Discontinued MagickWand Vaporizer

Are they in any stores in Colorado?

I don't think Hipi has put the wand in any brick and mortar stores. You need to order online, and it's not a bad time since I think that 20 dollars off or free handkit deal is still on. I'd personally take the handkit, as I'm very curious about how the wand would hit directly - kind of like the transfer on the LSV.

Abysmal, rest assured Hipi will absolutely take care of you even if it takes a little while - this is my experience. We all have lives to lead, after all.

CharlieDontSurf is correct we do not have these in any smoke shops or stores just yet they are only available online at Tayloreverything.com for the moment. Our next venture will be getting them into some retail shops. If anyone has any shops they know of that are looking to offer new vaporizers let us know and we will contact them and give them a little info about what we are offering.

For any fc members still looking to purchase an MW I will still offer the discount/coupon CharlieDontSurf is talking about, people have been really enjoying the whip option and usage

Thank you to everyone who has purchased one of our vapes and to all those who have contributed to the forum, you guys are flippin awesome!

Shit. :(

Broke a downstem while cleaning earier...

I get my big glass piece ready to go...and the glass MW fitting drops off and breaks in half. I had left it in the MW as opposed to putting it in the bong first. :(

Looks like I'll have to delay the video. :(

Hammerzeit,
Others have mentioned this and in my ramblings I might have before as well, but I'm finding that at least a half hour long heat up time is the key to really good vaporization with the MW. While the MW is my daily driver and ultimately my go-to vape, it really does need a thorough heating of the glass through and through to get great results, at least in my opinion. Cranking the heat when the glass isn't heated just leads to an unhappy toastiness which while still effective doesn't do the MW justice. A really thoroughly heated MW with good material can lead to truly great clouds.

I appreciate the silicone sleeving more and more everyday, more so for its added protection against impacts rather than heat. If high quality silicone can really take the heat, and my broken MW's silicone did look very very clean, then I'm curious why more manufacturers don't use it. While I preferred the cleaner aesthetic of my first Magickwand, with its expanse of uncovered glass, this one is undoubtedly more durable - which is far more important.

big thanks to charlie he's the reason I ordered this item. :brow:

Placed my order Monday, have yet to receive a confirmation or tracking number. Is this normal?

Also when I ordered there was no place for the FC whip promo offer, so in the notes box I stated I had heard about them threw FC and my choice is 14mm hopefully thats good enough.

So I should be able to finally throw up a video later tonight. As it does for most, life got hectic and setting aside a slice of time to shoot a video under good lighting and then edit it took a little longer than expected.

Since I never came in here with any review, I'll jot some thoughts down now about my usage with the MW over the past few weeks. I'm going to keep it short to avoid unnecessary redundancies.

Upon receiving the MW I was taken aback by the simplicity of both the build/aesthetic and packaging. Immediately (and others have mentioned this already) I thought that an instruction manual should be included. While the MW has an intuitive shape and usage routine, there are some early user errors and/or confusions that may be sidestepped with the help of some literature. Also, its just nice to know a little about the product you're holding in your hands for the first time.

The build and looks of the unit are extremely simple. The build quality, while not worrisome IMO, is also not the MW's strong-suit. I think this is where the low price-point of the MW really corresponds to the product. Everything fits together well but you can tell quite clearly in most cases that each individual part is off the shelf. The silicone sleeves, while a necessary heat shield it seems, don't give the unit the most polished look or feel. The same goes for the use of visible electric tape near the top of my unit.

The glass itself seems strong enough IMO but its abundantly clear that this is a very breakable unit.
I do wish there was an attached temperature controller but understand that would both raise the price and warrant a design change. While its not a big problem, I can imagine the knob being in an out of the way position from the vape site (I have to squeeze in between the wall and the couch). Overall I don't think that the build quality is subpar but I do think the low-price corresponds closely here.

Like other users I've found that my MW sessions benefit from a lengthy warm-up time. The heat of the unit is something that needs to be noted from the onset obviously as well. Personally, it seems to me that the excessive heat is another point of intersection between price-point and build/performance.

As for the vapor production the MW offers: the hit is more airy than I generally prefer in a vape hit. Rather than plug the top hole with my hand (or finger) I've come to prefer using a dedicated 'plug' to seal the air-flow more tightly and comfortably. I show the product I use in the video: its basically a rubber cork...this only stays in the unit for a hit or two at a time.

