yep, obama's f.b.i. raided businesses that complied with state mmj laws with sealed warrants and guns drawn. the businesses had everything they owned including the plants trashed. no charges were filed and no reason was given for the raids.

i am a patient with big sky patient care and know the owners personally. they have cooperated with local and state law enforcement every step of the way while building their business. yesterday, federal officials basically destroyed their investment like nazi brownshirts.

This is VERY disturbing.....taking vehicles, freezing bank accounts.....no reason given. I thought Obama made his stance on this clear? I want to hear some kind of response from the Feds as to WHY.

Usually when shit like this happens in a legal MMJ state, there's something else going on like money laundering, tax evasion or some other illegal activity other than legally dispensing MJ.

Some of the city level raids in California seem to just be profiteering by police forces who seize cash and goods and then don't file charges. The current arrangements have a corrupting effect.

Lots of past raids in SoCal posted up on WeedTracker about one or two years ago. Most all of them were due to some other illegal activity going on, again, according to court records posted up at WT if they were carried out by the Feds. Raids carried out by local authorities was a whole other story.

the warrant was for a violation of the controlled substance act. no other charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.

an update:

our mmj law has been twisted so badly it has been rendered useless. here's an article with details....billings gazette . although i have a card i currently have no legal way to get meds. it's black market again for me.

btw, the federal raids have resulted in NO ONE actually getting charged for anything. they were just standard nazi brownshirt tactics designed to rob from citizens.

This is the reason no permits for dispensaries are being issued in Arizona. The Feds have said they will bust the folks who write the permits (no need to go after the permit holder, if you can scare source). Talk about some strong arm, no warrant needed tactics... It's hard to believe people see this as progress. :peace:

In AZ if you have no dispensary within 25 miles, and you have a medical card, you may grow.

BUT : you must grow within a 10 feet high concrete block wall with secured gate (latest I have heard). A 10' fooking wall? Just how much sunshine, or fresh air , gets through a ten foot fooking concrete wall? And try to get a building permit for a 10 foot fooking blockade wall in a residential area, where all the walls are 6 feet... Yeah, that's not gonna attract any attention down at city hall, is it?

This isn't exactly a state where you would want to sign up and wave your flag... Too bad for those that have put themselves on the 'Watch List' otherwise known as Medical Card Holders...

Less risk cruising The Hood for a connection, than signing up for an X marks the spot, whenever they next change the rules. Medical Marijuana (laws) is a big fucking joke, IMO. Notice which states are being harassed? And what ever happened to States rights ? ie. the right of a states residents to self govern, hold referendums and decide for themselves... Drive 55 !

Just heard the latest on the radio news this morning.

A) It is a Class 4 Felony to accept any item of any value in exchange for any amount of marijuana in AZ. (trafficing . . . ! )
B) That means nobody, nohow, noway, can exchange wampum for weed. That means you can't even trade weed for weed.
C) "Clubs" have been charging "entry fees" in an attempt to circumvent this... ie. Pay your entry fee, enter the "Club" and on your way out, get free "samples"... Uh, that's not gonna fly either... Busts made, lawsuits filed...

Like I say, a big fucking joke. :2c:

They have not softened on studies or rescheduling, have increased their pressure on states not to allow MMJ, all behind the scenes with no transparency.

The Brown Shirts were never so organized, but i think the comparison was just about the officers carrying it out

this is a classic case of saying one thing and then deciding to protect the status quo with all guns blazing - I don't think this is any different than when the USA used to send gun ships to other countries to protect our business interests, except we're in the cross-hairs and getting shot at

Don't you think, if the nation's swung to the right, Arizona's a bit ahead of the curve?

I know a couple there who are somewhat liberal democrats, probably only watch TV news and what they hear from co-workers, but they use the term Obamacare a little too easily for my comfort.
