerise, 189 would still be dirt cheap.
