Tbf fair to NewVape, the majority of users that report back here dont use the carb cap for flower.

For the record, I used to cap flower all the time btw.

I agree, but the voice of the minority of "carb cap enthusiasts" like me must be loud enough to justify making one that fits the WeedEater many months after its release, otherwise why bother.

Yeah, I was going to say...the carb cap is not made to fit the Weed Eater because the Weed Eater is not designed to be used with a carb cap.

Am I wrong about this?

Hmm, I think I'm not elucidating my point clearly and I'm not sure how to word it :)

Apologies if I word this rudely, its totally unintentional - There are other methods of usage of the FP that get round your problem, thats why very few people report back this problem. In fact, in 670 pages I'm struggling to recall this ever being an issue.

If you want immediate hits without slowing down your draw, turn the temp up. You wont need the carb cap then. Basically, you have other options to explore.

@Ramahs Like the showerhead before it, there is no need to carb cap the weedeater but I used to carb cap for flower on my SH all the time. Plus - "Fits Vrod, Weedeater, DCup T-Bucket, Tsunami" from the NewVape carb cap page.

Well then, @emmdeemo , I stand corrected. Thank you for the info

Also, one thing I don't think gets talked about enough around here is this system's capability for microdosing.

Other than a log, which has a much smaller heater/bowl pathway, I've never had another vape where you don't have to fully cover the screen to get evenly roasted ABV. I love that I can put a teeny pinch on the screen and still evenly extract that shit at either a low and slow low-temp pace, or a high-temp one-hit pace, and either way evenly extract the herb evenly.

I'm loving this!

Have you seen that the channel below the bowl fits a basket screen damn well? Another micro dosing option.

I forget who has talked about what so apologies if I'm preaching to the choir already :)

That's correct. The Weedeater was specifically designed to simulate an old school combustion bong hit in familiarity of usage. The carb cap from previous models was a point of confusion for many flower only vaporists, as well as an additional expense. The goal was lower cost, less parts, simpler design. I'd say they nailed it!

I’ve found no use for the carb cap when vaping flower only.

I suspect some may like using it with flower because the resistance helps them hit it slower. I however hate the resistance. I have no problem inhaling that slow without the resistance helping to control the pull.

I could understand using the carb cap if I had lung issues that prevented me from making long slow pulls without the resistance from the card cap, but I don’t. And I greatly appreciate the open airway that allows my lung muscles full control.

I did some more testing last night without the carb using a really slow draw. decent hit, but not close to what the Sub could deliver or the FP w/ carb. i had to pull so slow it reminded me of my beginnings with the Extreme q whip plugged into a small glass piece. and it took twice as many pulls to clear a pack no carb. Thats not what im looking for. My aim is big hits/fast extraction with dense vapor. I want to rip it like a big ol combustion bong hit, fast and hard. thats not possible without the cap.

fyi - Im using a real mobius matrix bubbler, very similar to the pieces they sell with their kits, so my resistance should be about the same as NV tests with and that a lot of yall use. Im truly surprised so many people think its a big hitter with no carb. Its just not.
but with the carb its pretty much a tie with the Sub as far as big hits and better than the Sub in most other categories IMO

There are 670 pages here of people getting the hits you're are looking for. We arent all mistaken as to how much of a hitter the FP is :D

Look at @invertedisdead video for one such example.

Up your temps without the cap man. That will fix your issues. I love the carb cap for flower too. I actually keep my OG shower cap on my SH all the time. Meaning it stays hot and on top of the unit even when it’s on the stand. This has my temps down to 620 or lower, 620 is as dark as I would ever want to go. Without the cap always on and preheated I was at 640-650 at all times. The cap sure does steal some heat if you don’t let it soak especially the thick og shower cap that I don’t think is available any longer. To get the results I like without a cap I run closer to 700. Probably like 680 would be good. The airflow is more open without the cap and with higher temps the clouds are just as big and abv is the same. For some reason I really like my setup at lower temps with the pre heated cap which provides a lot more draw resistance. After much time on this thread I just chalk that up to personal preference. So go ahead and give some of these settings a go. Just for a heads up I use all auber stuff, rdk200 controller and their stock 20mm coil. So keep that in mind when referencing temps.

let me add some more details... im using the vrod, dont know how much difference that makes.
Im packing about as much can fit in the glass bowl. I think its around .25-.3g. again im looking for fast extraction, big hits. i dont have the time or patience to pack it five times.

That hit did not look particularly big to me. but its pretty hard to tell in videos. the lighting can dramatically alter how dense the vapor looks. how much was packed and how fully extracted was it?

Yo, all the carb cap lets you do is run lower temps and adds some draw restriction if you're into that. Turn up the temp and you can get the same exact hits without the carb cap. It's just about whatever routine you're into... I started using the carb cap right off the bat and it stuck with me.

Vrod here also.

^ Exactly!

When I want bigger, cloudier, faster rips I take off the cap and turn up the temp!
There is no way I can take a big bong-style rip with that cap on. A bong hit's not that restricted.

Ayyy, I use a Möbius Ion Matrix myself, boy these guys stack. I love mine. I may need to experiment more with my showercap, but usually I didn't like the restriction the cap added. I run between 630-660 and can get nice dark brown abv in one or two hits. My Colorado weed be dry as hell though, so that my color my results.

Moisture is the enemy of destroying bowls in one hit. No need for it.

I usually let my stuff sit out after grinding for a bit to make sure it goes up like a Christmas tree.

I think the FPs versatility is an upside, so many ways to hit a flowerpot

Personally I use the carb cap all the time for flower with both my showerhead and vrod. I like being able to use the resistance to lower pressure at the bowl, it helps me extract a full bowl a bit quicker and basically adds on to the diffuser length a bit.

I could also raise temps but on my vrod then the temp would be too high for dabbing.

I also live in CO and if I dont rehydrate the flower from the dispensary, it will turn to literal powder in my grinder. I don't find it difficult to kill bowls in one hit.

Ive had all the flowerpots. VROD heat pipes are half as long as the showerhead so yeah it makes a difference, but not everybody would notice.

You just have to look at the bong to see its fully white walled in seconds, and that's a lot bigger bong than most are using. It's as big of a hit as you can take with this vape, guaranteed. True there's no stage lighting for the exhale in the video but if you've been vaping for a while you can tell by the way the vapor builds and then lingers that it's super dense.

Not sure how much was loaded cause I don't own this vape anymore but .3g sounds like it would be a bit close to the heater to me, but I don't weigh my bowls so not sure on the exact weight per session. I remember bringing this vape to a buddies and the first thing he did was pack the bowl all the way to the brim so it was damn near touching the heater head. After one hit the bowl was totally roasted and he decided it had the same "burnt popcorn" taste as "all the other vapes" and proceeded to pack a big smoke bowl

Anyways enjoy the flowerpot, it's a crusher ;)

Yeah, that's what I always like to tell people about the flowerpot. It's really one of the most adaptable vaporizers out there. Most of my vapes have a preference on what type of water piece they like the most, but the FP can always accommodate. Fast or slow, restricted or free, the choice is yours.

If you let your bowl go long enough between cleanings and you turn up the heat you would be surprised at what the reclaim left in the bowl will generate, capped too!

@NewVape710 @newvape918 Edwyn, Chris.. when are you guys going to open NewVape threads at the new site? Would love to see this thread continue. I am loving my AVB can!
