PD and MFLB Users.

My first vape was a MFLB which i LOVE. I have been using the PA for a month or so and that has also been great. Recently i started smoking my friends volcano, and i can definately notice a different high from the volcano, be it im inhaling more vape? or since its bag based not sure. This got me thinking that i want another home vape that really is gonna stay in my room and not be portable (mflb). I like volcanos and price isnt really a factor to me, but i will be smoking it solo literally all the time. Would users who have a PD and MFLB be willing to say the PD is a stronger high then the mflb? Im leaning towards a PD to add to my collection of vapes, but just wanted to know if anyone had a situation like me. it really is pd vs volcano right now with pd winning as far as my choice lol

this question would be better suited in the Ask FC section.
Well.. that all depends on y0ur MFLB technique really. PD is a fixed temp vape so you can only do so much with the vapor. With the MFLB you can vary your flow to change the temp so you can actually achieve a much stronger high than the PD can give you if you know what your doing.
personally I wouldn't compare the PD to the Volcano because they are completely different in how they work. The PD has advantage over the volcano in that it can be left on 24/7 and uses tiny loads in the bowl, and is direct draw. The volcano however has a wide variety of temps available to the user. However you got to use a bag with the volcano and it isnt direct draw (there are attachments to make it usable with a whip, but they are unsatisfying) as far as Solo Use i would say go for the PD... if you plan on having friends over go with the volcano because the bag is much easier to use in large groups.

I will just add 3 questions:
What do you plan to use... and more precisely, are you going to use concentrates/hash/oils too or exclusively bud?
Though I do not own a PD ,if I understood right it is complicated for these concentrates. Is this true?
Do you frequently have a lot of buddies at your place to have "vape parties" :ko: ?
Are you looking for best efficiency? (the "less material/more effect" definition of efficiency)

As Devo said I think Cano and PD cannot be compared being so different kind of vapes...

But I do use my Cano on daily & alone basis because of "flavors" (yes I "feel" them longer with the ballons vs. the direct draw & whip...don't know for the "log" ones ...) + my daily consumption of hash/concentrates/oils (the liquid chamber set-up is IMO one of the best one the market for that purpose) + need/like to switch methods/airflow/inhalation etc..+ I do have a lot of buddies coming home :D ...
On the efficiency field the Cano gets me REALLY vaked but requests a bit more product then my SSV without MOD, more then my SSV with MOD (arizer dome screen or VB mini-whips), and certainly much more product then for the PD, based on description of the average bowl!

So based on your answers to those 3 questions, maybe this will give you a direction...;)

Like others have mentioned, these are two very different vapes, but if you're strictly solo vaping, I would think the PD would be the better way to go, as the volcano seems more suited to party situations. I'm pretty much a solo user myself, and my log style vape is my daily workhorse...I rarely feel the desire for something more...

If you're looking for a different high, why not look into the whip style desktop vapes that are known to deliver big, strong hits? Such as the DBV, SSV, and so on. The PD is known to be very efficient, but I don't know if it would be a good choice for someone looking for something that delivers a strong high faster than the MFLB.

You might also be interested in looking into the LSV, which has been receiving glowing reviews.

momatik,
I say PKM is correct. If you are only going to be smoking solo and like big hits and have a reasonable tolerance, then the DBV or SSV are up your alley. I just got a second-hand DBV and am extremely pleased with it - high vapor to air ratio, great efficiency with some tweaking, easy set up, reasonable price.

I have never hit a log vape and own a MFLB. MFLB is well able to REACH combustion, let alone skirt it with high temp hits - I've never done it but others have. This means you can get more out of your herb with care. I understand log vapes have thin vape to air ratio and a tight air constriction - the mflb by contrast can take very massive hits with some practice with a very nice V-to-A ratio.

I have a volcano and the DBV vapor-to-air ratio and flavor blow it out of the water. Volcano is massively overpriced despite its rock-solid build quality.

The LSV is the cadillac of the DBV/SSV family heritage and if, as you claim, money is no issue, it is a straight up vapor-engine capable of playing many roles, and I don't think one forum member has been unhappy. I still feel, personally, that it seems overpriced for what it is, and hope the Magickwand can do the same job, possibly better.

I own both a LB and a PD and i would say i get more high off my PD. Dont get me wrong, i can get real high off my launch box but i find the PD seals the deal for me, it gets me to the perfect high. But yeah i would agree with the others, if you want to get real stronger high i would go with a whip style vaporizer. They have much bigger stronger hits that make you more high for sure, i find after using a PD and a MFLB a whip style vaporizer almost get me too high

Not quite sure what you mean by thin, but for clarification, those types of vapes have a vary high vapor to air ratio. You may have meant the same thing.

I have a cano digit and have been using a cherry pd, which i just purchased. I think the PD makes you work a little harder for the reward. I think the PD can get you where you want, using less, but taking longer, and working harder. (by the way, I havent used with a bong etc, so I know there are more uses / advantages etc, I am going from my experience) even for one person. make it 2, and it gets tad more complicated. a volcano wil get you trashed, and as many people can use it as bags you can buy... I like them both :brow: :2c: :peace:
