The one and only Amboyna Tube I had available at my SC is already gone, took about 2 1/2 hours. Thats gonna be it for a while on Amboyna.

I'm the bastard that grabbed it lol. Sorry to the other people who were waiting for one but I knew waking up early on a Saturday had to have some kind of benefit.

Shit!

I didn't know they were that precious, and I thought about ordering one yesterday.

Is there anything cool on the horizon for Zap stems? My Walnut Zap is shipping next week.

Ah kewpcer, the same thing happened to me last time! I've wanted one ever since. I've been bugging Ed ever since.

I would recommend the bocote. It's really a beautiful wood and the finish is real smooth. Lots of grain. I think it would be a real nice contract with your walnut. Then again, the cocobolo is pretty darn nice too. :2c:

Will the flame show through a very light stain with tea? I've stained my LB that way, and it really pops the grain and gives it an amber, almost yellow oak hue..

Ed, any idea how the Flame Maple stem's grain and flames will react to a tea stain?

Kewpcer. I rub every piece down with a little BAB, I am sure that your technique would work for these if you'd like, the flame is so bright and brilliant I can see it really popping with anything you apply to it. I have seen Tiger Maple that has been stained dark and the stripes did still show up, they just weren't jumping out at ya

Kewpcer, it is rare and really expensive, the thing is just as dense as it is and a hard wood, being so unpredictable its just as fragile. I did have quite a pile of Amboyna, not so much now. I can work it easily into dugouts, turning it is a whole different story. I think I mentioned it earlier, I chopped out about 2 dozen blanks for stems, some were two tone with striking colors and bright bursting eyes, amazing stock, really nice stuff, I start to spin it and it goes to hell really quick. I drop my head, shake it and curse, off to the trash! Outa 24, 6 made it, these are some of the most expensive stems I have ever made. I was caught up on other products and had to make tubes, so I spun two Amboyna, was fortunate both made it. My stock is getting slim on Amboyna, I will make some more, just not sure when I'll be feeling it. I did have a look at what I do have, how bout you send me an email, I am sure I have something for ya.

Shizle, you ship Monday, it may be there by then, if not the day after.

Just received my LB stem for 4/20!!! Ed, you're reading my mind. I've been thinking of a red tea stain to make my LB a red/blonde two-tone, and you send me this beautiful red/blonde two-tone koa stem. And, when you hit it with the beeswax, it show some nice striped figures that I tried to get on camera.

If you remind me in a few months, I'll ship you a pound or two of my heirloom maters. Maybe a Cherokee purp, a stripey and a black. I'd send you a German Johnson, but if I don't pick a small one for ya, it'd be 15 bucks to ship it, hehe. Those things can develop their own weather systems they get so big.

I received my Amboyna vapor tube from Ed yesterday. Perfect surprise for the end of the day on 420! Ed, I have to say that I think this is the prettiest one yet. Beautiful burl with red eyes and a real smooth finish. I think this is my new favorite.

Ed my brother received his Bocote MZ stem, Koa LB stem yesterday, and he got me an Amboyna LB stem. The Amboyna LB stem looks too good! His birthday is coming up and I want to surprise him with an Amboyna stem for his Zap. He would be too happy with one.

Good deal Kewpcer, I am glad you like that piece and hell yeah I would like to get some of your maters! Pls do let me know when their ready! We have been planting all week, looking forward to the sweet creamed corn!

I am glad you like your piece also Mom, I knew you would like that piece.

Nebera, I am also glad you and your bro are happy with the wood. I would like to oblige you with an Amboyna Tube, just dont see em really soon. I have a small pile of Amboyna and am kinda leary about chopping it all up, once I start ripping it, then its gone. I am trying to get more, have my eyes on some always, just dont like to run out of it. It so rare and expensive, its like gold to me, as long as I have some, I have a sense of comfort, if I dont have any then I am stressing trying to get some. I know it sounds crazy but I cant help it.

Its like a fire in the forest, as long as there is a flame, all is good!

Thanks again everyone for the biz and the kind words!

Ed - Just wanted to say that Mahoe tube ordered a few weeks back has become a favorite. Love the colors and feel of this particular piece. A little BAB on the tube and it polishes up beautifully! :2c:

Hmmm, I guess I forgot to hit submit.

I got my Mahoe and Bocote tubes two days ago. Thanks again Ed. They are beautiful. The Mahoe has a subtle look and the Bocote is just striking with one very well defined eye, and very smooth to the touch. Great job again.

Bum, you gotta love that Mahoe for all it is, truly one of Mother Natures beauties! Glad you like it.

Also glad your happy to Reece, the Boco you got does have that bright eye that really distinguishes that piece, very nice, thank you for the kind words.

Re-shot the Amboyna Stems, these are the newest I have spun, very bright and fiery. The Antonio coupon is still active, take advantage of it while you can.

Hey Ed, those custom pieces you made for me were the finest pieces I have been privileged to actually hold. They were given as gifts and they were gratefully received.

It is rare that I give gifts and your products certainly rose to the occasion and I sincerely thank you and the next time I am looking for wood products you are first and foremost in my mind and that has been my recommendation when talking about the subject to others.

Thanks again Ed,
Beezleb

djonkoman, I got your email from FC, but need you to send me an email, with your info for payment. Holla at me and we will go forward from there.

Have really been at this past few days, made some beauties and trashed a hellova lot more than I made. You think those Amboyna in the pics above look nice, you shoulda seen what I threw away in the trash! Its heart breaking at times to see how amazing they are and then they go to hell so quick, its a damn shame! Did spin some really nice Bocote Stems for the LB, even made some shorty wooden stems a little over an 1" in length, I didnt know some people dig the shorter stems than the longer. Seem like theres not enough there, seems like I am missing something with them in my hand. Hope to have the boco listed soon. I hope all is well out there.

Ed, my guess is that some people want the 1" stems to use with bongs - we insert these short stems into the bong stem and mate it with the MZ/PD and vape away...
you should try it if you have a bong. It is really twice as good as straight vaping. Still, I'm not sure if wood is the best choice for a waterpipe situation.

Some people also like the short stems rather than the longer 3" stems. Magic Flight used to sell them, but then deemed them a choking hazard. Now you can only get them if you buy the whip. I think there may be a few people out there who might be happy to hear they can get a short LB stem in wood.

A chocking hazard? Like someone could inhale it? Hm I guess its possible. One thing is certain, there will be quite few shorties headed out within the next week, so we will see how they go over.

Oh got my PA yesterday Mom, only had a chance to run through one trench, very nice! I dig it and am sure I will be digging it more later this afternoon!!!

 What can I say.....they must be hitting that LB pretty hard to suck that stem right out!

You're going to love that PA once you play around with it Ed. Gives great hits every time. Enjoy!

Good morning, hope all is well, just got these finished and loaded. Been wood hunting and have bought 20lbs. of eye popping camphor burl, these chunks have big eyes the size of your thumb, rich tones and bright coloring, very choice shit! Also got my hands on Black Heart Mango chunks, the contrast is amazing, khaki/tan sapwood with a bright orange curly heartwood with a dark black streak to separate the two, I am thinking these will really make some sweet dugouts. Hope you like these piece and look forward to your thoughts.

Have sent out quite a few Amboyna Stems, sure would like to see some pics!

Do the Vapor Toke'n Tubes come with a screen?
If not, will the screen kit I got from Purple-Days work?
