Well its about god damn time, i have been waiting to pick up an iphone since the original phone launched what.. something like 5 years ago.

Im currently a verizon customer so ill be pre ordering a 16 gb on Feb 3rd, hopefully fed ex will mess up and deliver my phone early :D.

Just curious how many Verizon customers are planning to upgrade to one ( 16 gb or 32? ), and if you are planning to switch from your current carrier to Verizon for their iphone ( please state if you are already using an iphone on at&t or tmobile, otherwise just state your carrier )

Also curious if the people upgrading to an iphone were already using a smartphone ( requires 30 dollar data plan ) or if you were using a dumbphone / featurephone ( pretty much a normal phone.. does NOT require a data plan )

The iphone 5 is most likely right around the corner, if you plan to wait the 6 months and get an iphone 5 are you getting it on Verizon?

I cant wait to destroy my windows mobile 6.5 HTC Imagio.. when i get the iphone i am going to literally put a .40 caliber round right through that sucker.. what a headache it has been.

I'll wait until next gen iphone is announced. New verizon contracts would lock you in 20 months before you can upgrade. Why buy something when the next gen model will be out in less time than that. I'd rather wait for the next gen then buy an iphone that becomes obsolete months after you buy it and then you gotta keep 20 months before you can upgrade it.

Maybe an iP 5. ;)
ATT is OK in CA & FL although I connect via WiFi 90% time.

I, for one, can not wait till all these damn iphone people get off my AT&T network. Aaaahhhhhh.... I'll have my bandwidth back!

Oh yeah i forgot to put something in it about the iphone 5, whoops.

Are you guys planning to get the iphone 5 on Verizon, AT&T, or unlocked on T-mobile?

Im lucky enough to have a family members early upgrade i can use to get the iphone 4 and then ill be able to use my original upgrade again when the iphone 5 is released, or i may potentially wait until an iphone with LTE is released

I've got an iPhone 3GS on MTS in Manitoba, Canada under Rogers with the 5 gb plan. I'll probably upgrade to the iPhone 5 this June, but first I'll grab an iPad 2 (I have an iPad, but the iPad 2 looks pretty solid, esp if they enable Facetime over 3G).

There's already some pretty cool MMORPG's out for the iPad.

Thats another thing about the Iphone on verizon. No Sim Cards or slots for sim cards. Makes it harder to use on another network, if at all.

This is true with the release of the iphone 4 for Verizon, most likely the iphone 5 will have both cdma and gsm, allowing it to be a world phone as well.

Unfortunately i dont think the iphone 5 will be 4g, im thinking iphone 6 for that.

Survivalism,
I have a Iphone 3g and have been mostly disappointed with its performance, although the physical robustness of the unit should be applauded. Basically, and I mean this nicely, Apple software tends to be geared toward people who don't know much about computers and need their hand held, who have no interest in really doing what their phone is capable of, which is basically the same work as a netbook. My phone is jailbroken but most people aren't willing to make that leap or are unaware of its advantages. My next phone will run Android OS, for sure.

Apple hardware is always overpriced for its given computing power. There are comparison tests of 1,200 dollar mac laptops against 200 dollar Dell netbooks running Mac OS, doing the same tasks, with the 2 bill netbook beating the mac in most all of them. I'm ranting at this point I know, but my time with the Iphone has left me cursing Apple for their business practices and OS style. And its worth mentioning the suicide and depression scandal going on at the factory which produces Iphones and Ipods.
