Donald Trump may run for President.

Maybe I should reword this.

Do you think that he has a chance of winning considering our current economic state of affairs, regardless if you care if he wins or not or if he runs or not?

He is a business man and a business leader. I don't think he has the charisma or poise to lead a nation. George W. Bush did not (in my opinion) have much of either of those two qualities (he did have 'that southern charm') and look how his presidency turned out!

It's an interesting question.

I come at it from a prospective juror who doesn't know much about him (seriously). I know he is rich and famous and has been on TV. I assume he has surrounded himself with the best people, didn't he have a show based on that?

But, even if he is qualified to turn things around ( ) can he stand up to 24/7 scrutiny of his life, both past and present. I doubt that he is squeeky clean. I might vote in the CEO of GE (doubt it! ), he has been scrutinized. Donald is Donald and has only answered to Donald (with great success, but still, do we want a Stalin? ).

^^ Yeah. Not really asking if you think he should win but rather do you think he stands a chance of winning?

Considering that Sarah Palin is within' a hairs breath of polling #1 in the GOP, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Trump has a chance.

I understand. In that case NO. Or Maybe, or Sure. You had the Governator ! Did they take him seriously at first? But he lasted to the end of his term, longer than some... ;) :peace:

Yeah, I saw him interviewed last night. They were talking about that congressman who is married and who posted up his pic without a shirt on, on a dating site claiming that he was not married (false) and that he was 12 years younger than what he was and he posted this up using a computer in his office of congress. Someone exposed him on a blog and he resigned from congress the very next day.

So the guy that was interviewing Trump asked him that if this guy was working for him and he got busted doing this, would he fire him due to how unethical and who immoral it was for a married man to be doing this on a dating web site.

Trump---"No, I wouldn't fire him for being immoral or unethical. I'd fire him for being a dumbass."

My respect for him went up ten-fold as I tried to catch my breath from laughing so hard.

well, now that im in the thread i might as well offer something...especially since you reworded the question.

no, i dont. it seems that people gravitate more to how someone presents an issue rather than how they really feel about it. i dont see him as having enough charisma to pull it off.

furthermore i think you have to be a bit "odd in the head" (this might apply to him) to want to run a country and given that its hard to imagine a good fit for the role of president.

ok, im out and thanks for listening...i really dont like politics, seems aberrant to natural law and therefore moot to debate a better or worse out of it. i'll just watch now. :)