My biggest grievance with the unit is the amount of air in the hit and required to get a good hit. I find that the vapor production excels several seconds into the hit, for this reason I've come to the practice of a two breath hit. Noticeably, once the vapor really starts rolling in I've filled my lungs and need to exhale. The second part of the hit consists of clearing the remaining vapor and the vapor production usually picks up quickly enough to get another burst of vapor. To be sure, users can get large clouds with the MW if thats what you're after. I still haven't used the unit all that many times so am still figuring out how low I can keep the unit while still getting satisfactory hits.

The single screen that shipped with the unit let in quite a bit of particulate (had to shake quite a bit to get some green bits out of my inlines and trees ) so I quickly swapped that out for another. I know another user mentioned trying to restrict air-flow on the bowl-end of the unit and I think this may provide a good result FWIW. A shorter bowl with super fat walls may channel and diffuse the hot air more effectively over the bed of herbs IMO. Even a glass wall with a couple holes or slits in it separating the clear channel of hot air from the herb-bed may provide more turbulence and restriction. (Just a thought, not sure how doable or effective this would be. Just a suggestion worth only my :2c:).

Ultimately, the MW has come out for use once every other week or so thus far here. At this price point I think the MW can carve out a solid niche for itself, that said, I don't think it can serve as an end-all tool for vaporbong use (at least with my preferences). All my :2c: and subjective views.

I hope the Vaporpedia page has been getting a little traffic and can serve as a helpful resource for people? Anybody checked it out yet? (http://www.vaporpedia.com/wiki/MagickWand_Vaporizer) Will be back with a vid soon!

Thanks for the review Hereatlast!

I just wanted to address two things
One being the instructions which have been made but are being sent in e-mail format now so anyone who would like a copy emailed to them please let me know. I can also post up a download link, I think I will do that in first post so everyone has access to that. I know that this will help ease the learning curve for new users

And secondly I know quite a few people have mentioned the "electric tape" at the top of their unit and I just wanted to clear up that it is shrink wrap and all units from now on will include white shrink wrap to give it a better aesthetic appeal.

I am currently looking into a cap/plug to include with the MW to allow for fuller hits without having to draw as slowly or draw twice.

Thanks for all the comments and reviews its always helpful to get feedback :)

:o awesome video, love the family collection! If you're interested in having that video posted on our official youtube let me know or shoot me a download link to my email

Thanks for taking the time to make it!

Just a small update as I have been super busy making vapes, making new videos, getting ready to go to this Tesla Tech conference in NM, AND testing new heaters!
Thats right the MW new heater shipment has come in and I'm really excited to test them out. These babies are high quality all american made (like the last) but they are slightly higher in wattage. The regular heaters are 45 and these ones I will be testing are 55.This should mean faster heat up time as well as being more able to vaporize concentrates and achieving thicker hits without the need for restriction. I will be updating on that ASAP.

Also look out for the new hookah video and soon thereafter a video to release a new bowl for the MW. Bowl type R :brow:

New video for MW!

This one however isn't the hookah, I ended up editing the AromaBowl video first

Check it out for a sneak preview of the new BTR! (Bowl Type R)

HiPi,
What exactly is changed in the new bowl design? I can see it's a little smaller or whatever and definitely looks different, but what exactly has been done, and why?

The new aroma top is a very cool addition, but I'm far more excited about the bag blowing attachment.

From the quick glimpse in the video it looks like maybe it has a smaller diameter to make almost a spherical ground glass connection with the wand? I can't wait to try it out!

id assume its nothing to worry about.

I tried using two bowls at once with two different strains.. i put the 9mm adaptor than i put the small bowl with one strain and then i insert the big bowl on the small bowl :) and i tried another strain and even bubble hash :) .... The vaporization went very smooth .. I am currentlu experimenting with the hand glass attachment with an extra bowl :)
I can't wait for bag blowing .. I can only imagine if you could blow a bag through both bowls :D with diffenet strains , or just a lot of weed or bubble hash ... :D .. That would be the thickest cloud trapped in a bag.. from a vaporizer so small like the mw :) ...
I didn't although quite get it how the bag blowing would function.. with it be an air pump .. or smth like the ERBO pipe connected to a bag ?

ok so we have a tasty treat here. The new BTR (type r aka restriction) Video for the new bowl. Check it out let me know how you like the new bowl function. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ammTp0sg4EE :D

It has a very small air pathway and allows the wand to make close contact with the herb or concentrate. Although it can not be sat on top and left it works quite well for restricted airflow hits.

That BTR looks awesome! I'm sure I'll be ordering up one of those soon. I usually don't leave the MW on the bowl anyway so it will work perfect for me!
