middle school MJ education

After just watching a drug special on huffing gas and paint i'm amazed that there are thousands of young kids that die each year from huffing related deaths. When I was in the 6th grade my health class had a huge section on drugs and there was alot of antibud propaganda. I just find it a shame that there are so many kids that look for alternative ways to get high like huffing gas and sniffing glue. Weed would have probably saved there lives if they smoke insted of huffing gas. Its a shame that schools scare kids into finding other ways to get high (things that they may not know is far worse than bud).

It's a foolish, ignorant world we live in. :/

middle school, is that the same as elementary?
or is it highschool? (the dutch name for highschool translates to middle school)

anyway, in elementary I did have some education on tobacco(only one project as far as I remember, so not that much), and no education what so ever about weed, maybe there was some about alcohol too but I don't think so(at least I don't remember getting education on alcohol)
also no education on any other drug or druglike substance, and I've never known anyone who huffed paint or glue(altough we sometimes sniffed the glue in elementary because it smelled nice and as a joke, but never actually huffing it)
so obviously education isn't always the best roadto follow.... I've always been surprised by the weird things schoolkids in america get high on(nutmeg, glue, paint, bananapeels etc)

and in highschool I have only had sex education but no education on any drug not even on tobacco(well except for the ocassional remarks of the biologyteacher during lessons)

Now kids are turning to bath salts as well. Apparently gives a cocaine like high. Also extremely dangerous.

Oh wow. That one is new to me. Back when I played football in highschool all the morons on the team got hooked on huffing piano key cleaner(dustoff). I was always amused as to why they would do the stuff. They talked super slow and deep while huffing and just turned into an idiot for the 10 seconds it lasted per huff. One even took too big of a hit and fell off the bench in the locker room and knockEd himself out. The best part was he was the coach's son.

Middle school is grades 7 and 8.

All schools I went to had a shitload of anti-drug programs, lessons, etc.
They didn't do a very good job because they would describe what type of high the drug gives you, so I'm like, "That sounds pretty awesome."

I suppose it did work though, I didn't indulge in non-alcohol related intoxication until my 20s.
